4/5 stars!

The Little Christmas Shop on Nutcracker Lane is a Hallmark Christmas movie in a book and I LOVE IT!

Nia has always dreamed of having a shop on Nutcracker Lane and the dream has come true this year! but it might be too late because the new owner wants to sell the lane. Nia is determined to reinstate the Christmas magic to inspire the grinchy new owner that Nutcracker Lane and all its adorable shops are worth saving! She doesnt have to do it alone either because her shop has a hunky new neighbor to help her out!

This was a delightful little holiday read! While it was a bit slow in the middle and long winded, overall I enjoyed the story. It had all the elements of a festive story that we know and love - adorable Christmassy setting, holiday magic, family and of course, a cute love story between the main characters!

What I liked most about this one was the setting. It took place on Nutcracker Lane, a cute street dedicated to holiday shops during the Christmas season. Picture a Christmas market! It sounded really cute and made me want to visit!

Beautifully written heartwarming Christmas story. Loved everything about it, Nutcracker lane is where I want to be this Christmas, small businesses coming together to save the lane from Scrooge. The nutcracker history there was a lovely touch. Perfect Christmas story.

The perfect read this time of year to get in to the Christmas spirit. Very romantic, some parts were very atmospheric and the relationship between Nia and James was lovely and believable, with an extra little bit of magic thrown in!
I thought that some parts were a little bit strung out and repetitive, but the general feeling of the story wasn't compromised by this.
A perfect little bit of festive cheer.

I received an electronic ARC from HQ through NetGalley.
Charming holiday love story with a slow pace that allows readers to relax and appreciate the characters relationship. Nia is totally committed to Nutcracker Lane - a delightful Christmas shopping area that hypes all of the joy and fun of the season. It's her first year as a shopkeeper though she has been coming since she was a small child. Sadly, the mall is not as much of a community place as it used to be. She meets James, a fellow shopkeeper, and grinch. He despises everything about the Christmas season. He offers to help with the merchandising for Nia's shop and she commits to un-grinch him. Readers pick up very early where this will go and it's a delight to see the relationship build and unfold. Together, they work to save Nutcracker Lane and rally the other shopkeepers and community to help. The expected conflict is also predictable but Admans handles the reveal in a smooth manner. The emotions come through as realistic for all involved. I like that she felt no need to rush their relationship and let the story wind out at a relaxing pace. This works as it's set against the frantic rush of the Christmas season.
A truly great book to read with your own cup of hot chocolate or holiday spiced tea to treat yourself to a break from the holiday stresses.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

This may as well have been written for me specifically- Christmas shops, an infinite number of nutcrackers, and holiday movies?? Nia is one of my favourite protagonists of 2020- she has flaws like any of us, but knows what she loves/wants, and that is refreshing to see. The question of whether or not James is really a nutcracker is a fun theme to run through, and is a very clever framing device. And the whole of Nutcracker Lane was just perfect. If running a Christmas store in Nutcracker Lane isn't the dream, I don't know what is!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishing house and the author for the opportunity to read a complimentary advance reader copy of this book in return for a review based upon my honest opinion.

This book was so pleasant and uplifting to read. I was snuggled in my favourite chair with my electric fireplace burning, the wind blowing outside and a cup of hot cocoa, it was the perfect way to read this book; a perfect start to the holiday season. This book is everything I hoped it would be, just like my favourite Hallmark movies, lovely characters and a heart warming storyline. Nia has always dreamed of having a shop on the Nutcracker Lane, she finally gets her wish but Nutcracker Lane is not the bustling place it was when she was a child; could this be its swan song? While prepping to open her shop the next day, she makes a wish on the giant nutcracker at the entrance, she wishes for Prince Charming, someone just for her, she’s so tired of being cheated on and lied to by men. The next day she has a chance encounter with a fellow shop person, is he her prince charming, or is he not who he appears to be; either way Nia slowly falls head over heels for him but is it too late to protect her heart and is it too late to save Nutcracker Lane. If you like Christmas books this is a do not miss, it left me feeling warm and fuzzy.

