So... Are we all going to ignore the MULTIPLE sex*al assault scenes because they "fall in love" at the end??!
The amount of time Reese took liberties with Shanna, without her consent, just because he thinks she is his ex-lover is atrocious, his entitlement was sickening!
.
The storyline was full of plot holes and inconsistencies, which were glaringly obvious. There were a lot of parts that didn't make any sense, like, who was white eagle and why it was only Shanna who acknowledged his existence in her life, also, her abilities to fight and take down several men in one go were really weird, with how they were described, you'd think she trained everyday, not work retail at her best friend's family business.
.
The love aspect was completely lacking, in my opinion, their chemistry and interactions were forced and void of emotions, it felt like the author was trying so hard to convince us of their love.
.
The last few chapters involved a lot of eye rolling scenes, everything was suddenly put to rights, and it was a convenient occurrence after the other.
Obviously, wasn't a fan.

This book was supposed to be an exciting action adventure. After reading the description, I was very excited to read the whole book. But the book was not as described.
The heroine is traveling on a train when it gets into a catastrophic accident. She was playing ball with a young boy when the accident occurred and she wakes up laying on the ground with a gun pointing at her. The hero is also traveling on the same train, pulls her from the wreckage and recognizes her. He finds a girl who looks like his previous love interest and he pulls a gun on her because she double crossed him. Okay, there is a train wreck, with dead bodies laying around, probably looks like hell on earth with smoke and fire, and he pulls a gun on her. Doesn't ask if she is okay, doesn't try to give her water, doesn't look for injuries, just starts accusing her of blowing up the train with her group of men. He sounds like an indiot, not a US Marshall. Then for the the next couple of chapters, all the hero does is bicker with the heroine about who she is and he keeps asking her why she did what she did. There are many disjointed parts. For example, the hero is whistling a jaunty tune, walking along and three pages later, he is suffering from a large gash on his leg that is angry and infected looking. This book doesn't make any logical sense. Normally, if there is a train wreck, the bodies are pulled out, the survivors wait for help because the train never arrives and people come looking to find out why. The survivors are normally in shock, and can't think beyond immediate needs. I don't want to give to many spoilers but this book fell flat for me on so many levels. There are many disconnected ideas and places where the author had a chance to make a cohesive story that weren't taken. I give it 2 stars for proper grammar usage, but as to the content of the story and lack of character development, I can't give it more. I do not recommend this story.

Shanna Johnston is returning home after visiting her mother when a huge explosion careens the train off its tracks. Shanna doesn't know what happened but when she wakes up in the arms of a handsome man, her nightmare is just beginning. He aims a gun in her face and keeps calling her a different name. He swears he knows her and is going to bring her crimes to justice. She tries to explain to him but to no avail. It turns out he's a US Marshall sent to her town to bring a gang to justice. The more time she spends with him, the greater her feelings grow. Can she prove to him she's not the criminal he purports her to be and make him fall in love with her and not the other woman he seems obsessed with or is he speaking the truth about her mysterious past?

A Fallacious Seduction is a fantastic historical western romance I couldn't put down. From the very beginning, I connected with Shanna. She appears to be fragile but has incredible strength and resilience upon closer inspection. She's had to deal with heartbreak and humiliation but continues to hold her head up. Virginia Barlow writes with honesty and shares what life was life for many women on the frontier. The descriptive narration paints a raw picture of the wild west which swept me away. The plot moves at a good pace with plenty of conflicts, misunderstandings and colorful characters. There's a lot going on in this story but at the heart of it is Shanna and Reese. The romance between these two is classic enemies-to-lovers but with a fun western twist. I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the ending. If you're looking for a feisty heroine in the wild west frontier, pick up A Fallacious Seduction. Fans of Cynthia Wright will love this tale. Highly recommend!

The premise is very intriguing and made me want to read the book the second I got a copy of it. But sadly, the narration feels off to me. The author tells a lot instead of showing to the readers what is happening and what's going on in the characters' minds. It's sad because the story itself is a bit good and different, but the narration just throws me off I didn't enjoy my entire reading experience of this book.
