This was a very cute read! From the beginning I was drawn into the book, and I found the premise of these paper hearts really lovely and original. I really enjoyed the backstory too: it really gave the story that extra level of depth! The writing style was really easy to get into as well. I can definitely recommend this book!

Ella Fitzpatrick was in an accident right around Valentine's day. She lost her memories of the 11 weeks before the accident. Throughout the novel, she struggles with trying to remember what happened and these 11 paper hearts that center around things she's experienced but doesn't remember.

I thought this book was such a cute read! I really enjoyed the mystery of trying to figure out who was sending the paper hearts and how they connected to Ella's life before the accident. I guessed a few of the plot points, but that didn't really take away from the reading experience. The romance was spectacular. Ella showed a lot of growth during the story as she figured out what happened during the 11 weeks before the accident, and I loved seeing the growth.

I'll definitely be checking out more novels by Kelsey Hartwell!

Ella was just a normal teenager with a normal life, until she was badly injured in a car crash after a Valentine's day dance. After she woke up in the hospital, she suffers with amnesia. She doesn't remember anything from the weeks before the accident, and this includes why she broke up with her boyfriend.
Now a year later, she is trying to life a normal life as much as possible despite her missing memories. But everything changes when she starts to receive paper hearts from a secret admirer, and the paper hearts contain the answers she is searching for. The hearts take her on a journey to also find the most important answer, who is sending them and why? It must be someone who knows a lot about her and her life, and maybe the answer is closer to her then she thought...

My thoughts about this book are a littlebit mixed. The first part was a bit entertaining, the middle part lacked action and interesting plot things happening in my view, and the last part was a bit entertaining again. Though I wanted to like this book more then I actually did. But the story was just at many points lacking action and kept hanging in the usual YA romance parts that I have read in many other books before. The car crash thing is something I have seen in many other YA books, so that wasn't helping that much eather. If you like very sweet YA romances that fit in the usual YA genre, this is the one for you, but you won't miss out on very much if you don't read this one..

Very cute. Unexpected. Light and perfect for the YA audience. Valentine's Day romance, with some intrigue and you can't help but cheer on the main character as she fights for memories.

Ella was type A, driven, popular, and seemed to have it all until she is in an accident and the recovery leaves her with an eleven-week hole in her memory. Ella tries to pick up where she left off before the accident, but the clues that she left herself seem to indicate that she's forgetting something or someone big. Leading up to the anniversary of the accident, Ella begins to receive 11 paper hearts containing clues to those missing memories and what really happened in those weeks. 11 Paper Hearts is the kind of escape that is wonderful and welcome. It is fresh, honest, and has you hoping that Ella makes the right choices and is able to make up for lost time. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Sarah Dessen, Ally Carter, or Jennifer Lynn Barnes.

Although I thought it was a cute story and I loved how shippable Ella and Andy were, at times it felt rushed - namely at the end.

I was super proud of Ella when she stood up to Carmen but I wish she had told her how she felt earlier. Her “friends” were so shitty to her and just horrible people in general. I’m mad that they didn’t tell her what she missed during those 11 weeks, specially because Carmen was an awful friend to her. Carmen is so freaking self-centred, she was honestly detestable.

On the other hand, I can’t bring myself to be mad at the admirer for not telling her about the three items in her secret spot. I can’t imagine how confusing it must have been for Ella, telling her about the items would only add to the confusion. However, if I was in Ella’s shoes I’d also be super mad so ugh idk. They should have probably just told her little bits slowly and been upfront about her having met someone before the accident. It would have been confusing but they could have worked through it? But then again, wouldn’t that be forcing Ella into something she might not want to happen? Overall, it’s just a messy situation.

I did enjoy the plot and story. I’m always bothered when one party knows who the other is in these kinds of situations but I didn’t mind it as much in this one.

Thanks for the free book, Penguin Random House International.

11 months ago Ella Fitzpatrick was in an accident coming home from the Valentine's Day Dance that erased 11 weeks of her memory. She struggles finding her place senior year when she feels like she is missing part of herself. She has three items hidden that she knows must hold a clue to what happened during those 11 weeks. Before Valentine's Day she starts to receive mysterious hearts that have clues on them that lead to adventure, love, and she is hoping will lead to answers that will help her fill the holes in her memory and in her heart.
The characters are very well developed as is the plot. I enjoyed joining Ella and Drew on their quest to figure out the past and make peace with it. Ella saw the most growth during the story. I think one of my favorite quotes was "If you don't know who the mean girls are... you might be one of them." It really made you stop and think about actions and how they are perceived by others.

Is it possible to have a "mystery romance," because this perfectly describes 11 Paper Hearts by Kelsey Hartwell. I was expecting a fluffy romance, but this one was just...MORE. I love it when characters experience a profound change and challenge their own norms and expectations. Hartwell has a quick wit, and I loved the comedic moments throughout. I was completely invested in unraveling the 11 weeks of Ella's life before her accident, and the author kept me guessing. Now we just need a book 2! I will definitely be recommending this book to my students.

11 Paper Hearts has a really cute premise, a mystery admirer sending 11 clues to their identity and helping Ella rediscover herself after trauma causes her to lose some memories. Unfortunately this one wasn't really for me, I felt like the conclusion was inevitable as there are very few characters introduced along the way.

