If you are, like me, a huge fan of the Deep Ops series, you've been waiting for this book. The delightful, sizzling, slow burn of sexual tension between gruff, sexy Angus Force and smart, sexy Nari Zhang that has smoldered through the series explodes at full blast in this book. On top of that satisfying event, thrilling action, hilarious banter, and a dangerous chase create a page-turner that will have you guessing at the twists and turns to the very end. Highly Recommend!

The betrayal has no limits in this book. I once again have no idea who to trust, who has ulterior motives, and most of all... IS LASSITER ALIVE? Angus, our damaged, broken and devilishly handsome team leader is about to play the game of his life and it could cost him his team in more ways than one.

The entire cast of this ragtag team is back, Malcomb and Pippa, Raider and Brigid, Wolfe and Dana, Roscoe and Kat, and last but not least Angus and Nari. Now a killer has his sights on them and is playing a sick twisted game that has put targets on their backs.

As the book begins, a body has been found. It looks like Lassiter, but with subtle differences. Of course, Angus see's Lassiter's work in everything, everywhere. Next thing you know, HDD comes in and disbands the team. So, now there is no team and a killer on the loose, what could go wrong?

As the bodies pile up, so does the heat and tension between Angus and Nari. Finally! I have been waiting for those two to combust for many books and with these two it is definitely like pouring gasoline on a fire!

Then all hell breaks loose. Someone is shooting at Angus, someone tries to kidnap Nari. The team is disbanded, and worse, it’s starting to look like Angus is a suspect! Holy cow! I couldn’t stop turning the pages until I had all the answers.

I was happy to have all the characters back and they were fantastic. Especially Nari and Angus, both very intelligent and very strong, which made for a very interesting dynamic (if you know what I mean). Driven’s story had me so engaged I didn’t even realize it was 2 am when I finished the book. I was so engrossed in the plot and twists and turns that took me on a rollercoaster ride I totally lost track of time.

Driven was a well written, action-packed, page turner with characters you can’t help but love. I loved this book and most definitely recommend it (and the entire series)!

What an epic conclusion to this story arc. Angus and Nari were perfect for each other. Full of action, suspense, and steam, Driven takes you for a ride full of twists and turns. Every time you think you reached your destination, think again.

I really like this author and I've read all of her Dark Protectors books so far. It was good, but it could have been greater (maybe my expectation of Ms. Zanetti needs to be realistic, but ever since I read Conn and Moira's story, I've been comparing all leads to them. Might not be fair to other characters, but they are the best couple I've read in her books, along with CeCe and Dare)

Back to this one now.

What I liked:
* The main characters. Once they made a commitment to each other, Angus' protective instincts shot through the roof. I love how he put Nari first.
* Kickass heroine. Seriously. Nari can really kick ass and she does. I like that.
* A team that has your back. I realise that this is an ongoing series, but I haven't read the other books. My reading experience was fine though as the details given were sufficient to keep up with the inter-personal relationships.
* Nari's amazing mom a stepdad. They were mentioned in only a handful of scenes, but I loved reading about her relationship with them.

What I didn't like:
* This may be tricky. I'm not ask that enthusiastic about Insta-love, but I don't really enjoy slow burns either. My preference is somewhere in the middle. Angus and Nari circled each other for a year before they made a move. Personally, I would have liked timeline to be much shorter.
* After a while, the drama got a bit much for me, tbh. I kinda guessed the person behind the happenings at around 60 percent. Of course I didn't know how it would all go down, but I still guessed correctly. (Sorry!)
* The drama with Nari's bio dad was just unnecessary.

Final verdict: 4 stars. Still on the lookout for the next Conn and Moira from Ms. Zanetti. I'll keep looking.

What a roller coaster of a ride! Angus is not giving up, he knows that Lassiter is alive. Bodies start showing up daily, and there is a peculiar similarity in each of the bodies that connects to Angus. Roscoe is by his side but his team is pulled out from under him. Loyalties are tested, friendships are tested, houses are blowing up, friends are getting shot, people are getting kidnapped and still, no one believes Angus that Lassiter is back. The humour is totally there though, the snarkiness, the wisdom, "Don't make me try the head-through-the tree thing." and the possibility of learning new things "He accepted the proffered glass and sniffed. Smelled like wine. The red kind.", but he didn't moan like Nari when he drank it. Could not put this book down, loved every minute of it. Kept thinking, what is going to happen next, and who is really the bad guy? Loved this rag tag of characters and this series.

