This has the bones of being so good - three fairy godmothers living is a magical town in MO ask Lucky ( who is super unlucky) to marry Ransom to bring attention to their town so their magic will regenerate.
Lucky and ransom our exes so of course I was super excited about that because who doesn’t love an in exes enemies to lovers rehash.
Well for about 30% of this book it was a push and pull of they couldn’t have sex because of some weird shit that happened with Luckys unluckiness and both wanted to have sex or try again but then they totally flip-flopped within the next 10 pages it just was all over the place it wasn’t for me.

This is a fun romcom featuring a fake wedding, fairy tale characters you will know and recognize, and just a little bit of magic.
During the first half of the book, I was hooked.around halfway though, I started to get a bit bored. I had also expected there to be a bit more magic than there actually was. Overall, I did enjoy the enjoy the book, even if it wasn’t exactly what I had been looking for.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a eARC in exchange for a review.
While I adored the premise of this book, I found the execution a bit flat. The setting of Ever After, Missouri was cute and had that perfect splash of magical quaintness that I love in rom-coms. The characters I found odd, and while they were quirky they also left me wanting more.
Cute story, enjoyed the fairy godmother aspects of it but the actual romance seemed forced and wasn't the biggest fan of it. I thought it was still enjoyable. Thanks so much to Kensington and Netgalley for the arc of this book!
Unfortunately this one wasn’t for me. I didn’t feel like there was enough romance between the two characters even though they were forced together. The godmother aspect seemed a little too heavy for this being a romance. I had to skim my way through it.
This story really gave me all the feels! It was sounding so cute from the synopsis and the book did not disappoint. I love a fluffy contemporary on my list every now and again.
This book had a lot of potential. I loved the idea of actual fairy godmothers, the premise of Lucky's character, and the town of Ever After. However, it mostly fell flat. I did not like the reality of Lucky's character. She was never what I wanted her to be and she felt a little whiny and overall frustrating. Ransom was just kind of so so. The entire reason for the conflict between them was a stupid incident that is referenced from the very beginning. It was a juvenile reason that made no sense to be upset about - certainly not after so much time and definitely not something that press or anyone else would care about. Every time the characters went back to it or back to that time period, I couldn't help but be yanked out of the story and just be annoyed. Lucky and Ransom did not seem to have any chemistry to me either. They seemed very superficial and didn't have a lot of depth for me. I was much more interested in the town and in the fairy godmothers. I loved the sections with the godmothers talking to each other. They were funny and engaging, and I found myself skimming over sections of Lucky and Ransom to get back to the rest of the world.
All in all, this book was mostly a miss for me. I think there is a lot to work with, but I never thought it was quite realized. I think this concept would have been better served to keep the sections with the fairy godmothers, make the romance more gradual, make it sweeter and less explicit to match the rest of the book, and involve the town and other characters more. The main characters also could do with some additional development so they don't feel so superficial and frustrating. They need an actual reason for conflict. With some adjustments, I might continue with the series. As I said, there is definitely potential in the town and the premise, but as it is, it is not for me.
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
A light hearted, entertaining read about a small town, Ever After, Missouri, where three fairy godmothers need a magic boost and of course the best magic comes from love and romance. As these three work their magic on two of their godchildren, their antics leave you laughing and shaking your head. BUT.....this is a fairy tale. Will it have a happily in Ever After? Read it and see....
The blurb gives you no warning as to what exactly this story is about but that's okay as it turns out to be a light-hearted, entertaining ride! I spent the first third of this book trying to figure out what exactly is the ‘tone’. From the book’s description, I expected sweet and cute romance. However, once I met the characters, read their dialogues and read the chemistry between the two main characters, I switched my mind to maybe contemporary romance (with some heat!) But then still there is the fairy tale element… and I don’t mean that in a figurative sense. The godmothers are pretty much the three good fairies from Sleeping Beauty… wings, wands, magic and all. In fact, the whole of Ever After is teeming with fairy tale characters! Yeah… It took a while to understand but once I accepted the various elements, I actually really liked the mix.
The romance: Okay, so once again, you have to accept this is a crazy piece of fiction and suspend belief and just enjoy what comes next. I enjoyed the romance as the two main characters seemed quite well suited to each other. There were jabs expected between former lovers, the friendship built up over years of shared experiences and the angsty love of two people who don’t believe they can have their happily ever after. The only aspect I found a bit overblown was ‘the boy who missed” hullabaloo which was a bit over the top in an already over the top book.
The crazy world building: Ever After, Missouri is the cutest little town and the most perfect place to fall in love. The characters are mostly from fairy tales, complete with talking birds and anthropomorphic mice. The woods are enchanted and the castle is the dreamiest place you could want to be. I think the author does an excellent job in creating a fantastical town many readers will recognise from childhood stories.
There are a couple areas of the plot that I found weren’t fully explained or seemed to need a bit more detail. For example, I think Ransom gets off far to easily in his ‘quest’ whereas Lucky has some very hard choices to make and actions to follow through on. However, there is a depth of emotion that may very well surprise the reader. I found myself completely caught up in Lucky’s feelings. Her despair and disappointment were palpable at times. Additionally, I really wanted to know what would happen next. I felt invested in the characters and the town and couldn’t wait to see how it would turn out in the end.
Overall, though there are some areas that can be better, I certainly enjoyed this story. I found it charming and enchanting… and really, any book that gives me the warm fuzzies, is one I’ll rate well. I’m looking forward to the next in the series.
Fairy Godmothers, Inc. is essentially a heavily sexual romance novel with a light plot - good for other people, but not quite for my taste.
This book was so freaking cute. It's probably one of those sweet and funny romances everyone needs once in a while, probably best consumed between two intense reads to relax your mind!
In it, you'll meet Lucky, the most un-lucky woman ever. For some reason, everywhere she goes chaos follows. It is very much the case with her love interest, Ransom. No matter how strong their feelings for each other are, accidents happen and they never managed to be intimate because of it. As much as they hate it, it was so funny to see them struggle. But! Their Fairy Godmothers are there to help. The magic has been slowly disappearing and they need some love to bring it all back up. So of course, a fake wedding between Ransom and Lucky is the perfect solution, right?
Overall, this was a fun and light read that I'm glad I read.
(Thank you for letting me read and review an ARC via Netgalley)
I really enjoyed this book! I liked the author's writing style and thought the story was a lot of fun. I definitely recommend this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ebook ARC of Fairy Godmothers Inc.
I needed a lighter read after the recent books I finished and this fit the bill perfectly. It was hilarious and cute. I finished it quickly as I wanted to continue reading all day to find out what would happen and I had a smile on my face for much of the book. It was a bit predictable but I didn't mind.
Romance usually isn't my genre but it helps to sprinkle it in between heavy fantasy, which is what I usually read. I'll be recommending Fairy Godmothers Inc a lot to my friends who love to read romance.
The premise of the major conflict in this story seemed quite ridiculous, even taking into account a world of fairytale creatures. As this is the first in the series, perhaps they will improve over time.
Fairy Godmothers, Inc was very hard to put down! The town is somewhere I want to live, like, yesterday, and the characters were full of SASSSSS and I am here for it. Add in the second chance romance, which I am a big fan of, and you have a book that keeps you reading until you're finished.
I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.
This looked to be so fun. It mixed a couple of genre's I really, honestly, can not get enough of so I thought Fairy Godmothers, Inc. would be a certain win.
Unfortunately, it missed. The characters were a bit lack luster, and the brief touches of enemies-to-lovers fell flat. This one landed firmly in the DNF pile after the first 100 pages.

