This book was definitely a surprise. I figured it will be a collection of instagram poems but didn't expect it to be an screenshot collection. I loved it. It was definitely a new try and I applaud the author and publisher for it.

For a book that offers an introduction to myriad poets currently active on IG, this collection does a great job. I was left wanting more, which is likely a good way for a book to conclude but the journey felt too brief. More background on the poets themselves might have been a nice touch. Well done!

I don't have Instagram, but I really enjoy reading poetry. It's a beautiful art form that is slowly dying.
The poetry presented in this collection falls mostly into the visual poetry category. I was expecting the classic stanza formatting but was surprised to find that most of the poems were written in an artistic format that I found I enjoyed. Because of the original presentation, I believe that artists and fans of poetry will find this collection enjoyable.
With this being said, some of the poems were more like inspirational quotes. Some of the "poems" were really just one-sentence mood boosters.
Overall, I did enjoy this poetry collection and I think that users of Instagram will find this book enjoyable.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Instagram poetry for every day is a collection of poems resonating to different things and aspects in life. This was a quick read for me as at least 1/3 of the poems I couldn't see due to the book coming through as a pdf version on my netgalley shelf and blurring when I tried to enlarge the page. The poems I could read were good but not the best collection I've come across. The book seemed to be more about the art and graphical element than the poetry to me.

Useful insights from Instagram and very useful in these trying times. Thanks to National Poetry Library for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

I am a big fan of poets whose striking lines and imagery can catch hold of today's 8-second attention span. This collection draws many of them together, showcasing the creativity, depth and inspiration of the poets Instagram has come to love.

The sections, ranging from 'Aspirations' to 'Identity', highlight the variety of topics poetry makes accessible and relatable. Each is filled with content from Instagram artists – stunning photography, careful illustrations and beautiful words.

Something I enjoy about social media is how it allows art to reach the masses, regardless of the artists' ages, backgrounds, qualifications or publishing experience. Therefore, anyone can create and share their work, and new voices are being heard that might otherwise have been lost.

I recommend this book to anyone with an interest in contemporary poetry, anyone who actively engages with Instagram and anyone looking for inspiration.

So let's start with my first impressions of this book. I'm not particularly thrilled by the cover–though I know it's to reflect the Instagram app icon–since it lacks any pizazz of true creativity for me, and I feel like it doesn't help showcase the WONDERFUL art and poetry within this anthology. I was also concerned because the Goodreads reviews are very mixed, with both high and low ratings. I REALLY love "internet" poetry, so I was really excited to dive into this book and see what it had to offer, but some Instapoetry can really miss for me, so I was curious to see what would happen.

Throughout this book I was excited to see poets I recognized, such as Tyler Knott Gregson and Noor Unnahar, plus some of my FAVORITE POETS such as Amanda Lovelace and <3 NIKITA GILL <3 (my all time favorite poet).

But for the most part, I was exposed to a sea of new (to me) poets that feature stunning artwork and poetry. There were so many standout poems and pieces of art that really stuck out to me and made me remember the poets names as I read this anthology. Pretty much all of the poems follow the Instagram Poetry style, obviously, which I love and fit well together despite the extreme range and variety of work featured in this anthology, which is purposeful as directly started in the Introduction.

I also really liked the layout of this book, with the poems and artwork featured like a photo (as you would see on Instagram) with words from the poet at the bottom of the page (from questions asked by the NPL, I believe) just as you would see a caption to a post. The style was simple and consistent, and really worked well for this anthology. I do with the layout would have been a bit more artistic, but perhaps it would have taken away from the artistic poetry, the clear spotlight of this book. Duh.

Though I really enjoyed reading this anthology, I did have a few issues with it. Some of the images were blurry, so blurry that I was physically unable to read them. I think )and seriously hope) that is is because I read an e-arc, and that in print these issues would be resolved and each image and poem crystal clear for the reader to enjoy. Also, like with much poetry, and particularly short "internet" poetry, I'll definitely forget a lot of the poems and art featured in this book as some was not to my particular taste, and therefore won't stick out in my memory after finishing this anthology. As I mentioned in the beginning, I wish the cover better reflected the artwork featured in this book.

Overall, I'd recommend that anyone check out this book, ESPECIALLY if they enjoy "internet" or Instagram poetry.

*** I will also be posting a review on my blog (readbyroe.com) on October 24th @ 1 pm EST with all the necessary details and a review with more personality!

Interesting take on a book. Found new Instagram accounts to follow. Loved the organization and the visuals but there wasn't a lot of meat to the work.

The format of this book was unique. I really liked how it was divided up by theme. The reason for the low review is that it was rather difficult to read. The files were so blurry.

I'm generally not a big fan of Instagram poetry, to say the least. A lot of the poets who have become famous there don't strike me as particularly original or artistic. I was intrigued by this collection since it's curated by the National Poetry Library (though I'm not sure if that's a legitimate poetry organization) and hoped to find some great poems.

In general, I did like the collection but the poems often reminded me more of Post Secret postcards than poems. Many are one line broken up with artistic photos or backgrounds. Few of them are actually legitimate good poems on their own. That's definitely an issue on IG, as longer poems don't translate well to one quick, artistic image, and shorter ones tend to be incredibly cliched angsty trite.

This was a fun read in an artistic sense but more so for the visuals than the poems.

I read a digital temporary ARC of this book for review.

I loved reading this book. It has such a unique format.
This book is divided into several ‘chapters’, all representing a certain theme (such as love, nature,...). Within these chapters, instagram poems are shown in their respective form (the famous instagram square) with a bit of explanation from the poet. I think this book is so unique and it’s amazing that it helps to support the poets who mostly put their work on instagram. I loved discovering all these new amazing poets.

Instagram trust in every art form for images and bring them to life. What can help poets promoting themselves can increase copyright problems.
I like poetry by art but this book shows that every writing you do in a platform can be clearly reused and copilated in some book.
Carefull with instagram posting, somethimes creativity can magically be redefined (even if this is not completely the case)

This was a nice collection of Instagram poetry set under different topics such as humour, love and identity. This was a very short read but was presented well. It was nice to see what poets are doing on Instagram and I enjoyed the little feedback/description under each poem.
There were a couple of issues with the format of this book which didn’t make it the easiest to read as I received it but I’m sure this will not be an issue once the official publication is released.

Instagram Poetry for Everyday is a well organised collection to show the way in which Instagram has been used to market poetry And appeal to more audiences but also how the idea of art with poetry originates to a time long before social media.
A beautiful collection with examples from instagram giving the reader plenty of new people to research and follow if not doing so already.
A solid collection of work.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in return for an honest review.

This was incredibly underwhelming. I liked the concept but save for a few poets the content was mediocre at best.

I received an e-copy of this collection on netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was very intrigued when I saw this on netgalley as I have recently found some accounts on instagram that share poetry and I really enjoy seeing them on my timeline. I liked that this book was split into sections and included the captions from instagram under each poem. However I did not feel like this was as relatable as some other poetry collections I have read previously. Some of the poems felt more aesthetically pleasing to your eyes rather than something you would stop and read fully on instagram so didn't really make much sense (to me).

Regardless of this, I will be going to follow some of the accounts on instagram to see their future work. Like all poetry, your enjoyment is personal when it comes to instagram poetry so my review and rating is nothing personal towards the artists or this book.

I liked the concept of this book more than the actual content. Objectively, I liked the idea of showcasing other artists' work and giving them a platform to show their creativity to the world. But subjectively, I think the contents of this book are too mediocre and generic for my taste. Maybe those who are just starting to read poetry will like this more than I do.
