Lila Evans and her best friends go to Fireside Cabins for their annual getaway. She and her friends meet Theo who is very surly and owns the coffee shop in town. This does not stop Lila trying to help him get into the Christmas spirit. I enjoyed getting to know the other characters in the book, especially Rex who is an adorable little boy and Eleanor the owner of Fireside Cabins. This is a feel good Christmas romance with a little bit of mystery. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the E-ARC. This is my own opinion.
What a brilliant book - the perfect mix of romance and Christmas, two of my favourite things! I loved every moment of reading this book and I'll certainly be picking up more of Jenny Hale's books. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a heartwarming, easy-reading romance.
Really enjoyed reading this book, couldn't put it down, must admit its one that I would happily pick up again and read,
Overall I would recommend to anyone to read it, can't wait to get it on my page and let my followers know what I think about it!
Jenny Hale does it again with her cute, romantic stories! Add in some Christmas and who wouldn’t love this book!
Lila and her three friends spend Christmas together each year as a girls trip. This year looks to be the last with career changes and new significant others entering into their lives. Lila hopes to have this year’s trip be the best one yet, until she meets the new handsome, yet brooding coffee shop owner.
If you’re looking for a cute romantic Christmas book to read this year look no further. I would definitely recommend this one! Some Christmas books have very little Christmas in their story line, but there is no lack of holiday spirit here.
Thank you Net Galley for the advanced copy for an honest review.
This is the type of story that when you read the very last line, you expel a huge sigh and think...."wow, what a story!!" Simply put, I loved it!
I adored Lila's character, what a sweetheart she is and you just want to hug her tightly. She is so upbeat, no matter what is going on in her life, she just wants to help others be happy, especially at Christmas time. It made me smile when she and her 3 friends arrived at Fireside Cabins and made the best of it, even though it wasn't what they were expecting.
As for Theo, it took a bit longer to warm up to him but then as the story progressed and you find out why he's acting the way he is, your heart goes out to him. This is a Christmas story filled with love, forgiveness, friendship and trust. The end had me needing the tissues, it was so heartwarming.
I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
First off thank you to the publishers as well as NetGalley for this ARC.
Christmas ad Fireside Cabins is one of those quick reading, make your heart warm type of books. While some of the scenarios seem to be very fast moving, and super sweet; it hits you in all the right places.
Lila has doesn’t have anyone in the way of family, looking to continue her and her best friends traditions of girls week at Christmas she finds them a place to say with the promise of a cozy cabin, warm drinks, and holiday cheer. Unfortunately things don’t go as planned, and she finds herself feeling a little lonely. The cast of characters are charming, and you can really picture yourself in this quaint town. While is might all seem sickly sweet, you definitely get to see a little more from the characters, and I could absolutely see the depth beyond a classic Christmas novel.
Four women in a strange city forge a bond between themselves and create a family! They alway have a Christmas get away, but they are now going their own ways and moving forward to other areas , so this year they are celebrating earlier.
Lila is the organizer this year and she has the greatest Christmas spirit because she has no family at all and she lost her father and Christmas brings memories of him! So, she chose Fireside Cabins which are nestled in the hills of Tennessee. When they arrive they are nothing like the photos on their website! The pictures were taken from at least 15-20 years ago! No Christmas spirit was to be found just a little old lady who was beaten down by the loss of her husband and not able to get the money to keep up the cabins! The girls immediately took pity on her and stayed and made the cabin work out!
They went down the road to get their morning coffee and the Proprietor Theo was so obnoxious and rude its a wonder he had any business! Lila immediately took offense and had to endure a running repartee with the man! She knew by the hollow look in his eyes he was sad and running from something.
Lila was determined to help Eleanor restore Fireside Cabins and Discover Theos issues of why he was so rude to everyone in town.
The author has done a superb job in keeping the readers wanting to turn the pages of wanting to discover the secrets in this book! I loved the growth of the characters and the flow of the storyline!
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone!
Lila wants one last Christmas with her friends before they go their separate ways. They have booked rooms at the Fireside Cabins in hopes of spending quality time in a beautiful resort. However, disappointed in the fact that the cabin they rented leaves much to be desired. As the week winds down and Lila’s friends gone, she decides to stay at Fireside and help the elderly owner revamp the place. Can Lila do what needs to be done? The story is full of happiness and cheer with a little sorrow thrown in. You will root for Lila to have everything fixed and ready by Christmas time.
