This is a fun, charming, witty read. I had so much fun reading this book. The fairy godmothers were my favorite and the true stars of this book in my opinion. Sorry Lucky and Ransom. Although, Lucky and Ransom did have plenty of awkward moments that were hilarious. You would think with a name called "Lucky" that you would be lucky but that is not the case. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Lucky is more "unlucky". A funny moment is when Ransom got hit in the face by a cherry. Yet, Ransom and Lucky were determined to prove that lucky was not unlucky. They made a cute couple. All of the other characters in this book are also very enjoyable. I love when this happens. I look forward to reading more books in this series. I know it is magical as it helped me out of my reading slump.

I actually don't know where to start with this one, maybe that this was the most fun read to start off December with.
This is a true real-life, feel good, fairy tale for adults looking for an escape. With witty banter, sarcastic comebacks that will have you laughing out loud, and the fairy tale "happily-ever-after" you know you'll get!
Now, we get a few viewpoints throughout this story. While it's not fixed when you'll read from what perspective, it is clear when there's a change in narrative. There wasn't a single moment when I didn't know who was talking.
Lucky Fujiki is nothing like her name suggests. Her whole life unluck has followed her around, spreading to others who touch her. Nothing is more true than in her relationship with Ransom Payne. They couldn't even have sex and their relationship definitely didn't end well.
So, when her three godmothers (actual fairies, but she didn't know that yet) asks her to get fake married with him, she isn't sure she can face him. And what if her unluck gets worse?

I really enjoyed this book! It was a cute romance that was a fast paced and fun read. I loved the fairy godmothers, and I hope we see them in another book! I highly recommend this book, 4 stars.
Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this was a heartwarming spin on romance! I am always the first to sign up for fake marriage trope, and this author didn’t disappoint. We get a little bit of reality mixed with make-believe. The magic in the book was a little childish at times, but does the job. I appreciate that this book was not all about romance but also the growth of each character. I was always rooting for our main heroin as she made her way though the universe. For me, the book was slow to get into, but the journey is worth it.
Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Books for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

Would you want a fairy godmother? What about 3?
Lucky Fujiki has no luck, she's a bad luck charm. Everything that can go wrong goes wrong around her.
Her three fairy godmothers want to open a wedding planning business in Ever After, MI and have asked her and her old college bf to put on a fake wedding. Her ex-boyfriend Ransom Payne is now a successful chocolatier billionaire with the help of the fairy godmothers.
Lucky and Ransom's relationship was fraught with bizarre occurrences that are always blamed on her. So they parted ways even though they still had deep feelings for each other.
They rekindled their feelings quickly but the bad luck also rekindled even quicker. Poor Lucky has to choose between bringing down everyone around her or her Happily Ever After.
They do explain why in this magical town that Lucky has no luck it has to do with some family secrets and there are some other magical characters living in this small town. With some other secrets that I am sure the next books in the series will uncover.
Rating: 🌟🌟🌟💫 (4 on goodreads)
I started this book last week so it was - end of the year, beginning of the year read. It was a cute quick fantasy whimsy, silly at times, rom com romance.

I loved the concept of this book so much and actually picked it off my TBR pile thinking I’d be able to fly through it in a couple days. But, it took me over a month to get through.
Fairy Godmothers, Inc. is set in the fairy tale town of Ever After, Missouri, and the fairy godmothers are set to make two of their charges fall in love by having them stage a fake wedding in Ever After to drum up business in the town. Promising right? But I should have known that the fantasy-geek in me wouldn’t be happy the second that non-magical folk were referred to as “normies.” What are we 12?
Overall this book fell flat for me. It held such promise but definitely needs something more to make it a hit for me.
Thanks to NetGalley for the copy to review.

Heavy on the magic, light on the realism, full of unrequited love.
I love stories that mix realism and magic. This felt like an adult version of a Disney story. Two people in love who always seem to muck it up somehow and need the help of fairy godmothers to make their love last.
The romance trope works, a second chance at love and a fake engagement. The godmothers are a bit much at times, a little too saccharine, and other times just sassy enough to not make me skip over their parts. I liked the hint of the book's series aspect and the friend of the main character and her children. They add a lot to a story that could get out of hand.
This book isn't for everyone. This is heavier on magical realism and asks the reader to put aside many commonly held beliefs in how the world works. As an escape novel, though, it is perfect. Exactly what I needed on a dreary, gray winter day.
While not every reader will enjoy this book, fairy-tale inclined readers and readers who want whimsy in their reading will find this a fun read.

