Lila loves Christmas! Lila and her three closes friends always go away a trip before Christmas and this year is no different.
Lila, Edie, Piper and Charlotte head of for a week staying at Fireside Cabins. The cabins turn out to be run down and in need of some money and TLC. On a visit to the local Coffee shop Lila meets the mysterious owner Theo, leading to how Lila looks for somewhere more permanent to call home. With the support of her friends she finds the confidence to set up home there.
Fireside Cabins are set a couple of hours drive from Tennessee in the snowy mountains. I instantly felt the magic of Christmas when the girls decorated their cabin.
With lots of love and laughs throughout. Meeting lots of characters on the way.. this is is perfect place for a Christmas Vacation.

I love any story that is centred around my favourite holiday of the year, Christmas. I also love stories set in small towns, such as Pinewood Hills, so for me this was a win/win.Christmas is a time for family and friends to get together.
My heart broke for Lila Evans and the loneliness that she felt , missing her father. Determined to do something different, she arranges a getaway with her closest friends to Fireside Cabins in the Tennessee hills. Having been to Tennessee a few years ago, I couldn’t wait to read this book.
Sadly for Lila and her friends, the cabins are not at all what they expected, run down and on the brink of closure, Lila wants to help the owner Eleanor and this was heart warming. Meeting Theo Perry and sparks fly, but Lila has the feeling that there is more to Theo than meets the eye.
Could Pinewood Hills be the place that Lila can begin again? Will she be able to help Eleanor save Fireside Cabins? One click and find out.

Christmas, friendship, love, chasing your dreams and helping others all tied up in this cozy book. If this book doesn’t put you in the Christmas mood, I don’t know what will. Lila and her friends embark on their annual Christmas vacation only to find the cabin in disrepair. They decide to make the best of it because the owner Eleanor is a delightful older lady. Theo, who owns the coffee shop in town, is quite a grouch which entices Lila to figure out why and try to make him smile. This story was just a delight.

This is a nice story, very predictable and a little cheesey at times. It's very unrealistic the time scale, she is only there a week originally and it could have been better written to incorporate the unfolding of the spark over a few days but obviously she was only there a week and it was fast forwarded but it's very obvious and unrealistic.

However it is a Christmas book and these are the most unrealistic books and it's acceptable because we all need a cozy comfy read at Christmas and this book does not let you down on this score.

Seeing past the moments when your eye rolls as situations that are just off the mark, it is a great story the location sounds lovely and it's got all the tinsel and love vibes a Christmas book needs.

I love Christmas Books! They're very feelgood :) This one started out fine but then it got slower and I couldn't identify the force behind the story or Lily's goal. It didn't give me an incentive to continue reading. Then around 30% Lily started to force herself on to Theo, not taking no for answer and as a cliche, she thinks she's destined to save him. Really? He doesn't want to be saved and clearly shows that. This is just weird! It's not romantic and definitely a bit stalkerish.... I dnf:ed it then. I hate when the protagonist shows zero self-respect.

THIS WAS SO CUTE! Sorry for the capital letters but I'm excited!
This book proves that family doesn't always mean blood. Those closest to you will always come through, and those you meet will always have a chance to settle in a special page in your heart.
These characters were great. Lila, with the big heart, wanting to help everyone and save the world and Theo, the very mysterious cafe owner capture your attention and have you flipping the pages. Supporting characters are wholesome as they come (minus Alexa, but every cute story needs a psycho). Everyone supports each other, making sure that the Holidays are spent with a warmth filled heart and joyous soul.
The last couple of chapters felt a little rushed but I didn't find anything left open, Hale did so wonderful wrapping everything up in a beautiful bow.
It was a great quick wholesome read, pulling you face first into the Holiday spirit.

Lila lost her Mother when she was born. And her Father at age twenty. She has no other family. It's Christmas time and all she wants is her surrogate family around her. Oh, my heart. Sometimes you just NEED a feel-good, uplifting, heart-warming read. When you do, read this one. The writing is wonderful and had pangs running through my chest. There's so much great chemistry between all of the characters. You can't help but love them.

Lila and her three friends always spend the holidays together. Lila's parents are deceased and the other girls' families live far away. So the girls become each others family. But this year things are a little different. They rent a cabin outside Nashville, Tennessee, and it isn't everything they thought it would be. The elderly woman that runs the place, Eleanor is doing the best she can since her husband died, but she is drowning in repairs and bills. Then there's the grumpy owner of the coffee shop. There's something curious about him. When Lila's friends have to leave and return to their jobs she stays in town and tries to help Eleanor out. What happens next can only be described as a Hallmark movie. The town of Pinewood Hills sounds like the perfect place to go to celebrate the holidays. There's romance and mystery apleanty in this story.

Great author and book. If you love a good Christmas romance book. I highly recommend this one. I couldn't wait to finish it. Hopefully this isn't a stand alone and is part of a series

This was a fun Christmad read! It starts off a little slow but by the end I had connected with the characters and couldn't wait to see how it ended.

