I thought this was so boring. I didn't really feel a connection to the characters and I didn't really care for the plot.
I have been provided a copy by NetGalley in exchange for my fair and honest review.
Natalie has a stalker, someone leaving creepy notes in her email. Tally a former FBI agent and current Security Expert is there to help. Sparks fly within the first scene of the book, there aren't in your face sparkler, but more subtle, more natural. This is what sets this book apart from other romances I have read in the past that immediately jump from danger to romance and visa versa. I really enjoyed how in this book there wasn't an immediate rush into danger.
The ending was effortlessly sweet, you know how the MCs intend to live their lives from then on but it was also open for the reader to interpret some of their own details into the story. Overall this was a great read.
I think this is my favorite one in this series. I am having a hard time pinpointing exactly why since the writing and story arc is consistent, It could just be as simple as the fact that I like Tully the most. A good series to follow through to the end.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the third book in a series and does Not disappoint. This story begins at Alices wedding, one of Natalie’s best friend. She has decided to keep the threatening emails to herself and not mess up the wedding celebration. Natalie has dealt with abuse before from her ex husband so she knows this is some kind of mind game the stalker is playing.
When things get more serious Natalie knows she needs help and decides to reach out to Tully, her best friend Alice’s husbands business partner. She has tried to avoid him because she knew the chemistry between them was off the charts and she wasn’t sure she was ready to open up her heart to another man.
Tully, ex FBI agent and high powered security expert is more than willing to step in to help Natalie.
As the threats increase Tully and Natalie get closer. Will the stalker get to Natalie? Will Tully and Natalie either be able to let there guard down to give a relationship a chance?
Loved this book! Steamy but really thought the story was fantastic!
Thank you Netgalley for complimentary copy. Thoughts and opinions are my own.
The series is great!
I went into this not knowing that this was the third book in a series and it would definitely have been beneficial to read those first as I did feel a disconnect with the main characters. After the first couple of pages, I could tell their romance had probably been set up in previous books.
The beginning of the book was a little slow for me as I didn't instantly gel with the writing style but once the plot started to speed up, I was gripped. I did enjoy this book but I did find some of it to be a little cheesy and some of the dialogue seemed forced, especially with some of the intimate scenes. The action/suspense in the book was great and what I thought might happened didn't, which I really loved.
The Agent is the third story in The Consultants series which goes from strength to strength. This time we have Tully and Natalie’s story.
Natalie has a stalker and Tully is determined to protect her and discover who the person causing Natalie’s fear is. Having escaped an extremely controlling marriage she is determined never to re marry and hasn’t been in a relationship for the past three years, Tully coming from a nightmare family has also made the vow never to marry or have children.
As the suspense amps up so does their relationship, smouldering passion erupts between the two of them.
The along side story of the stalker adds depth to this book making it full of action and a good ‘who did it?’
It was great to catch up with the rest of the team and their wives who are also Natalie’s best friends.
Another winner from this author, an enjoyable and entertaining read.
My thanks to net galley and publishers Montlake for the opportunity to review this book honestly.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Natalie is receiving notes and emails from a stalker. She decides to call Tully who works for a security firm to determine who wants her dead. I enjoyed the chemistry between Natalie and Tully
I previously read The Hacker by Nancy Herkness and while I really enjoyed that one, I'm glad to say that I enjoyed The Agent even more!
I loved the slow burn between Tully and Natalie. This was the perfect blend of romance and suspense/action. I love the dynamic between the main characters and the other characters from the previous books. The author definitely knows how to write smoldering romance and great alpha males.
This is the 3rd book in "The Consultants" series. Tully (love the name) and Natalie are thrown together via their friends' courtships and wedding preparations. Both of their friends (& work partners for Tully) are paired with each other. Natalie is still recovering from her 10 year marriage during which she suffered from domestic abuse. Now that she is out of that toxic relationship she is helping to guide other victim of similar situations. Tully is a retired FBI agent who is adamant about never getting married or having children due to his troubled childhood.
When Natalie starts receiving stalking threats she turns to Tully. Their relationship deepens all while the threats against Natalie escalates.
This was a well developed book and I enjoyed the fact that Natalie is a bit older than your average romance heroines. She was a strong woman and could hold her own against Tully's equally strong personality.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Tully is positively swoon-worthy as the sexy security expert and third partner of KRG Consulting. He's always been attracted to Natalie, but when she tells him she's being stalked, his protective instinct goes into overdrive. Before long, Natalie has more security than she knows what to do with and a very sexy security expert in her bed that she definitely knows what to do with....Natalie and Tully's relationship is sexy and burns so hot there should be warning for your kindle.
I loved the way Tully and Natalie were together, but really loved how Natalie has set herself up as a champion of battered women trying to get away from their abusers. Domestic violence is such a tough subject, but the author handles it in a matter of fact, yet gentle way.
This is a wonderful romantic suspense novel that I just loved and couldn't put down. Make sure you start this one early enough in the day, as you'll want to stay up late to finish it. Put this one at the top of your TBR list. While this is part of a series, this is a stand alone novel, however, it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.