I loved chatting with Saranna about this series. The idea of fairy godmothers intevervening when it comes to romance was so much fun!

In a town called Ever After three fairy godmothers want to increase their magic so they decide to create a wedding destination in Missouri to help fix the decreasing magic. Former lovers Lucky and Ransom happen to be the Godchildren of these fairy godmothers, so to promote the town as a wedding destination they rope the old lovers into a fake wedding. Lucky and Ransom were good characters for this rom-com of a story, but there were some major issues happening that couldn't be explained.
I wasn't as blown away by this as I wanted to be I'm not particularly a rom-com reader but thought since this involved fairies I could get into it but that just didn't happen for me. The book seemed to have a lot of extra characters and detail that i didn't find necessary.

This was a cute book. I thought one plot point started to get a little strange the more they talked about it. I loved the idea of the adult fairy tale land. I would give book 2 a shot!

I really loved the concept of this book and wanted to love the story, but sadly the execution didn’t quite work for me.
This advertised three of my absolute favorite romance tropes: fake relationship, second chance romance, and enemies to lovers. Unfortunately there really wasn’t much romance between Ransom and Lucky. They got over the whole “enemies” thing very quickly and almost immediately started making out. There was absolutely no development to their relationship and not much chemistry either. (I also found the whole “boy who missed” thing, the reason they were “enemies,” to be really silly and unrealistic – as if that’s the kind of thing that fully grown adults (and reporters!) would care so much about??)
I loved the idea of the town of Ever After, but again, it just wasn’t executed well. There were so many different elements introduced at once and it was hard to keep track of everything. The writing also felt like it was trying too hard to be clever and funny and I actually found myself often confused by what was going on – conversations didn’t seem to follow a logical path.
This had a ton of potential and I think with another round of editing it could be a cute little story, but it just didn’t work for me right now.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This second chance romance is a modern romp through the fairy tales of your childhood. The godmothers are a delight. Lucky and Ransom both take charge of their own lives and earn their HEA. Perfect for fans of fairy tales and second chances.

OMG, this book!
The magic!
and also some mixed feelings.
This book was like no other.
It is the story of Lucky, who seems to bring bad luck wherever she goes, and Ransom, her greatest love, and also the greatest recipient of her bad luck. And their fairy godmothers as they meddle and try to give them their Happily Ever After.
As a lover of all things fairy godmothers I had incredible expectations about this book.
Did it disappoint? Hell, no! Was it too much? Also no. But there were some things that made me feel like this is a 4.5 stars.
This story has everything you want in a fairy tale. The 3 fairy godmother who are absolutely adorable, and meddling, they have wings, fairy dust, they make great cookies and are chatty and funny and just full of love and good spirit. There is Ever After, the town, that is as magical as you would expect. There are the fairytale characters that are just as wonderful. Rosebud, the dressmaker was my absolute favorite, with the gift of creating magical dresses and her tiny helpers. There is humor, so many funny scenes, such loveliness in this book!
The only thing I didn't like is the fact that at times it all felt so silly. I was enthralled by everything but from time to time I stopped and thought: this is just so silly. Maybe I like my romantical stories, the actual romance, more on the real side of the world. I don't know. The book was beautifully portioned that your get the best of everything, there is no part of the story that gets more attention than the others. I loved how so many side characters had pretty complex stories, as is the case of Raveena, which I liked greatly.
There is so much goodness in this book, so much wholesomeness!
The moment when the foxes start to run went straight to my heart. Really, this book is magical! To fill your heart with love and magic this is a must read! If you ever happened to love fairytales or Disney movies this will bring you so much joy!