There is nothing Nia loves better than Christmas and at last she is given the opportunity to run a Christmas shop on Nutcracker Lane just as she always wanted since visiting as a child. On the day of opening, she finds a rival decoration shop opposite and can’t resist checking out the competition. There’s instant chemistry with the shop owner, James but Nia has to be cautious after a series of bad relationships . Not only that but the future of Nutcracker lane is jeopardy with Mr E.B Neaser threatening you close the lane at the end of the season.

This would be a lovely festive read for the lead up to Christmas. I could picture Nutcracker lane perfectly and I enjoyed learning about the different shops and traditions on the lane. It was a bit cheesy, slow and predictable - I guess the twist early on and was waiting for the reveal for some time. The build up of the relationship between Nia and James went on for too long and I found myself skipping ahead for something to gauge my interest again.

That said, there are were some lovely charming moments in the book, particularly the random acts of kindness featured in the book. It’s a nice easy read especially if you are sat by your Christmas tree with mulled wine and a minced pie.

This book is perfect to get you in the mood for Christmas. It reads like an English version of a Hallmark Christmas movie and I mean that as a compliment, as I’m addicted to those! The banter and Christmassy details are great although I do agree with other reviewers about the over use of the word ‘snort’. It’s an uplifting, lighthearted take on the theme of A Christmas Carol, with a nutcracker thrown in the mix too!

Nutcracker Lane is a magically place at Christmastime. Nia finally gets to have her own gift shop on the Lane. She has waited for years. But then things in her personal life go downhill and she is missing a little Christmas spirit. So she makes a wish on the Magical nutcracker, asking for her Prince Charming. Will she find her Prince at the new show across the street? Will all her dreams come true? This little story will put you in the Christmas mood in a hurry. Everyone loves a love story at Christmas with all the lights and decorations.

If you want a book that will totally get you in the Christmas spirit, this is the one you must read!
I loved Nia, James, the Christmas village, the storyline and the general good feeling that this book evokes.
Nia and James are both shy of starting a new relationship but it seems the magic of Christmas and the magical nutcracker have other plans. They are drawn together and the ensuing plan to make James "not hate" Christmas provides many humorous moments. I loved the twist at the end too! This would make a wonderful holiday movie!
Thank you to NetGalley and HQ for allowing me to read this book. The opinions are entirely my own.

Thank you NetGalley, Jaimie Admans and HQ Digital for the copy of The Little Christmas Shop on Nutcracker Lane. This is my personal review.
This is a story that will put a smile on your face and a warm Christmas feeling in your heart.
The Christmas theme is what we all need this year and escaping to Nutcracker Lane is just where to do that.
Nia is convinced she will never find true love after she gets a text from the guy she is dating and it was not a text for her but the other woman he is seeing at the same time as Nia.
Christmas magic is just what Nia needs and a Nutcracker is where it all begins.

While one of the things that really makes it the holiday season for me is reading christmassy rom coms, even I draw the line with how unrealistic the story can be before I stop enjoying it. There were times early on in the book I thought the story line was going down a ridiculous path and that I would have to abandon it but then all of a sudden the author grabbed the reins and pulled the story In a different direction which left me loving the book! The grinchy one liners and fun banter between the characters had me laughing and making notes to use those jokes in real life. The only thing I would change is having the author try to find some different adjectives than “snort” , “left crescent moon shapes in my palms” and a few other overly repetitive words. All in all, it was a cute easy read that really emphasizes the true meaning of Christmas.
I voluntarily read this book and these thoughts and opinions are of my own.

I loved the concept of this book, the nutcracker brings such joy at Christmas. I found myself hoping that the magic of the nutcracker would be true and that he had come alive. It is true but in the way of a human heart being slowly thawed and unfurled to the delights of Christmas, but not in a cheesy way. The way that Nia shows James what Christmas means by showing kindness is pure joy and just what is needed this year.