This was a warm & cozy quick read to get you into the Christmas spirit. Lila and her three gal pals head out on their annual Christmas trip and are excited to have their own cozy cabin. However, when they arrive, they find the cabins in need of some sprucing up. They embrace the moment, decorate it for Christmas and share the holiday spirit with the woman who owns the property as well. The girls explore the area, visit the local shops, and slowly start to fall in love with the charm of it all. The story line developed with a little more "substance" than I predicted, and was a fun read overall.

Charming story of 4 friends looking for a Christmas vacation. They find cabins in Tennessee mountains. Along comes Eleanor who is struggling to get by and they are helped by the ultimate mystery man you will love this story!!

If you're looking for a festive sweet romance in which lonely people are looking for something to make them feel at home, find themselves in a cozy little town that smells of sugar and spices and snow, and everyone comes together with lots of Christmas cheer in the end, this could be your book. I love the cover.

Lila and her three friends rent a cabin for the holidays. Both her parents died so her friends are the closest thing she's got to a family, but she's afraid it's the last time they will be able to get together like this. The cabin is the perfect Christmas idyll, if your idea of the perfect Christmas idyll is extreme dilapidation. Eleanor, the owner of the cabin is a widowed old lady who misses her late husband and is struggling to pay the bills and take care of the place. Lila befriends her and wants to do something to help. They also meet Theo, who owns the local coffee shop. He is a regular Grinch and there is something mysterious about his background. Nobody seems to know what his last name is, for one thing. Lila finds him attractive in a rugged, grumpy sort of way and he seems to reciprocate the feeling but he blows hot and cold and tries to push her away. Then he goes missing.

This is one of those books in which I preferred the mystery to the resolution. In the end, everything gets wrapped up in glittery Christmas paper with a pretty bow on the top but it seemed a bit too easy to me. But that may be exactly what many people want in a holiday read, a cute, easy read with no sex scenes or swearing, and everyone is happy putting their past grievances behind them.

The writing style is flawless but there were a few things that struck me as inconsistent or unlikely. If you and your friends were in the middle of a group call discussing a mystery man while you got a text from said mystery man, would they just disconnect without asking you what the text says first? I know I wouldn't. Lila promised to call them back but she never did. Theo's phone gets disconnected and Lila complains about it in the next scene that he appears in but within a few paragraphs she assumes that the phone is operational again, and it is, with no explanation given. The town has few residents or visitors but somehow there's an amazing number of extremely Christmassy activities and businesses. These are merely tiny little nitpicks but they pulled me out of the story for a moment as I went back checking if I read it right.

Jenny Hale is the gift that keeps on giving!

Her stories are the perfect form of escapism, in the most charming, magical, warm and cozy way.

Even just looking at the cover of this book transported me to a different place before I even read a single word of the story. I found myself on a wintery holiday getaway, in a charming small mountain town somewhere, far away from the current horrors of the world currently taking place around me every second of the day, enjoying a Christmas adventure with friends and family.

Months ago I read Jenny’s book The House on Firefly Beach and found myself immersed in a magical summer, beach vacation, and this time around, I was delved into a winter wonderland.

The cozy feels I got from this book made me feel so much better, as am I in a bit of a dark place right now, and I am still feeling the happy, festive holiday spirit from this story lingering.

Although I am a Halloween queen above all, I still love Christmas and all it’s glitz and glitter and joyful magic, and this is the perfect book to read for the Christmas holiday! Even though i’m all about the spooky season right now, seeing as how it is October after all, I must admit that i’m also feeling a bit of the Christmas spirit now too! While reading I poured myself some coffee with peppermint mocha creamer instead of pumpkin spice, burned an alpine forest scented candle, and snuggled up in a blanket.

This book features 4 friends on a holiday getaway to a cabin setting called Fireside Cabins in a small, cozy town. The cabins are a bit rundown but rustic and charming in their own way. There’s a cute coffee shop with an even cuter man working at said coffee shop. Hmm, is there a romance brewing (pun intended!) in the air during this holiday getaway?

Friendship, romance, a cozy setting, Christmas galore; all of the cutest elements wrapped up and tied together like a beautifully wrapped Christmas gift.

Jenny’s writing was beautifully descriptive, and I was able to so easily and vividly imagine myself amongst the snowy setting and the rustic cabins. I was there in the quaint coffee shop, smelling the freshly brewed coffee while taking in the picturesque sights of the small town charm. I could see the Christmas lights twinkling at night and all of the other glittering holiday decor.

This book was like a picture perfect postcard come to life.

Perfect read for fans of Hallmark movies and Christmas romance stories!

Grab yourself a copy of this book upon its release, then immediately run out and buy a Christmas tree as well because it is the perfect thing to read while contentedly sitting near the tree, gazing at the twinkling lights from time to time, while snuggled up in your favorite reading spot, hot beverage in hand.