Thank you to netgalley as well as the author/publisher for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
I loved Christmas at Fireside Cabins! It tells the story of 4 friends going on what seems like it's going to be, their last Christmas holiday together. Lila feels despondent as she feels her friends are moving in with their lives while she feels she is stuck in a rut. Lila is a very caring, thoughtful lady who sees the good in everyone. I didn't want the story to end.
Lila’s not sure what she wants to do with her life; stuck in a dead end job and her best friends moving on to pastures new, she wants one last holiday together. Nestled in the town of Pinewood Hills is the Fireside Cabins resort, where Lila has booked a week away so the friends can celebrate an early Christmas. But rather than the sumptuous accommodation they are expecting, to their dismay the resort is more derelict than delightful.
When her friends are called away, Lila decides to stay and help elderly owner Eleanor bring Fireside Cabins back to life. Will Lila be able to add some festive cheer that the resort is so desperately in need of?
A lovely Christmas story which was an easy and enjoyable read.
Christmas at Fireside Cabins by Jenny Hale is the perfect holiday read. This was my first book by her and it did not disappoint me at all. This Christmas story had everything I love present in it- friends, cozy Christmas cabins, snow covered mountains and a drool worthy book boyfriend .
The story follows Lila and her girl gang who embark on their annual Christmas holiday trip, which just maybe the last as life is taking them different ways. When they reach this little town of Pinewood Hills, up in the snow covered mountains and see their cabin for the holiday it makes them rethink the trip as the cabin aren't what is supposed to be. After meeting the owner Eleanor, the gang decides to stay and help this old lady in doing what they can for the cabins.
Not forgetting the town's only coffee shop which is run by a real life (swoon worthy) Scrooge. Theo and Lila have a connection from the start and the banter that goes to and forth with them is so much fun to read. Even though Theo has a complicated past he was still a guy any woman would fall for.
The way Jenny Hale writes, I can literally picture the beautiful Tennessee hills, the sparkle of the Christmas tree lights, the smell of the scented candles and the Christmas decor in the cabins. There are also lots of Christmas treats in this book which I really wish i could have tasted.
Overall, This was such a warm & sweet read, and just what I wanted. This was a quick book, perfect to get you in the holiday spirit. So grab yourself a cup of hot cocoa, a fuzzy blanket and snuggle in for a feel good Christmas story. It has just the right amount of drama and romance to keep you turning the pages.
Thank you netgalley and the publishers for providing me with this Arc.
Christmas at Fireside Cabins by Jenny Hale is the perfect holiday read featuring 4 best friends (soon to be 5), cozy winter cabins (though a bit run-down), a coffee shop (with no name) and Christmas decoration galore!
Our main gal Lila is a waitress in Nashville, TN where she ended up alone after following her boyfriend and his music dreams and then being dumped. Since then, Lila spends a week each December with her 3 best friends on a Christmas vacation. They indulge in all the treats, cozy pajamas, cocoa and even pack their own Christmas tree! This year, Lila chose the location and picked the Fireside Cabins located just a couple hours outside of Nashville.
The crew arrives to the Fireside Cabins and they aren't quite what they expect. But the ladies start working some Christmas magic decorating and soon their cabin is alive with all the Christmas feels. As their vacation week continues, Lila's friends are gradually called back to their lives in Nashville and Lila is left by herself for the rest of the week. Will Lila suffer a lonely Christmas (again) or will she make the most of it and maybe even discover a happy future that doesn't include waiting tables?
For lovers of all the Hallmark Christmas movies, Jenny Hale's newest Christmas book will leave you wrapped in the spirit of Christmas and might make you crave some cocoa too!
would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this charming christmassy book

a charming christmas story that will bring a tear to your eyes...

A great festive read.
Lila is at fireside cabins for a pre-christmas break with her best friends. She meets Theo in the coffee shop he runs. She loves Christmas and can't believe that Theo doesn't - she get closer to him as she tries to change his mind, but he is keeping secrets from her.
