Often people say that they enjoyed the twists and turns in a book, but this takes it to a whole new level. The ending completely blew me away. Nicola Marsh masterfully wove together two time lines and the very complicated relationships in this family. The exploration of the secrets being held by several characters was intense and gripping. This book is domestic suspense at its finest.

A slow suspense book about family secrets and family ties. Lots of female drama in one family for two generations. Brooke has been gone for ages since many blamed her for her boyfriend's suicide when she was a teenager. Her sister, who has always been jealous of her, is getting married. She has only known her fiance for six months. To Brooke's surprise her sister has a daughter. Brooke's aunt who raised Brooke, her sister, and their cousin after Brookes' parents died when she was very young, has dementia. Brooke decides it's time to visit.

There are so many secrets in this family that sometimes it's hard to keep track of who's keeping what from whom. The book is written from several different aspects, and goes back and forth between now and then. The story progresses at all times, and very slowly the different stories are being unfold. The book kept me captivated even though I figured out the plot in the beginning of the book. Because I think it was quite easy to figure out what was going to happen I feel like the book should have been a bit shorter.

I honestly can't say if any of the adult characters were likable in the end. They were all liars, quite egoistic, not trusting each other (for a reason), and it would be exhausting living a life like that. At least, Hope, the little girl in the book is a likable character, and even though this is a book, I wonder what will become of a girl that everyone has always lied to about everything important in her life. 3,5 stars.

What an amazing book, reading it I felt I had it all worked out, then a huge plot twist.. then another.. and another! Absolutely brilliant! I felt as though I was watching a fast paced action film, eager for more. Family drama, lies, manipulation, this book has it all. Highly recommended.

Sibling rivalry turns to murder. This is a book largely about two sisters. I would characterize it as a psychological thriller and I honestly didn’t know how it would end up. I recommended it, it was great.

This book left me utterly speechless! Wow! Nicola Marsh you are a genius writer.

Being the younger than both of my sisters, I could really relate to Alice and Freya's characters, but they took it to a whole other level.

There was so many secrets, twists, and turns. I had a hard time putting it down to get anything done around my house!

If you love books that are heartbreaking, full of suspense, mysterious, and thrilling, then this is the book for you!

I felt for these characters in so many ways. Brooke endured so much heartbreak it was unreal! She tried being the best sister she could be to Freya, but Freya just had too much of a jealous streak and coveted everything Brooke had.

The secrets!!! Oh my God the secrets this family kept was crazy!!!!

I loved this book. I love a book that keeps me wanting more.

Alice really messed up big time when she was younger, but Karma really got her good when she ended up raising three girls that weren't even hers. She lost alot, too. She lived with her secrets the longest and lived with the pain of her consequences the most.

Poor Lizzie was just thrown in only to discover her life as she knew it wasn't the case, but she handled it well.

I am just glad either of my sisters or me are like Freya.

The intricacy dynamic of a family is never easy. Siblings rivalry between sisters can carry from one generation to the next. This story has it all from love to mystery. It is a good read and the characters are very well developed. However, there's something to be said for editing. The over descriptions have me stop reading many times. I had to skip over those descriptive parts that do not need to be there. It does make for a monotonous read at times. The many different points of view of all the sisters can be boring at times, but it is necessary for the story to developed as that's the style it was written in. I wouldn't call it a gripping thriller as it's was okay, nothing I didn't figured out.

Thank you to the Bookouture and NetGalley for letting me read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

And here I thought my family had issues! “My Sister’s Husband” had me saying WTH so often and the end blew me away. Great tale of family, sisterhood, a mother’s love, jealousy, hate, and rage. So well written I was hooked from the beginning until the end. I cannot wait for the next book by Nicola Marsh.

I have mixed feelings about this one. There were elements that intrigued me, but I was left feeling underwhelmed. The pacing felt a bit slow and the multiple perspectives were so similar that I kept having to pull back from the book to remember what happened when and to which character. I'd hoped that there would at least be an amazing plot twist or two to make it worth the read, but I guessed every single one.

I think were were a lot of components of this book that could have been great, but the way it was put together just didn't do it for me.

Another new author for me but a gripping read and an author I will look out for in the future.

This book is well plotted with some excellent characters but with three women constantly in the book I sometimes confused myself with who was who at times. Maybe I was just tired from trying to stay awake to read more. Lots of secrets, twists and turns and a good solid read. Difficult to say too much about the story without giving too much away.

I would like to thank both Netgalley and Bookouture for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

I thought I was watching a movie. Superb.
Do you have a sibling? Did you ever face sibling rivalry? Then this book is for you. She wanted your toys, she wanted that love which your parents gave to you and now she wants your husband.
He’s as handsome as I remember: broad shoulders, piercing blue eyes, hair the colour of burnt toffee. The man who once meant the world to me. The reason I fled eleven years ago. I’ve never told anyone the terrible mistake I made that night. The secret we share. I’m still haunted by the crashing waves at the bottom of the cliffs, the blood.
Its a superb psychological thriller with wonderful characters and awesome twists and turns.
I was choked when I read its ending.

The last year I have been slowly dwelling back to suspense, thriller and books with similar narratives. I took an leave of absence from those since world is a horrific place as it is and I needed my books to relax me.

But my mind was bored and it needed some motivation whilst reading and this book just easily hit the right spot(s). It has everything you need to make you turn pages as fast as you can but also you have to read it very carefully since you don't want to be missing out.

This book is a higher-level example of the domestic thrillers type of books where you have 3 women as main protagonists and you have that great feeling of watching some of the great noir films.

3 women , in each chapter, give you some startling revelations and even they are amazed by them and your gut just ties into a nut and you JUST HAVE TO READ it until the END.

The feeling that the characters are talking just TO ME made me feel amazing even though the hidden secrets were horrific. The writer managed to make the reader feel as a part of the book and that was the first WOW from me. And then I felt like reading their diaries and that is such a great ability for this new writer for me - she made me thinking about the story throughout every sentence.

And the secrets - you can't believe the family can have so many of them. :D I felt grateful for mine after reading this, that's for sure!

The writer did this amazing job of making you feel like you know everything and that you just found the proof of your thoughts on the next page. And then something happens and you find yourself arguing with yourself because you were so off the topic.

But the best part of the book had to be the suspense building. It seemed like at every moment they are going to kill each other, or kill themselves, or that someone from around the corner is going to unravel all the family mysteries. Honestly, it felt disturbing - but that's what thriller should do, right?

The suspense aspect of the book is astonishing because you are suspicious of every character for a little while, everyone feels and seems guilty of something .
And in my wildest dreams I could not figure that ending (s) come clear in that way! It was different, it was powerful and it so not assumed since the author gives snippets of different stories and throws you off the track every now and then.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC version of this book in exchange for an honest review.
