Disclosure: I received an ARC of The Little Christmas Shop on Nutcracker Lane from the publisher for an honest review.
This has been on my TBR for several years now, and I can’t seem to make myself finish it. I’m sorry! I’m sure someone will love it, but it just isn’t for me.
This is a Hallmark movie in a book. Such a cute Christmas story! I love the idea of a nutcracker coming to life and wooing the shop girl. The angst of the two main characters was just enough and perfectly balanced with the cuteness of the story. I could definitely see this being a movie!
It's a Christmas hidden identity romance with all the Christmas magic.
This is a delightful Christmas read. Lovely characters and a good storyline. I so wanted to visit Nutcracker Lane (is there such a lane?) if there is one!
It's a ;lovely warming story, you just want to devour in one sitting, in front of a log burner, with the snow outside and a glass of hot mulled wine - bliss!
Gorgeously festive and full of sparkle!
Oh, I do love a Christmas book, I read them throughout the year, and this is a real festive feast for the eyes, and I absolutely loved it!!

I finally was able to read and not DNF this time. It was a cute and light hearted Christmas story. Now it’s making wish it was Christmas.
A wonderfully, lighthearted read.
I loved the characters and the sense of community around Nutcracker Lane! I loved how all the shop owners came together to save something that meant so much to them all.
I enjoyed the humour in the book. There were plenty of times when I ended up laughing out loud.
Thank you to Jaimie Admans, NetGalley and publishers HQ Digital for the chance to read this book.
Would definitely recommend for anyone who loves lighthearted, christmasy reads.

The Little Christmas Shop on Nutcracker Lane
by Jaimie Admans
Nia has always wanted to have a shop on Nutcracker Lane now the opportunity has come about. One night after closing her shop and dumping her cheating boyfriend she makes a wish on the magical nutcracker on nutcracker lane not expecting anything in Her life to change.
A really well written and wonderful feel good book for the festive time of year .
This book has everything a festive feel good book should. Lovely book for Christmas with a Prince Charming and all .
Getting your dream can be complicated, and I suspect Nia Maddison would agree. Fortunately, as co-proprietor of the newest shop on Nutcracker Lane specializing in all sorts of Christmassy crafts, Nia comes with a special brand of optimism.
Therein lies the charm of Jaimie Admans's The Little Christmas Shop on Nutcracker Lane. Sure, Nia realizes the Lane had changed a bit since her childhood visits. Decorations have become sparse, shopfronts are looking empty, and when was the last time she actually saw anyone make a wish at the mysterious and possibly magic six-foot nutcracker from which the Lane takes its name? Yet to Nia, it's still a Christmas filled with possibilities. What could be better?
Admans has carefully structured the rest of the book around this idea in what becomes a complete love letter to the Christmas season. From the Scrooge-like accountant who hides behind the pseudonym E.B. Neazer while threatening the Lane's existence, to Nia explaining the magic of the season through a careful selection of Christmas films and songs, Admans has dropped in a series of Easter eggs—err, Christmas crackers?—fit to warm the grinchiest of hearts. It's almost impossible to read this without a carol or two getting stuck in your head.
Even with what could have been a Christmas overload, though, Admans understands the need for balance. After all, it is a romance, and Nia's first meeting with James, a shopkeeper from next door, is genuinely cute. Not content with just cute, though, Admans tosses in a dose of potential magic appropriate for the season with a mix of drama that keeps things from becoming overly saccharine. It's more candy cane than sugar cookie.
Still, above all, Nia is focused on the dream of a perfect Christmas. With her, and The Little Christmas Shop on Nutcracker Lane, it's hard not to have one.
Tried reading this one and it just was not meant for me. This does not mean that it is not a good book, I just was not in the right place to be reading it and have decided to not try picking it up anytime in the near future; however, the first chapter is much more intriguing than I anticipated and *MIGHT* pick this one up near the holidays this upcoming year when I will adjust my review.
I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is well written and the characters are described well. I absolutely adored this Christmas Romance book. The characters were phenomenal. The writing style of this book from the first page you are not reading the characters you are the characters. This ebook is in stores for A$4.99 (AUD).
Loved reading this book and author. I highly recommend her books. Enjoy reading this book and other books
The Little Christmas Shop on Nutcracker Lane by Jaimie Admans is a contemporary romance standalone novel. This one is of course set during the Christmas holiday season in a quaint little village setting.
Nia Maddison has always dreamed of running her own shop on Nutcracker Lane since she was a little girl and had visited the enchanting village. Now that Nia’s application has finally been accepted she’s excited to be a part of the magical lane although it’s not quite what it once had been.
Unfortunately for the shopkeepers of Nutcracker Lane the new owner seems to be Scrooge himself with so many budget cuts and changes. When Nia runs into a new store owner who seems just as Grinchy she can’t help but want to show him the magic of what Nutcracker Lane used to be.
The Little Christmas Shop on Nutcracker Lane is not the first book I’ve read from author Jaimie Admans and it certainly won’t be the last either. I always enjoy these contemporary romance stories from the author and the first thing that I always take notice of is how she brings her settings to life where I feel I’m right there with the characters. This book was a nice Christmas treat that put the magic back in the holiday to warm those Grinchy hearts during the season.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
If you want a book to get you in the mood for Christmas this one is definitely it. Full of the magic of Christmas with wonderful characters makes this the perfect warm cosy book to curl up with
The Little Christmas Shop n Nutcracker Lane was such a cute read during the holidays. Nia is such a relatable character - someone who is working jobs she hates to be bale to pursue her dream.
I loved Nutcracker Lane and wish there was a place like that near me. Whenever I travel during the holidays, I always hope to find a Christmas market because I LOVE those!
This story absolutely reminded me the importance of shopping local all year round and how important our local shopkeepers are to our community.
I did guess the surprise pretty early on while reading this one, but I still enjoyed getting to the twist itself.
This was a brilliant read and is being featured on my blog for my quick star reviews feature, which I have created on my blog so I can catch up with all the books I have read and therefore review.