I love Rebecca Zanetti's romance and mysteries. This book is definitely another keeper. I love the suspense in the book. The characters are well-written and likable. They have great chemistry. Love the surprising twist in the ending. Another terrific book by a wonderful writer!

Angus is sure the serial killer who murdered his sister is still alive despite the fact everyone else is convinced he has been dead for years. As women start to turn up murdered in a similar manner of the serial killer Angus becomes the prime suspect. I loved this story and the characters. There was a twist at the end that I didn’t see, I suspected someone else. Thank you to net galley for an advanced copy.

I’ve read a bunch of romantic suspenses, but usually, I find that the suspense part isn’t well done. It isn’t easy to plot a thriller, especially since you need to have a few twist to keep the readers on the edge of their seat. This book was one of the best I’ve read.

There are still some flaws. The ‘moving around’ part annoyed me because I felt it stalled the story. And there were a few too many convenient coincidences. Also, for being ‘the best profiler’, Angus sure seemed confused. But there was enough action and investigating to keep me interested.

As for the romance part, I felt it lacked romance. Lust and chemistry, sure, I can’t deny it. And the intimate scenes were scorching hot. And both Angus and Nari acted in the relationship according to their character.

I hadn’t read the previous books in the series, and though it’s clearly a standalone, there were too many side characters I knew nothing about to feel connected to them. It didn’t keep me out of the story though, because you learn just enough to understand their role in the story.

It wasn’t perfect, but the writing was good, and the story itself was interesting enough to make me want to read the other books of the series.

Quickie

- Series: Deep ops #4 (can be read as a standalone)

This story is a thriller romance. It’s about Angus, who is the team leader of risky cops and veterans, in catching some of the most dangerous people. The job had a time limit and it’s almost up. Nari, is the team’s psychologist, who has been slowly building her career back up after a major set back involving an ex-boyfriend. Working on this new team has been great, except for a growing attraction for the team leader. Nari, wont be making the mistake of getting involved with a co-worker again. Both Angus and Nari, have been working hard at keeping their lusty feelings at bay, but times almost up and then they will go their separate ways. A wrench is thrown in when they land a new case.
The writing is always good, I find Zanetti stories have lots of descriptions, which paints a great picture in my mind of the action happening. The story line moved along well, I don’t think there was a dull minute in whole book. The mystery and thriller aspects in the story were captivating. I was trying to figure out if a new serial killer was committing murders, or if someone from the past was back was really back through the whole book. The steamy scene throughout were good, but I feel it was more of a lust connection, than a Romance inspired one. The relationship was rapped up really quickly and it felt really rushed which is some of the reason I lowered my rating. Overall I enjoyed this story, but I do prefer her other series. I still had a great time reading this book and would definitely recommend, especially if your looking for something with crime, mystery and a love connection. Trigger warning’s include murder, guns, cannibalism, and torture. I received this ebook via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

If you want a novel with excitement, danger, romance and suspense, Rebecca Zanetti nails it every time. Her characters and plots draw you in and while you want a slow read to enjoy, it’s very hard not to race to the end for the reader’s hip hip hooray moment. I particularly love the give and take between characters with their humor and love for each other that provides delightful light moments while in the development of a suspenseful story. In her latest addition to the Deep Ops series, she focuses on Angus Force the head of the ragtag group of HDD agents. Pulling in from earlier books in the series it is now a story focusing on Angus resolving the question of - is the serial killer Lassiter dead or alive because some similar deaths are occurring all over the city. If he is alive Angus is ready to take him down, the man has killed to many including Angus’ sister. As Angus faces the upending of his HDD career his attraction to psychiatrist Nari grows. Nari is there to help him and you watch as their attraction grows. At the same time the ragtag group are in it to the end as police and FBI focus on Angus as the psycho and killer. Can’t be, won’t be. Highly recommended.

