Doctor turned convict Blair Harbor is just trying to get her life back on track after being released from her jail sentence. Working as a cashier at a convenience store, a girl comes in to steal money, Blair gives her what she wants, and makes up the difference herself. There is a detective, Jessica, who is disliked by her cohorts because of her dedication and the fact she was left a mansion worth a lot of money by a past client. Then a friend from jail, Sneak, appears, and it turns out the girl who robbed Blair is Sneak’s daughter, who is now missing. The story really ramps up from there, and I must say I really loved it. I especially liked how the three women worked together to solve the mystery. . Non-stop action you will love! Thank you to NetGalley for my copy of this fun read.

I have been a huge fan of Candice Fox since reading “Hades” in 2015. I loved that series. Then came “Crimson Lake” and I love that series even more.

“Gathering Dark” was an outstanding thriller. Fast paced from the the get go. Once I started reading I stayed up all night to finish it.

The duo begin the search for the missing young lady and are quickly led into dark and dangerous alleyways where life and death struggles are the norm. The beginning of what will be another great series. Fast-paced, well-written, and highly recommended.

Wow did I love this book. This author is becoming one of my new favorite authors. I was a little confused about the characters at first but I really got into this story. I loved all of the women in it. I think it will be a great new series. Read this book . You won’t be sorry.
