Thank You Netgalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of this book! This book is based on my honest opinion.

I didn't know that this was a part of the Dreamers series--this is the 5th book of the Dreamers series. I really like the chemistry between Yin and Ari, both have the similar background and I think they are really a cute couple. This was also a quick and short read so it wouldn't take that long to finish this book.. Though there is no specific plot line, the story actually talks about the romance between the two, about love, faith and getting together with the loved ones during the season of Christmas. Only thing was I wish this book was a bit longer!

Overall this book worth three stars!

Fans of Herrera's Dreamers series will enjoy this Christmas novella, which has lots of Christmas, but the romance happened before the story. Many of her characters make an appearance. I recommend reading other books in the series first, as there is little setup here.

It's a quick, sexy Christmas story about a couple wanting to give each other a wonderful surprise.

I received an advanced readers copy of this book from the publisher and Net Galley in return for a fair review

I love the Dreamers series and this novella was the perfect way to revisit some of my favorite characters.

The thing that I find so enjoyable about this series is how real the characters and their relationships with each other feel. I am a sucker for found family stories, and these are some of my favorites. Yin and Ari were characters that I always wanted to see more of as they popped up in the main storyline, so it was really nice for them to finally have their focus. I would have enjoyed n even longer story bout them, in fact. Some of this felt rushed in some way, probably because I didn’t get the same time and detail to fall in love with these characters the way I did with the other Dreamers couples.

I am not always a fan of reading Christmas stories outside of December as I have a harder time getting into the mood. However, after the overall negativity that 2020 has brought, the little slice of cheer, family and love was exactly what I needed!

My favorite part of reading Adriana Herrera’s romances is the “found family” friend groups. My favorite part of this one was seeing the others from the American Dreamers books and how they came through for Ari and Yin.

Unfortunately the rest of this story wasn’t much for me. I think I am more of a full story person and not as much for novellas. What I love most in a romance is seeing the couple fall for each other - and this was a story where they were already together. We just watched them get into one (fairly minor) conflict and then get out of it (with a fairly unbelievable resolution). It was fine but not my favorite.

Thank you to Carina and Netgalley for the free ebook.

Yin and Ari have been background characters in most of the books in the Dreamers series, and now they finally get a HEA after their own in this novella.

It’s Yin and Ari’s first Christmas together in their very own apartment, and each of them wants to make sure the holiday is special for the other. But of course, best laid plans often go awry.

I can’t say anything more without giving away the plot, but I knew what was going to happen as soon as I started reading, and that only made me even more excited to see how things were going to play out.

Fans of the series will know that Yin and Ari met when Nesto hired them to work on his food truck in American Dreamer. They, like many of the characters in the series, are both immigrants. They’re from vastly different backgrounds, but they’ve found happiness together and they’re looking forward to a shared future as well.

This was such a sweet book. There’s no serious conflict—just best intentions and positive holiday messages…… and a couple of sex scenes. You know, a typical holiday romance, lol.

I would recommend American Christmas. Readers should read the other books in the Dreamers series first in order to appreciate Yin and Ari’s full character arcs over the course of several books. This novella was a nice surprise to tide me over while I wait for Herrera’s next full-length book.

This was the cutest! By far the best Christmas story I've read this month.

I was just a little bit detached because I didn't know it was from a book series... so I did miss character development and more of their journey, what makes me really excited to pick up the Dreamer series, which is the one this book is from!

The representation was amazingly done, I don't think I've read such diverse characters in just one book - which is extremely sad - but I completely loved the celebrations and all the new culture I got to learn about.

I will warn you, this is a steamy novella. But I totally recommend it!

Pretty much the perfect Christmas novella -- I love how Herrera is unafraid to tackle serious moments in the midst of holiday fun. A Gift-of-the-Magi style disaster becomes an opportunity to make a solid relationship even better, and for Yin and Ari to open their hearts to the generosity of their friends. Any fan of the Dreamers series will be thrilled to check back in with previous books' protagonists and to get to know Ari and Yin -- supporting actors until now -- even better.

I have been waiting for Ari and Yin's story ever since reading American Dreamers. I loved these two immigrants getting their own story. They deserve their HEA!
This started out as a fluffy holiday novella but it gets angsty in some parts.
I absolutely enjoyed this and recommend this if you like a sweet and steamy holiday novella with medium angst.