This was the first Jaimie Admans book that I’ve read and I’ve going to be blatantly honest and say that it didn’t blow me away. I felt that you really had to be quite obsessed with Nutcrackers to fully understand Nia’s love for the wooden decorations.

Some parts of the book felt forced, and dragged out – and I cringed when Nia kept talking to herself saying on several occasions that she wanted to hug James, but she held back as she didn’t know him well enough, even though they’d spent the evening together and he fell asleep on her sofa. That didn’t feel right to me – especially as she came across to me as a warm, huggy type of character.

I didn’t understand quite what Nutcracker Lane was – there were times when in my head I was thinking it was like a Christmas Market, or The Lanes in Brighton and other times I thought it was like an indoor market but I wasn’t too sure.

Also, it was a very predictable story, as soon as James’s character appeared I knew where it was going to go and who he was – although I had to wait until 82% of the book, to be told.

Saying all that (sorry for the negativity!) once the story got going it was an enjoyable read. It was well told, and I loved all the references to Christmases gone by…the foil decorations, the board games and traditions all made me smile.

And now…wherever I go at the moment, my eyes are drawn to nutcrackers whereas before I never really noticed them, and you know what? I might actually buy myself one this year…but not a six foot version!!

This book just oozes Christmas from every page. It conjures up gorgeous festive images and a lovely cosy feeling and hot chocolate to boot. The perfect Christmas book to curl up with this year.
Nia finally gets a spot to open her Christmas shop on Nutcracker Lane and is really disappointed to find another festive store opening opposite hers.
She remembers her childhood memories of Nutcracker Lane and is determined to see it sparkle and shone again, despite the owner seeming to want to put all the owners at war with each other.
Nia has a soft spot for Nutcracker soldiers and Christmas jumpers .
When she meets James, the owner of the all singing christmas store, he seems to be a real grinch, waiting for his stint at the store to be over. She befriends him and tries to instil a bit of christmas magic and it's lovely to see him making an effort to Christmas up.
It really is a wonderful story of childhood memories, christmas magic and romance alongside a real life christmas village. What more could you ask for?

The Little Christmas Shop on Nutcracker Lane by Jamie Admans.
Nia loves Christmas and has always dreamt of opening a shop on Nutcracker Lane. This year her little shop selling homemade Christmas decorations is open. A shop across the Lane from her also opens selling Christmas decorations. Nia decides to take a peek, but after knocking over the 6ft Nutcracker in front of the shop and breaking its arm, Nia is promptly introduced to James. James, the shop's owner, is also nursing a broken arm, for a brief moment, Nia imagines that James is the Nutcracker.
Enjoy discovering whether James is a nutcracker who comes to life, or something even more extraordinary!
The story carries us to the Christmas world of Nutcracker Lane, and Nia's determination to save the Lane from re-development.
I relished how Nia works with James and the rest of the shop keepers to try and save Nutcracker Lane from closure.
I love the thought of there being a real Christmas Tree Farm, somewhere in Wales.
A well-written, magical festive read with times of deep sadness to moments of pure happiness, you will find both in this engaging story.

Lovely story to leave you feeling all Christmassy. Made me want to visit at Christmas Market and buy a Nutcracker. Also had a bit of fairytale in there with a lovely prince. If you want a heart warming story to give you a Christmas glow you won’t be disappointed

At first I wasn’t sure ‘The Little Christmas Shop on Nutcracker Lane’ was for me. I found all the times ‘laughing’ and ‘snorting’ was mentioned annoying. But, please stick with it, I’m so glad I did. This is such a lovely story. It’s a totally obvious plot, but that doesn’t stop it being just a really lovely read. The characters are so loveable, especially James. I found myself smiling (or at times crying) while following their story. I’d certainly read more from this author and I’m so glad this was my first festive story of the year.