I received a reviewer copy of Fairy Godmothers, Inc. by Saranna DeWylde from the publisher Kensington Books (Zebra) from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
CW: Divorce, Family Secrets, etc.
What It’s About: Ever After, Missouri is a magical town but it is dying. Three fairy godmothers Petunia, Jonquil, and Bluebonnet have a solution, if true love comes to the town, it will bloom. They begin designing a wedding business that is magical. But they need their big publicity, luckily they know the perfect couple two of their godchildren Lucky Faujiki and Ransom Payne. Payne, is a famous chocolatier and Lucky is a famous artist, but these two have history. Unfortunately Lucky is cursed with bad luck that wrecked their relationship. Can they stop it this time?
What I Loved: The premise of this book is excellent and fun. I love the idea of a land made of Fairy Tales, it reminds me of a less stressful Once Upon a Time. The idea of a magical land being the ideal place to have a wedding. It was fun seeing the jobs the characters had and I really thought the premise was fun and creative. This book had a lot of potential. I will say this book was creative.
What I Didn't Like So Much: This book just didn’t work for me, I think it’s because the potential and the problems with meeting it. Let’s start off the dialogue and fairies weren’t as charming or witty as could be. I think this was supposed to be a rom-com but there was very little funny here. The thing that embarrassed Ransom is homophobic and it was unbelievable that Lucky was so clueless. The biggest problem was that known of the characters had chemistry together, whether that be friendship, romance, parental, it just all seemed forced.
Who Should Read This: People who loved Once Upon A Time, but wished it was more Hallmark.
Quick Summary: A magical land is threatened but love could save the day, if the bride’s unluck doesn’t wreck everything. .

Once upon a time in a town called Ever After, three meddling godmothers decide to save their town by bringing together two of their charges for a fake wedding.
What follows next are magical hijinks for the ages as the bride is unlucky in life and the groom has an embarrassing life moment that won't go away. Everything that can possibly go wrong goes wrong and the godmothers and others in town are left to pick up the pieces.
Fairy Godmothers, Inc. was really fun and exactly what I needed to finish out the year. The characters are hilarious and there's so many subtle (& not so subtle) ties to your favorite fairy tales, like Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks, and the Frog Prince.
The godmothers themselves were my favorites. I could just imagine three little old ladies speaking & scheming so fast with that understanding familiarity that only long time friends/sisters have.
I found myself smiling or giggling so many times in this book. Were some parts predictable? Sure, but I still loved it. I'll definitely be reading the next books in the series when they come out.
If you love fairy tales, Disney, Once Upon a Time, etc. and want a book with a literal "Happily Ever After" then give this a read.
Fairy Godmothers, Inc. by Saranna DeWylde came out on Dec. 29.

I wasn't entirely sure what to make of this book when I first started reading it, but my advice is to keep going, it starts off a little confusing but things start to make sense along the way and then it becomes a frolicking story of love, romance and a lot of meddling! Lucky Fujiki's doesn't feel very lucky despite her name and in fact due to the amount of bad luck she experiences in all areas of her life she feels it is better she keeps her distance from romance. However, her Fairy godmothers, have other ideas and set to matchmake her with her old college sweetheart who they happen to be in charge of as well. As expected there are many hiccups along the way along with a lot of soul seeking. It is certainly worth a read and I am looking forward to the next installment.

Truly magical! Suspend disbelief and buckle up for the ride. A mix of fairy tale, Ron com and bonk buster! Such a delicious combination! I cannot wait for the next instalment. Thoroughly enjoyed this read!
Thank you Netgalley

I enjoyed this book. The story appealed to me and was nicely written. There's a lot of cuteness, heart and emotion that make it fairly easy to get swept up into this tale. I loved the setting and the premise behind this read but I did have some issues with it. Ransom and Lucky made quite the pair and boy, I'll admit from the blurb I was rooting for them. However, as the storyline unfolds my emotions and thoughts are forced to change multiple times and in the end I just wasn't sure I could 100% back this couple. Even though Ransom had me feeling a bit confused, I still thought he deserved better.

This was a cute sexy second-chance romance, plus a bit of fake marriage going on. It’s very quirky and magical, due to the town of Ever After and its characters. And I really enjoyed the first half of the book, but then I got a little bit bored.
Everything did happen very fast, the wrap up felt rushed so I didn’t really appreciate this. Also, the characters felt very simple and lacked a little more depth. The story was fun, but I was just missing more development. The atmosphere of Ever After was a good idea, but the writing got me kind of confused and I missed more detailing.
It would work very well on the screen as a rom-com. But if you want a fun book for Valentine’s Day, I think this could work for you.

Ok. Not my favorite. I love adult fairy tales but this is so crass. “Or the way those breeches fit his incredible ass” ?!?! The whole thing about the awkward sex from their past and everyone knew? Ugh. The names of the godmothers are stupid. Like a Disney movie. This is definitely more for “The Bachelorette” crowd than the Downton Abbey one. Dumbed down. How she called her mom “Ma”. Who does that who doesn’t live in a trailer? So why did I give it 4 stars? Because I know tons of women who will eat this up and love it! Just because I don’t like it doesn’t mean it should be tossed out. Well done for what it is.