Ari and Yin were my favorite secondary characters from the American Dreamers series. They both seemed very young in the other books, so at first it was a little strange for them to be having a very (ahem) adult time at home on Christmas Eve, early in this novella. But good for them. The two young immigrants have had difficult lives, and they deserve some happiness together.

As the two navigate Christmas shopping and surprises for one another, I was beginning to think this was a relatively drama-free story. But no, Herrera throws in some O. Henry-level twists before giving her two sweet men their HEA. Charming and perfect for your low-treacle Christmas reading needs.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review.

Oh, I have wanted an Ari/Yin story since reading American Love Story! Despite my own Jewishness, I'm a sucker for Christmastime romance (I'm blaming this on Hallmark and Lifetime) and this sweet little novella manages to nicely package a holiday romance that captures the importance of found family and deep male friendships. You get a touch more of the backgrounds of both boys, and a very fast introduction to both of their neuroses, as trauma response. The sex comes fast and hard (hah!), but the emotional connection is what is highlighted here. If you want something short, spicy, and Christmas themed, it's a no-brainer to pick this one up!

Sweet and sexy queer holiday novella that is a modern riff on The Gift of the Magi, that ultimately is best for those who have read the series featuring the couple who had a secondary romance in the first book. Definitely more of a "count your blessings" and reflective holiday romance, so be prepared for the feelings.

This story is so freaking soft. I'm obsessed with Ari and Yin. They're just incredibly precious and you just wanna wrap them up in all the love. This is a Dreamer novella, so you'll definitely enjoy it more if you've read the prior books. You definitely get to see a little bit of some of the characters and I loved getting to see them again, even if just for a little bit.

Adriana Herrera does found family like no one else. She creates this beautiful family unit around Ari and Yin and you know that even though you can't cross the page and love them, they have this amazing found family that will. They will lift them up when they need it, they will remind them of all their incredible achievements, and they will definitely come in clutch while saving Christmas.

This is a classic "I gave up the thing I love to make your Christmas extra special, but the thing I gave up is directly related to what you gave me" story. I think this probably has a name, but, you know what I mean? right? These kinds of stories always frustrate me a bit, cause they're incredibly sweet and selfless, but, the miscommunication!! I still adored it though. I feel like the build up took a little bit of time for me, but the payoff was more than worth it. I love Ari and Yin so much!!!

"We can't let them strip from us our joy and our dreams."

When I saw that Ari and Yin from Herrera's 'Dreamers' were were getting their own novella, I was genuinely delighted. I loved following their story through the previous books of the series (though I still need to read book 4) and that fact that they were getting a holiday novella made it even better. I love Christmas romances so much, and I'm not even sorry that I read this during spooky season.

This was just as cute as promised, with easy writing, (I always love that Herrera's characters sound like real, relatable people) a fair amount of steam, and just a really genuine-feeling romance as we follow these two sweethearts through their first Christmas together. We got a little more insight into their personalities and lives. We already knew a fair amount about Yin and Ari from previous books, and I do think that helped me enjoy this a lot, just knowing what they'd been through to get here. And then there were the appearances from the other couples, which warmed my heart. That said, I don't think this novella would be majorly confusing to anyone who's new to the series. It could easily be read as a standalone, touching on their lives as refugees, family, and just the complications of a relationship when you're young and new to it. I honestly really liked the (relatively simple) conflict, and the way it was resolved.

And see I understand why this is a novella rather than a full length book, but for every little bit of new information we got, I wanted more. We learnt more about Ari and Yin's relationship, but I felt like we were spreading out, rather than going deeper. Which isn't a bad thing per se, but I kept waiting for profundity that didn't come?

But this is still an objectively really sweet, really heart-warming romance that I'd read again in a heartbeat. It didn't tick all my boxes, but I had a lovely time with it, and these characters.

3.5 stars.

Unfortunately this was a DNF for me. I wish there was more angst or a journey of couples falling in love. This felt too good. I was annoyed at the main conflict. I really love the rest of the series. This one is not for me.

I have to say I loved the story between Ari and Yin. Though I have to admit I had no idea this was part of a series. I definitely want to read the first three books after reading this book. Due to the fact that I missed the first three stories I only focused on the two men in this one. It helped a lot. The love story between Ari and Yin was very sweet and heartfelt. I’m glad I was able to read it. I wished it was longer. And the ending was adorable!

I received this ARC from the publisher and Netgalley for my honest review. Thank you for my copy.
