This book was lighthearted fun in a fairy tale setting. Three sweet fairy godmothers, who live in Ever After, Missouri, want to increase their magic (which is only done with love) by bringing people to Ever After for their weddings. To promote the town as a wedding venue, they talk two of their godchildren, Lucky and Ransom, into staging a fake wedding for publicity. The two were a couple in college, but things went bad between them and they haven't been together since.
Lucky and Ransom were good characters for this rom-com of a story. Together they were a great couple, but there were some major issues happening that couldn't be explained. Magic was everywhere, and there was a lot of humor. All in all a fun book.
Utterly adorable.
Get out your best meddling outfits, because these fairy godmothers are ready to meddle!
.
Lucky’s name does not mean she is lucky. In fact, she is decidedly unlucky.
.
Ransom is decently lucky, handsome and successfully
.
The two of them agree to a fake wedding at the Godmother’s request and what transpires is a fun, magical second chance at love. If you are in to a fairy tale with some steam this is for you!

Thank you #Netgalley and #zebra for an arc in exchange for an honest review
I didn't enjoy this story. I felt the characters were a rather flat and i didn't really connect with them during the narrative.
I wouldn't be recommending this to a friend.
I volunteered to read this book through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is well written and the characters are described well. The writing style is great. The setting is peaceful. It makes you want to visit there. It is in stores now for $15.95 (USD). Thw romance is sweet and slow. The pacing of this story is great. I definitely can't wait to read more books by this author in the future. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
Cute book that i enjoyed. I loved the characters and the story. I want to go to that town!
I received an advance copy of this book. ;-)
First of all, I would like to apologize for not providing my feedback sooner.
I was going through my backlog shelf at NetGalley today where I found this title which was unfinished by me. I know that this book certainly has its audience but sadly it wasn't me. I think I dnfed it a long time back and never wrote a review, yet here I am to rectify my mistake and providing my honest review. I certainly don't remember all of it but I think I enjoyed the first few chapters and after that, I gradually lost my interest.
Many thanks to the publisher for this review copy via NetGalley.
DNF - did not finish. I decided not to finish this title. It was not for me. Thank you, publisher and NetGalley for the early copy.
Do you ever have one of those books where you read the description and are instantly excited at the creativity of the plot, and you just know you need to read it? That's exactly what happened with me when I came across Fairy Godmothers Inc on Netgalley. The plot seemed so interesting, and it reminded me a little bit of the TV show Once Upon a Time.
Unfortunately, liking the plot summary was the primary thing I liked about the book, besides the cute cover. The writing was very juvenile, to the point where I thought this may be Saranna DeWylde's debut book... but it wasn't. There were some sweet and funny moments, but as a whole it was not what I was expecting. The emphasis on the inclusion of "The Boy Who Missed" annoyed me.
The book had a lot of potential, but the juvenile humor really tanked my enjoyment. Honestly I probably would have DNFd it, if I weren't for it being set in Missouri (I'm doing a 50 States + DC Reading Challenge this year).
This was such a quirky romance that blended fairy tale style fantasy with modern day reality. As Ransom and Lucky have a disastrous romantic history but agree to a fake wedding in order to help their fairy godmothers save magic. So much hilarity ensues that I was constantly shocked and laughing but also totally rooting for these two. Ransom and Lucky have to face their feelings and decide if they can circumvent the forces of nature that are trying to stand in their way.
The fairy godmothers meddling in everyone's romantic future was awesome. They stole every scene they were in.
I loved that Ransom and Lucky had strong support systems in their best friends and that those characters were so well written and layered.
I had no clue what I was getting myself into when I turned the first page but I'm so glad I did. This was the perfect romantic fairy tale for the modern romance reader and I look forward to the next book in the series.
This is certainly a fun spin on the fairytale and was escapist in a comforting way, although I found the writing to be a bit vague/disjointed.
This book was fun, and lighthearted! It was easy to love the characters, and there's a bit of extra depth to it. I couldn't put it down and just wanted to know what happened next!