Christmas at Fireside Cabins was my first book by Jenny Hale, and it did not disappoint. I actually went in with expectations of a fluffy holiday romance, and this was much more. Lila's past made my heart ache, and Theo's personal journey was such a test of their bond.
The location description was charming, and there was some great sassy banter that left a smile on my face. Once in a while, the troubles of their past seemed a tad too dramatic to get wrapped up that quickly - that would be my only negative.
Overall, it was an unexpectedly strong personal journey for both, with some holiday warmth, strong friends, a found family, and the sweet happy every after we all want at the holidays.
My first exposure to Jenny Hale’s writing was A Christmas to Remember (5 Stars), so I had high expectations for this book. Unfortunately it missed the mark a little for me.
Lila Evans is living in Nashville working at a dead-end job after her musician boyfriend dumped her. Having no family of her own due to the death of her parents, she has created one with three friends who live in her apartment building. She and her friends are about to embark on their annual holiday trip and this one may be their last as life circumstances are moving their lives in different directions. Lila has made all the arrangments to stay at the Fireside Cabins.
When the group arrives in the small, quaint town of Pinewood Hills, they get off to a rocky start at the only coffee shop in town and meet Theo Perry, the curmudgeon proprietor. Subsequently they make it to their destination only to be disillusioned by the disrepair of the resort, which was advertised in glowing terms and fantastic pictures. After they meet Eleanor Finely, the kind-hearted octogenarian owner, they decide to abandon their plan to demand a refund and stay.
The story focuses primarily on Lila and her longing for connection and a place to belong. I enjoyed most of the characters that populated the town, including Rex, a charmingly precocious 5 year old. However, the character development of Lila’s friends was a bit shallow and tangential. What kept me engaged were the descriptions of the town and the holiday events, which were so evocative of the holiday spirit.
I had difficulty with two elements of the book. First, the storyline with Theo and his mysterious family/business issues, coupled with Eleanor’s problems, seemed overly dramatic and drawn out. It was a challenge not to see Lila as a flaming codependent in all her efforts to fix things for everyone. My second issue concerns how quickly all the problems were resolved in the last few chapters. After pages of emotional angst, I felt everything fell into place too easily.
The author has written a total of eight Christmas novels. Based on my experience with these two books I will definitely check out the remaining six.
My thanks to the author, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing the opportunity to review a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.
What a lovely and charming book! I just can’t get enough of these Christmas books! This one needs to be made into a movie!
Christmas at Fireside Cabins is such a feel good Christmas romance. Christmas is tough for Lila now that she’s usually alone. Her and her 3 best friends plan a girls trip every year but this year things end up a little differently. Lila ends up finding herself alone, again. While at Fireside Cabins she meets the elderly owner, Eleanor, and instantly befriends her. The local coffee shop, Coffee, is owned and operated by Theo, a real life Scrooge. Lila’s big heart and Christmas spirit change the entire town set in the Tennessee hills and the transformation is amazing. If you’re looking for a warm hug from your book -definitely check this one out!
Jenny Hale has done it again- she made me fall even more in love with the bad boy and the holidays. :-)
Lila and her girlfriends have set off on their friendship Christmas extravaganza- and they've gotten themselves into more than they can handle. The cabin they've rented is more rustic than they could have imagined, and life just keeps getting in the way.
A little lost and lonely, Lila makes friends with the Fireside Cabin proprietor, Evelyn, and the two strike up a friendship and a recovery plan; to restore the Fireside Cabins to their original glory. Mix in the small-town feeling, and the coffee shop "bad boy" and you've got the perfect recipe for a holiday book.
Realistic characters, romance, and Christmas all add up to the perfect read. I LOVED this one!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture. As it reads on Amazon: An absolutely heart-warming and feel-good festive romance. So true. But I think sweet should be in there somewhere. It really is all of those and for me very sweet. All that yummy sounding food and the way the story unfolded. I really did enjoy reading about Lila and Theo and all of the friends to both. Loved how their relationship blossomed. All the characters were very likable. Would love to read more about Lila's friends Edie, Piper, Charolette, and Eleanore (old lady I was not fond of that term) and Theo's friends Trudy, Rex and Judd. Read more about them we can read more about Lila, Theo and baby William and see if Theo's mom did make an appearance.