Fan if Rebecca Zanetti and her Deep Ops series will fall in love with the last book in the series. Angus and Nari comes together and it is off the charts pure AWESOME!

Romance, action, suspense, everything readers have come to love from Rebecca Zanetti. Angus is grumpy and still the same guy from the first book in the series. Nari is human with the abiltiy to have readers connect with her from the beginning. As they both refuse to stop the searching for the man who destroyed Angus life.

The cast of crazy characters and cat comes to help their fearless leaders and refuse to give up until they catch the killer.

Readers will love this story. This is a cant miss story. It can be read as a stand alone. I have to tell you this is a can't miss series. Hot romance, crazy cast of characters and laugh out loud moments.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of Rebecca Zanetti Driven

I started to read the Deep Ops series this past summer. It was my bright light in ~such~ a boring and isolated time so you can imagine my JOY when I found out that the fourth book of the series was going to be released in 6 short (but felt really long) months!

Driven was written around Angus Force and Nari Zhang (finally!), and the loathed, but dead (?), Lassiter. The whole gang, although broken up, follows and studies a series of killing sprees and notes, which keeps us readers on the edge of our seats ALL. DAY. LONG.

** I had 15 page essays (plural) due this week and you bet your bottom dollar I turned them in late in order to get through this book. If that does not convey how much you should get this book I don't know what does, honestly. **

Only Ms. Rebecca Zanetti can write a book following murder and romance that manages to fulfill both genres so wholesomely, along with throwing a hilarious german shepherd that's obsessed with alcohol and heels (yes, you read that right) into the mix.

Allow me to leave you with this quote that has been playing in my head on replay:

"You can't hate everyone who knows psychology, Angus. You have to stop pushing people away."
"Baby, the last thing I want to do is push you away."

~literal goosebumps~

Anyways, add this to your TBR shelf! It's release date is January 26th, 2021 (YAY!)

Tough, intriguing characters who are caught in a spiders web. Suspenseful reading. Roscoe was a scene stealer and Nari's character had strong moments. Angus's portrayal was the no nonsense type with lots of baggage that was often offset by Roscoe and Nari's personas. Driven is the fourth book in the series, and having only read this book, I was not lost anywhere in the read, which was a real bonus to being captured by the characters and their antics.

OMG - this book was fantastic!!! Fast paced romantic suspense at it's best! I loved this latest battle with the serial killer that Angus thought he killed years ago....but are they facing him, or a copycat?

While the killer ramps up, Angus's team is faced with lots of challenges, which could put their very lives at risk. Add in his having to face his relationship with Nari and Nari having to face her relationship with her father, and you have a complex and engaging story.

I found myself totally engrossed in this book and flipping pages just as quickly as possible. If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. Put this one at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.

While I'm sad to this series end, I'm ready to embark on the next journey. I enjoyed the hectic, thrilling ride the author took us on as we follow a seriel killer determined to spread his destruction. While Angus and Naire gave off enough heat to warm the entire Antarctica, their love story did not develop as fully as I would have liked. They were too wrapped up in the murders and mayhem. Im excited to see what author cooks up next.

Given that I couldn’t put this down (despite turning bright red at some points), I would say this is pretty remarkable. Sure, the writing isn’t the best, the character development was a bit wooden, and some of the verbiage had me cringing, but I HAD TO KNOW what happened to Angus and Nari.

So many mixed feeling. Happy with the way that the book ended and the series was wrapped up. Also, nooooooo. The series can't be done. I'll miss the characters as if I actually knew them. It's been a wild series and Driven, was fantastic.

Angus is sure the serial killer he thought he had killed is somehow still alive and messing with him. When his team gets diamond and someone tries to kill him and grab Nari the teams shrink he is sure of his theory. Can he prove the guy is still alive before the serial killer kills Angus or gets him charged with the murders that keep showing up around Angus and Nari.

Angus finally gets his story and his HEA. It’s been hinted at from the beginning and we finally get to see him and Nari together. Though I felt like the murder mystery and all the police procedural stuff overshadowed the developing relationship for Angus and Nari, I really would have liked to see more between them, it was still nice to see it all come to completion. As with the other books in the series, there’s plenty of action, danger, mystery, and suspense to hold interest from start to finish.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