This was a fun, light-hearted story about fairy godmothers who get their magic having weddings in ther town of Ever After, Missouri. In order to promote the town as a wedding venue they stage a fake wedding between Lucky and Ransom. These two were a couple in college but something terrible happened between them and they havent been together since. I enjoyed reading this fairytale inspired rom-com of a story.
This was a fresh, funny romantic comedy.
Our main character, Lucky, is anything but lucky. Her luck is the absolute worst. And now Lucky has to marry her ex, Ransom so that her godmothers don't lose their powers and the town of Ever After can live well, happily ever after. Ransom and Lucky have to put their problems apart in order to save the town.
The plot is interesting enough to keep you reading, and it keeps you wondering where it will go until the end.
The writing is highly entertaining, I found myself laughing out loud several times.
The only issue I found with this story is I would've liked a bit more background for the characters, to make it easier to bond with them and understand the stakes.
Overall, I enjoyed the romance and the magical elements in it that make it stand out from other romantic comedies.
If it sounds like something you would like I definitely recommend it.
Again i went in with no idea what i was reading about. I knew it was a romancy type of book but i didnt know it would have "magic". It was a little to fluffy and out there for me but it was still a good pastime. It was cute :)
Thanks NetGalley and Kensington Books for this ARC.
Fairy Godmothers, Inc. is a funny and charming romance. Its fantasy and magical elements kept me intrigued and the romance is so unexpected that you can't help but want to know how it all turns out.
The heroine, Lucky, is not that. She has the worst luck possible. Things get interesting when her godmothers ask for a favor. They want her to marry her ex, Ransom. A mishap from the past kept them apart and now they are expected to marry so that the town of Ever After can have happiness and so the godmothers don't lose their powers.
Ransom and Lucky have to put their feelings aside for the greater good of the town. Their 'relationship' is funny and romantic. I wish the characters would have been a bit more entertaining and engaging.
I give Fairy Godmothers, Inc. 3 stars. It's a cool romance with magical elements in the story. I liked the whole dynamic but to be honest it didn't blow me away.
This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. It was fun to see how love lives would progress when there were fairy godmothers and magic involved.. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you
The writing for this one was extremely tedious and hard to get through. I also think that it ran a little too long, which hindered my overall enjoyment. It read like a debut, which was extremely unfortunate.
This was quite a cute read. perfect for the beach (whenever we can go and have vacations again).
Nothing more nothing less though.
Relatively forgettable after a while which would explain my rating.
This is a fun story where magic, fairytales and romance all come together in a sassy and funny way. There is some heat, but more sizzle. Petunia, Jonquil, and Bluebonnet are fairy godmothers, the kind you meet in Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty. They are losing their magic and they need love to make it strong. They have decided to make Ever After, Missouri, where they and other fairytale characters live, into a destination wedding attraction. Their godchildren, Lucky Fujiki and Ransom Payne are the ones that are in their sights for the first of these events. Lucky and Ransom have been in love with each other since they were children, but things have not worked out for them. Some of these events will have you laughing out loud as you read about them. There was one event that I thought was overused and I wish the author had not even included it, which actually knocked my rating down a bit. As they plan a fake wedding for these two, things happen that have Lucky realizing that she is the one that needs to fix things if all of them, including her and Ransom, are to find their happily ever after.
I enjoyed this story with its entertaining characters. All the magic characters were ones that I had read about in my youth, but not quite like this. Both Gwen and Roderick, the sidekicks, were great and integral parts of the story. I loved Gwen's kids and how they brought our different sides to everyone. This was a fun, HEA story that had me smiling. A great read for my month of romance. I am already looking forward to my next visit to Ever After, Missouri.
A fairytale that will leave the readers wanting more: Lucky and Ransom have a history and have to play pretend to make things work. The first book in a duet, this book provides the comedic relief to take the edge out of what could be a messy love story.
A must for anyone wanting a little magic with their romance.