Lila Evans loves everything about Christmas and especially her annual Christmas holiday with her three friends Piper, Edie and Charlotte. Their festive holidays are the highlight of Lila’s year and this year she has booked a cabin in the snowy hills of Tennessee. It looks so idyllic there and the name of the resort already feels cosy and inviting. They are staying together in one of the Fireside Cabins in Pinewood Hills, and their hostess is widow Eleanor Finely. Lila has had a difficult year, a romance breakup, the death of her beloved father and the loneliness of being single after being one of a very happy couple. Her job as a waitress is mundane and uninspiring, so she cannot wait to leave Nashville behind and relax with her besties in their luxury hillside resort. The holiday will revive her and she will do her best to make everyone happy on their last holiday before their adult lives take very differing routes.
But everything is not as it should have been. When they reach the Fireside Cabins, an elderly lady, Eleanor the owner of the complex, comes out of her cabin in tears and apologises to them profusely, admitting that the cabins may have to close down soon and are not as they were advertised. Lila recognises her loneliness, desperation and sorrow. It is how she has been feeling recently. Instead of turning tail and demanding a refund, she and her friends decide to stay and make the best of their time together. It surely cannot be that bad.
They set off to the local coffee shop hoping to cheer up with a warm drink. The welcome they receive from the grouchy barista and owner of the small town’s “Coffee” shop, Theo Perry, is discouraging as he takes an immediate dislike to the four girls and makes his distain evident with dirty looks, avoiding all contact. They are beginning to regret choosing Pinewood Hill for their last hooray Christmas holiday, but fate soon steps in as the ladies meet warm, welcoming townsfolk, as they shake a fist at their ‘disastrous’ holiday and enjoy the tranquil and vibrant scenery and heart-warming new winter activities. This is a story about friendship, relationships and love first and foremost.
Author Jenny Hale has written eight sparklingly festive romance novels. I really loved reading about the stunning scenery and the brilliant, exciting local activities in which the four friends partook. Jenny is a skilled storyteller and creates relatable and likeable characters, each with their own personal stories which really add value to this novel, running alongside the main story, merging seamlessly. I thought the loyalty and friendship between the four friends was lovely, but my favourite female friendship was the emerging friendship between Lila and Eleanor, two lonely ladies who came to love and support each other so well. This novel was slow going for the first half of the book, but eventually the pace increased and it turned out to be exciting and involving and well worth the read.

I think this author is fresh and original and she never lets you down. This is a good read that will certainly add to your festive cheer. It’s a 3.5* review from me.

I have to tell you... I love Christmas books. I love everything about them. The warm and fuzzies, the happy but totally predictable ending, the fact that you always want to throw yourself into the pages, holiday family drama and all!!
I liked this book, but I am so sad to say I didn’t love it.🙈
Theo was probably my favorite part of this novel. Who doesn’t love a grumpy love interest who has a soft spot for children? He was real to me. Flaws and all.
I also loved the descriptions of the town and the people in it. As well as the Christmas events and activities. I want to find some place exactly like this for Christmas and spend the month of December, every year!
I really enjoyed Theo and Lilas developing relationship. Lilas teasing left me grinning and trying to hide it, lest my family ask me what’s so funny and I have to emphatically explain how cute this is. 🥰🥰🥰
That being said, there was something missing as I read this. I found myself rolling my eyes at how perfectly kind and understanding Lila and her friends were. They didn’t feel genuine to me, and I was kind of annoyed that they didn’t seem to have any faults. Like they were fairy god mother’s and would just bibbidi bobbidi boo everyone with problems. I feel like I’m a terrible person for wanting them to have true anger and be a little mean sometimes, but no one is perfect and I like to see a little realism I can relate to when reading. This made me feel disconnected to the characters. They would show some unhappiness and then automatically sweep it under the rug because they were so empathetic.
I also found the writing hard to get into. There was a lot of unnecessary repetition and emphasis. We were reminded again and again that Lila was wronged and she’s so sad at Christmas. It was redundant and a little robotic. It made it hard for me to be emotionally connected.
The ending fell a little flat after all the drama. It was cleaned up a little too perfectly (if that’s even a thing for Christmas books, but it’s just how I feel!! 😭).
This was my first book by Jenny Hale, and I will definitely be looking into her previous books.

Lila Evans has always regretted the arrival of the holiday season as it brought feelings that she didn't want to confront. Along with a few of her girlfriends they have created traditions to make this season bearable. This year will be different as the other ladies have other obligations, so they take an early trip to a cabin, but this trip takes many turns and ends up more than she can imagine for Lila at least.

Lila fell in love with the small town that this cabin ended up in and she also fell in like with Theo, the small town coffee shop owner who absolutely had some secrets and things to hide. They have some ups and downs, but with more of a novella length their story went fast and for me I didn't love that completely. I wish the author had more pages to have this love story grow and develop; it felt jarring at moments to hop from zero to in love.

I loved the plot. I loved that yes, Lila was falling in love in this romance book, but she was also trying to make decisions about her future and these cabins may be a part of her future.

If you like to watch Hallmark movies during the holiday season, then this book could be in the running to be made into the next Hallmark holiday movie.
