I would like to thank Whitney Dineen and company for allowing me the chance to leave an early review for “Love is a Battlefield.” While I was hopeful that I would enjoy this book, it was simply not for me. With that being said, I do believe it is a book that many others will enjoy, it is just not the type of book that I am into at the moment. I will be giving this book a second chance at a later date.
This was an enjoyable romcom full of meddling mothers and shenanigans. While it was enjoyable, it was also unfortunately a bit forgettable.
Another gorgeous, swoon worthy romance from the pen of the talented Whitney Dineen. Her writing is pure gold...Love is a Battlefield has it all. Romance, drama, sweet and sexy moments, and characters with whom I fell in love. Can’t wait to read more by this amazing author. Happy reading everyone
Tried reading this one and it just was not meant for me. This does not mean that it is not a good book, I just was not in the right place to be reading it and have decided to not try picking it up anytime in the near future.
I had ended up losing interest in this book during the 2020 time frame probably due to life stuff. Thank you Netgalley and publishers for allowing a chance to read and review.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book! The title and this beautiful cover drew me in and i was excited to read this book!
I love reading books by Whitney Dineen. They are always so funny and have great storylines.
What drew me in first was the cover - who doesn't like camping?! LOL This book make me LOL so many times. There were so many hilarious pranks between Brogan and Addie and the meddling moms were spot on! The enemies to lovers storyline gets me every time.
It was a fun, easy-read rom com which I think everyone will enjoy. Don't miss out on this one. Can't wait to read Whitney's next book.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I had a really good time with this book. It was nice and simple. Our characters were likable for the most part, although I must admit that Billy was the real star of the show in this book.
I know that this was a romance, and it was definitely there, I just wish there was more. It wasn't until the very end that they actually got together,
Could not enjoy this. The meddling of the mothers was despicable, and the condescending attitude everyone gave the heroine almost felt abusive. This one totally missed the mark of light and fluffy and harmless for me!
This book had a cute story line. I enjoyed the banter between the characters and the exchanges between the mothers. I felt like it ended too soon and the characters could have been developed further. I felt like the story could have been expanded more, overall a quick but enjoyable read.
An enjoyable read. Took me a little bit to get into it. There were some good laugh out loud moments. First time I've heard of this author and would definitely be keen to buy a book from this author.
This review is well delayed because although I read this months ago, I cannot find anything to remark upon, because the book was not that remarkable. Hits all the notes of a rom com with formulaic accuracy, but there is nothing especially distinctive or endearing about the narration, characters, or scenarios. This is not to say it was bad; it was coherently written and checked all the romance novel boxes, happy conclusion and all. As a bonafide "young person" a la Pete Davidson, I can say with some authority that it reads like middle aged moms texting and trying to be "like the kids!" - which is actually a storytelling device used in this book. Satisfying, but kind of like a moderately satisfying meal, where afterwards you think, I could still eat something else. Well, I could still read something.

Addison HATES Oregon. Well maybe not all of Oregon but definitely the Cavanaugh brothers who made Addies yearly camping trips a nightmare. 20 years later and she is still traumatized. Brogan Cavanaugh is home to rest and recharge when he sees Addie again. You know what they say about the line between love and hate...
I liked this book. The pranks that are played on the characters are almost another character in the book. The one thing I had an issue with was the style it was written in, once I got use to it the book went better. I was hoping for a bit more steam but this book was steam less. I enjoyed the book but probably wouldn’t read again.

Love is a Battlefield!
I was pleasantly surprised by this book! Addison was tormented by Brogan and James while camping with their families in her youth. The two boys would prank her mercilessly, to the end result, she now hates camping.
Addy was set to go to the Cayman Islands with her mother for a well earned vacation. But plans were thrust upon her when her mother insisted her “Aunt” Ruby (family friend) needed Addy’s designer talent for an interior design emergency in the Oregon wilderness! At the same time, Brogan is forced to go home to Oregon when his brother and he feel something is wrong with their mother. Something weird is going on for both Addy and Brogan, but they are forced to spend time together while pranks are happening around them, and Addison’s mother hides away. What is the end result? Everyone is in on bets, pranks and trying to help Addison get revenge, while she prepares the resorts cabins for glamping.
I loved the strong character of Addison, while she didn’t have enough self control to stop herself from betting she could rough it for a month. I loved watching Brogan realize that Addison is the woman for him and the teasing familiarity he approached her. The meddling mothers (particularly Ruby) was hilarious! Some of the pranks were harmless while others seemed a little dangerous. The icing was the character of Billy! His story was one I didn’t totally see coming!
I can’t wait to read James story!

There’s a fine line between love and hate. At least that's what two best friends and meddling mothers believe as they attempt to “parent trap” their adult children.
Brogen and Addie have been at odds their whole lives. They grew up hating each other. They were forced into family vacations that resulted in prank after prank being pulled by Brogen on Addie. She was tormented by him. She would love nothing more than to live out her life never seeing him again, but as luck would have it her Mother had other plans for her.
Being dragged to Oregon with her mother to help with an interior design emergency, Addie is soon thrust into the all grown up hottie that is Brogen sites. It doesn’t take long for the two to be at odds like old times, but this time is different. This time there is no denying the attraction they have to each other.
A bet is made between the two that will either drive the two of them closer or further apart. Will the two resort to their old childish pranking wars or will they succumb to the attraction building between the two of them? Will their mothers meddling be caught?
Love is a Battlefield is fun and light. It's perfect for a beach read or just an easy pick me up read. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next book in the series. Love is a Battlefield is the first book in the Seven Brides for Seven Mothers series.

An enjoyable rom-com featuring matchmaking, meddling moms who are determined to get their kids together by forcing proximity. Featuring an engaging cast of characters, this book is good introduction in Dineen's new series. I look forward to the next one in the series.
Thank you NetGalley and Whitney Dineen for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
Libby and Ruby have been best friends for decades and they want nothing more than to see their children happy, especially if it was together! The two come up with the perfect plan to lure Libby’s daughter, Addison and Ruby’s daughter, Brogan, to Oregon and hope the rest is magic. Of course that’s not how real life works and not quite how their plan played out... or is it?
A mix between The Parent trap and The Simple Wild, this quick romantic comedy fell just this side of good enough to rave about for me. I thought this was a very typical and predictable romance, but I also love those so it’s not necessarily a complaint. The one thing I REALLY didn’t like was the mom POV just randomly thrown in there with no connection to what you were currently reading half the time. It was so distracting and their dialogue was very immature for two grown women. I couldn’t stand them.
I also thought that Brogan’s instant take to Addison felt a little less than believable with how cold she was, but different strokes for different folks!
What a fun read! Had a hard time putting this one down. Long time friends decide to play matchmakers with their son and daughter, and the sparks fly. Made me laugh, smile and overall feel for the characters, which is nice. Would highly recommend this one, and look forward to the next in the series.
A story where mothers decided to play Cupid who believed that their kids are meant to be together. Addison cannot stand Brogan due to all the prank that he and his brother did to her during their childhood to the extent she have never been back to the place where all the memories are. The story develop on how Addison decided to turn the table on Brogan and take revenge against him. But Brogan is no longer the mischievous boy he was before. Addison began to take notice of the “grownup” Brogan, something that she not ready to do.
It was a warmth read for me. What with both mothers trying to make both Addison and Brogan see what is meant to be and at the same time trying not to be obvious with their plan. It was an indeed a good yet funny to read book
