I love a feel good Christmas novel. This is the first one I have read from Jenny Hale and I really enjoyed it, a nice cosy read that really makes you feel it's Christmastime even in the summer.
Christmas At Fireside Cabins is the perfect book to cosy up with at Christmas, I love the book cover, so Christmasy!
I love Jenny Hale’s books! She puts out one summer book and one Christmas book every year, both of which I wait for wait baited breath. Out of all her Christmas books though (and there have been some great ones!), Christmas at Fireside Cabins is my favorite holiday book she’s written.
Lila Evans looks forward to spending a week every holiday season with her friends exploring a new town as she tries to forget the pain of losing her father. Unfortunately, this year may be their last, as everyone’s lives are starting to go in different directions. So, Lila wants to make sure it’s the best yet.
Pinewood Hills sounds like the quintessential Hallmark town, but when Lila and her friends arrive, they find a rundown cabin and a grumpy coffee shop owner. Instead of running for the hills, however, Lila feels compelled to stay and help widow Eleanor Finely, who confesses the cabins are headed for permanent closure. Lila has such a sweet and helping heart that I found myself rooting for her from the first page.
I also love that it centers around a girls trip, because if you’ve followed me for long you know I love my girls trips! And having had more than one experience where I showed up to my rental house to find it was nothing like the pictures, I could definitely relate to the predicament the ladies find themselves in when they arrive at the rundown Fireside Cabins.
Between the rundown cabin and the surly coffee shop owner who is in desperate need of a little Christmas cheer, Lila has her work cut out for her. But maybe it’s just the kind of project she needs to get her mind off missing the family she no longer has and her friends whose lives seem to be pulling them in opposite directions.
You’ll fall in love with this sweet little town and wish you could go visit Fireside Cabins yourself! ❤️️
This was a cute warm and fuzzy festive read and I really enjoyed it. It was a perfect read for the festive season with the perfect atmosphere
Loved this! It was everything you expect from a Jenny Hale festive read - there was romance, cosy moments and lots of festivities! I found myself absorbed in the story and enjoyed reading it as I could step into this festive world for a while. Brilliant, again, from Jenny Hale!
I do enjoy Jenny’s style of writing and character building. This one didn’t disappoint and kept me turning the pages till the end. Love a girlie love book. This one was just brilliant to read
A lovely snowy Christmas read. I fell in love with the Fireside Cabins and could quite understand why Lisa wanted to save them. Loads of lovely characters, especially the enigmatic Theo, and a beautiful setting make this a great Christmas read
This was a brilliant read and is being featured on my blog for my quick star reviews feature, which I have created on my blog so I can catch up with all the books I have read and therefore review.

I have absolutely adored this beautiful book and devoured it quickly. I fell in love with the setting of Fireside Cabins because of the small village of Pinewood Hills and the community vibe, despite the fact that the buildings themselves are a little rough round the edges (putting it kindly!)
I immediately liked and respected Lila. She is a dependable, friendly and confident character who is unafraid to be fully herself, whilst still somehow being empathetic due to her clear vulnerabilities. I was completely drawn into the mystery and secrecy surrounded Theo Perry, and finding out his back story was one of the many reasons why this book became an easy and addictive page turner for me.
The story itself is was far more dramatic and engaging than I was expecting, delivering far more than the romantic storyline you’d expert. This is a book about loneliness and friendship, a community coming together and falling apart, as well as the importance of honesty and faith.
This is a gorgeous, heart-warming and uplifting read. By the end of this book, the warmth evoked from the title will envelope you and you will wish that you too were part of this small, but resilient community. I’d personally love to see Jenny Hale return to this setting and/or cast of characters in future books. I would recommend this book and author to fans of Heidi Swain, Milly Johnson and Cathy Lake.
Another perfect book to get you in the Christmas spirit. The setting is absolutely transportive with a small town that seems to have Christmas figured out. I love the friendships and budding romance in this book. Lila is such a sweet and kind main character who really knows how to spread the holiday cheer. I thoroughly enjoyed Christmas at Fireside Cabins and loved the ending, giving all the heart-warming feels.
Christmas at Fireside Cabins by Jenny Hale is a contemporary romance read. This book of course as the title indicants takes place during the Christmas holiday season starting in early December and leading up to the holiday.