First of all, the premise of this book and the title intrigued me straight away. I love chick-lit and I love fantasy, throw a little fairytale magic and what’s not to love?
I wish I could say that I loved this book but I really struggled with it. I don’t know if I just wasn’t in the mood for it or whether it was the book itself but it wasn’t until I got halfway through that I really started to have any interest in what was going to happen. Before that it was close to being a DNF unfortunately. There were times I couldn’t keep up with who was actually talking during long conversations, so found myself having to go back a page and re-read just to keep the conversation flow right, which was annoying at times. Again, could’ve been that I was just not in the mood.
I loved the idea of Lucky, the main character having horrendous luck. I thought overall, she was a great character and I rooted for her. Ransom was nice but I got to the point where I questioned if he genuinely loved Lucky like he thought he did, or if it was down to the Fairy godmothers meddling.
Overall, a nice book. I wish I loved it like I thought I would but some people will so it’s worth a read. Will I read the sequel? Maybe.
This book had so much potential but I felt it had too much going on. There were connecting love stories between our main characters best friends and I wasn't a fan of the reason Lucky and Ransom had issues in college. It was something that could happen to anyone and it certainly wouldn't be something the press would care about years later.
I loved the idea of Ever After and it is definitely a place I would like to read about but the author's execution of the story was poorly done. If the book was stripped back and less complicated it would be an excellent read.
Fairy Godmothers, Inc. by Saranna DeWylde is a fantasy romance novel with magical elements to it. Lucky Fujiki's first name is a cosmic joke. Her luck is so bad, even the number seven steers clear of her. Ransom Payne, a not so social chocolatier wants to run away from Lucky Fujiki, but Godmothers have something else planner for both.
Ever After, the town is losing its magic. So the fairy godmothers want Lucky Fujiki and Ransom Payne to help them bring the old charm and love back. The Fairy godmothers plan a not so real wedding to bring back the lost love and charm in the town.
I liked the plot of this book a lot. I liked the humorous characters and meddling fairy grandmothers. But I felt that some important parts of the plot were very unclear and felt unsaid. The town setting was great. It felt like a proper Christmas movie setting to me which was great.
Apart from the magic, family, love, the romance was kind off lacking. The intimate scenes, chemistry, etc. was lacking between both the characters. I liked how the book started, very strongly but in between kind off went little bit down for me. Overall, a great, light and whimsical one sitting read for me.

Fairy Godmothers, Inc. is such a cute and adorable read, it's one you will fly through. The love story in it is well executed and you really believe in and root for the characters.
