The title of this book got my attention and reading the description made me more interested to read this book. However, like other reviewers, I found this book to be slow.
It is told from the perspective of the narrator, Laura, only. Laura is a new mom and she discovers a mysterious card within the congratulations on you new baby cards. The card says that her husband is a murderer and thus the mystery begins. So is he or isn't he?
Throughout the book we are told of her many feelings and everything she does that day. Because we are privy to her entire thoughts, it didn't give much insight into the motives and personality of the other characters. I think this is the reason I didn't care for the main character or the other characters in this book. I felt that there were a lot of red herrings thrown into this book that made me wanting more information from the overall final outcome.
Thank you Net Galley for providing this book.
What secrets could you hide? Would you if you knew they could come back to haunt your new amazing life? In a village where everyone knows everyone and you are the outsider follow a lady who just got everything she ever wanted as things start to unravel to reveal TWO big secrets.. Recommend? Yes

Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Loved the writing and the main characters. A twist i definitely did not see coming right at the end. I was gripped for the get go.
Five Little Words

This book is one of the most bingeable thrillers I’ve read in a while. It just hit all the right spots for me. I was sucked into this one in the first chapter and it didn’t let up until the very end. This was a one day read for me.
Laura Caldwell is living her best life. Married to Conor and just had their first child a son, Shay. Laura is so very pleased with her life imagine her surprise when she opens what she expects to be a “Congratulations on Your New Arrival” only to find an anonymous card with these five little words: “Your Husband is A Murderer.” Laura is obviously stunned by the card but the fact that there is actually a missing woman all of the news in her village really amps up her fear and tension.
Laura questions everything she thought she knew about her husband. This book was addictive and I just couldn’t stop reading until I discovered exactly what happened to Vicky Murphy, the missing woman.
Thank you to Netgalley, Jackie Walsh, and Hera Books for my digital copy of the book to review.
This book was amazing from the start!
The characters are well developed and realistic, really allowing you to feel a connection to them all, and even find yourself relating to them in various ways.
The storyline had the perfect level of suspense, keeping you on the edge of your seat as more and more of the plot began to unfold.
And then there is the ending, which I have to say was extraordinary and really gave me chills.
This is an intense, brilliantly written book that everyone should read.
Unfortunately this one fell flat for me. Definitely think its a "it's me, not the book" issue though as there are so many great reviews. I just found the story's pace to be really slow and lost interest.
This was the slowest book in the history of ever.
Not a slow burn, just slow...
Was it a decent story? Yes, but the character development was a little weak and the main character behaved strangely and made choices that no one on Earth ever would and that drives me bonks.
Interesting twist, so three stars.
A clever, twisty thriller that keeps you guessing throughout. I have never read anything by Jackie Walsh but will be keeping an eye out for her future work
Murder mystery, fairly well written, found it hard to put down and never saw the jaw dropping end coming! Lots of suspects to choose from!
4 stars
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher and author for an ARC of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.
Bit late in the day but I have been having personal problems and have not been able to concentrate,on anything until I started this book. Love it, read it in 2 days. A story about lies love and trust. Laura has a secret in her past, and so does Conor, they meet fall in love marry and have a baby very quickly. They both have secrets in their past. Secrets which impound on the present. Add mother in law and sister to the mix and a really enthralling story emerges. Thank you for allowing me to read this Arc. Sorry it took me so long.
This would have been an outstanding read., The writing was good, storyline was intriguing and the characters held your interest. But, the book dragged. Would I read the author again? Yes. Good ending. Thanks to e, the author and the publisher for the arc of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving this book in this manner had no bearing on this review.
Pay attention! There is so much happening in this book and you won’t want to miss a word of it! Fast paced and full of twists, this books draws the reader in very quickly, making them invested in the outcome. Secrets abound and you will question who is the “good” side of the relationship equation. A really great mystery thriller and hopefully one of many from this talented author.
This was a really slow book. Not necessarily a slow but just a slow book in general. It was a decent story but the chafacter development was weak. The twist however was interesting and allowed me to give it 3 stars!
Unfortunately in this genre a book needs to stand out but this one was like so many others. It was good a bit suspenseful but thats about it. I would still recommend this to fellow readers.
Laura is married to Conor they have just had a little baby boy.
They arrive home from the hospital to cards for the baby Laura opens one and it has the words Your husband is a murderer.
A barmaid in the village named Vicky has been murdered.
Can Laura trust Conor as they hadn't been together long before she fell pregnant.
Does she know all there is to know about him or is he keeping secrets .
He's not the only one keeping secrets .
Loved this book great read
Thanks NetGalley
This book hooked me from the very first page. So many twists and turns that were unexpected. I finished it in two nights, I just had to know what happened!
I was drawn into this story from page one and it kept me guessing the entire time. There were quite a few twists and turns but I never quite figured them out, which is always good for a thriller!!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
This was an interesting thriller about secrets. Everyone has them. There were certainly some twists which I loved.
Many thanks to Hera Books and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
Five Little Words: This book is jaw dropping. Full of twists and bombshells from the first chapter is a fast paced roller coaster ride that keeps you guessing until the shocking conclusion.
Wow! I honestly was drawn to the book by it's cover and I'm glad I was. Initially, I wasn't sure the book was for me, it seemed so drawn out at first. Then boom my interest was piqued and I didn't look back. The chapters are short and that makes for an easy read and the book is well written. Everyone has a secret in this book and some are much bigger than others. This is a good domestic thriller full of intrigue and suspense.