Christmas is always a tough time for Lila Evans having lost her father during the holidays. This year Lila has planned a trip for herself and three of her closest friends planning for them to spend December in Pinewood Hills, Tennessee surrounded by the beautiful snowy countryside at the Fireside Cabins.
After the ladies arrive at the Fireside Cabins however they find that the rentals look nothing like advertised. After meeting the owner, Eleanor Finely, and finding the business is in danger of closing Lila and her friends can’t just leave. Lila decides she is going to do whatever she can to help the struggling business as she falls in love with the town and residents, other than the grumpy coffee shop owner, Theo Perry.
Christmas at Fireside Cabins was a lot more than just romance dealing with family and friends both old and new coming together during the season of giving. There were plenty of Christmas activities to remind one of the season and plenty of spirit in the characters to pull me into the read. The setting in this one also made a wonderful place to imagine spending the holidays as the entire town seemed to be involved in the festivities bringing the season to life.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
I really enjoyed this festive read. It was heartwarming throughout and heartbreaking on occasion but I like that because it makes it feel more real and relatable. I know that sounds daft with it being Fiction but I enjoy a book thats close enough to life that you can imagine it actually happening to you, it's unlikely but possible.
I really loved the friendship between the girls and there Christmas traditions. I have a tradition with my best friend and her family that I spend Christmas eve at her house and we play games and get festive so this bit was really relatable for me.
I loved the growing friendship between Eleanor and Lila, such a beautiful thing, that shows age doesn't matter when it comes to friendships.
I loved the cover, it was really enticing and cosy. Brilliant book and I loved the characters. I was looking forward to finding out if Theo stayed and what really happened with him. I wasnt expecting what happened,.
So my second Christmas book in July and I’m on a roll because this was just perfection too!
I have wanted to read a @jhaleauthor book for about a couple of years, since I first saw people on bookstagram talk about her books. I felt a weird pull to all her stories, I can’t explain it and I also can’t explain why it’s taken me till now to actually read one rather than just saw ‘oh I can’t wait to read her books’ and look at them longingly, Please tell me y’all do this too?😂
So after finally reading one of Jenny’s books I am now completely obsessed and want to read them all. This was such a dreamy Christmas book and you all know my love and high standards that I have for my Christmas stories. It felt warm and cozy and sweet and so, so Christmassy but it also had a really interesting bit of intrigue and definitely more substance than an average Christmas book.
Lila and Theo were just adorable and I want Fireside Cabins to be real so I can go visit!
I now want to do a Jenny Hale book binge so please do leave recommendations for which ones are your fave and where I should start. I’ve also just read that a few (I think?) of her books have been made into Hallmark movies, this explains why there was such an invisible pull from me to her books. Because we all know Hallmark movies are my absolute everything.
I promise this is my last Christmas book review until a more appropriate time (probably 😂)

This was a wonderful, lighthearted read, full of love, friendship and festive cheer.
The characters were lovely, especially Lila with her big heart. Theo took a while to warm up to, but you knew that under all that grumpiness, was a nice guy.
I loved the setting of the scene. It sounded absolutely magical.
Thank you to NetGalley and Jenny for the chance to read this book.
I enjoyed this book. It was a nice, easy read which I know is not an easy thing for an author to do. It was a little convenient that things happened when and how they did but that didn't take away from what is a lovely story showing that sometimes it takes something unexpected to change your life and make you reconsider your future.
Such a cute Christmas romance!! Would make a great hallmark movie! Such a fun and feel good book. I'm a sucker for the holiday Hallmark-esque stories where someone finds their long lost Christmas spirit!
This is a super fun read. I really enjoyed this one!
Many thanks to the author, the publisher, and Netgalley for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
I love Christmas romances, and I especially love a good grumpy hero who has lost his Christmas spirit! This was so sweet and heartfelt, and it felt like a warm hug.
Holiday stories of some of my favorites! When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day. But especially during the holidays.
Please note that this book is not for me - I have read the book, However I had to DNF and because i do not like to give negative reviews I will not review this book fully - there is no specific reason for not liking this book. I found it a struggle to read and did not enjoy trying to force myself to read this book.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for the opportunity to read this book
