Contemplation is how we grow closer to God. In this short but practical book, Jackie Halstead offers contemplative direction to individuals and groups. She shares insights into the history of the practices in order to ground readers in the importance and tradition of contemplation.
I appreciated the clear guidance and variety of ways we can contemplate with God - through scripture, our bodies, and in other ways. We could all use the reminder that God is here and talks with us.
One note: the book is not meant to be a textbook. It's a practical guide to contemplation with simple steps. While it could be useful for a class, it's more ideal for individual or small group practice.