I found myself more intrigued by Ella's relationship with her group of friends than the relationship aspects of the story. I was hoping eternally that she would stand up to them as they clearly weren't a good group of people. Even after finishing the book, I still cant understand why no one at all just filled Ella in on her missing weeks. Her parents, sibling, friends, love interests.... all of them must have known the basics and no one thought to just tell her anything that had gone on. It all struck me as a bit odd and I think ruined my enjoyment of the story.

It's also quite odd that the mystery heart sender waited an entire year before trying to help her regain her memory, it perhaps made for a better story but it just felt cruel to me, and so it took away the cute edge that I was hoping the story would hold.

One year ago, Ella got into a car accident on the night of the Valentine's Day Dance. When she woke up in the hospital, she was missing 11 weeks of her memory. Now, as Valentine's Day approaches again, Ella is still reeling from the accident and trying to get back to normal life. She then receives a Valentine's Day with a note on, telling her that it will lead her on a scavenger hunt to uncover her past. With the help of a mysterious stranger, Ella tries to remember the 11 weeks she lost, and maybe find herself again. Maybe, she'll also fall in love.

This was a very cute and sweet Valentine's Day story. Ella is a likable character it and it was fun to go along on the scavenger hunt with her. It also did talk about grief and tough times in a really good way. This was also a very cute romance. Andy and Ella's romance was cute from the start and just continued to grow as the story continued. I will have to say I'm not sure how I feel about how much information some characters withheld from Ella for a year, but this was a fun romance. I definitely recommend this to fans of light and sweet YA romances.

Perfect for fans of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and The Kissing Booth, 11 Paper Hearts is a YA contemporary rom-com about a girl who follows a trail of paper hearts from her mystery admirer. Many thanks to Penguin Random House International #partner and Underlined for the free review copy. 💕

11 Paper Hearts was the perfect book to start 2020 with! I loved every moment of cozying up to this adorable little novel. Ella’s story was sweet, had a lot of emotional depth and the added touch of mystery made reading the book really enjoyable. It’s definitely one of those rare YA novels that will hold your attention throughout the story. 💜

Ella was a really relatable teenager! Her struggles to fit in, even with her closest friends after her tragic car accident laid a very strong foundation for the story. As you grow older, you start to realize who the real people in your life are – this fact was perfectly portrayed through various truth bombs that were dropped throughout the book. I’ve found it very hard to stand up to my friends, just like Ella does in 11 Paper Hearts, so I really connected to her that way. One of the book’s biggest lessons is: Life is very short, so we should let go of the toxic people and make space for the ones who bring out the best side of us.

The sibling dynamic between Ella and Ashley was definitely one of the highlights of reading 11 Paper Hearts for me! Seeing the growth in their relationship made my heart feel so full! They had their ups and downs along the way, but that’s what made their bond so real, you know? I loved reading about Andy too! Nerdy guys in books make me go all soft and sappy, and Andy was no different. His conversations with Ella made reading the book so much better!

I’ll end the review with my favorite part of reading the book – The mystery of the 11 Paper Hearts! The author created such a unique plotline by making Ella follow the trail of paper hearts. It was both heart-touching and fascinating to see that someone was trying really hard to help Ella remember the 11 weeks that she had no memory of for the accident. I thought I’d figured out who the mystery admirer was, but boy, I was so wrong! The ending was just the sweetest thing ever.

Highly recommend picking 11 Paper Hearts when it comes out tomorrow. I hope you guys love reading it as much as I did! 😁

An ADORABLE read! Sure, it was a bit predictable, but, that didn't damper my enjoyment of it. I think I liked it BECAUSE it was a little predictable, I wanted the things to happen that were going to happen…if that makes sense.

I tell you though I thought for sure I knew who was leaving the hearts, but I was a bit wrong on that, so, not entirely predictable for me as it'll probably be for others who are going to read this.

Let's get back to the adorableness though. It was SO CUTE in the sort of way that 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before' or 'The Kissing Booth' was which this book is compared to in the synopsis, and I have to agree for what sort of 'feel' the book gives, they were spot on. (I haven't read so I can't compare the style or caliber of writing styles, but I've seen the movie adaptations of those two books)

It's fluffy, sweet, and also a bit about embracing change and the unknown while making sure you KNOW who you want to be or don't want to be because we're not always sure of who we are in the moment.

Ella was one of the popular girls and she still is but I loved watching her morph, to change her own perception of her friends and herself, and not to mention I also adored her sister and both Pete and Andy as the boys in this book.

3.5/5 huge cups of coffee from me, thanks so much to the publisher and NetGalley for an eARC of this in exchange for my honest opinion.

Wow, this book left me really delighted and impressed, I thought it was the typical cliché, but no. He had an end I didn't expect.
This book is perfect for Valentine's day, I can't wait to have it in physical, I can say that you will receive this story as best as possible. It has of course romance, and mystery, if they read it well has mystery, has many twists history, wow I finished it in a day, rarely happens to me that in a book.
The characters are cozy and I felt them very closely, I felt like I knew them in real life, haha literally.
I highly recommend this book, because it has an unexpected and spectacular ending, I mean it, it is the perfect combination of romance and mystery.
This author shone with this book.

Thanks to PRH Internacional for this e-book.

11 Paper Hearts is the story about Ella, a high school student who seems to have everything going for her: popularity, a big group of friends, and the most popular guy in school as her boyfriend. It isn’t until the night of the Valentine’s Day dance—when she gets in a car accident—that all of that changes, losing her memories of the eleven weeks leading up to the event. One year later, still unable to recall those weeks, she starts receiving mysterious paper hearts from a secret admirer, giving her clues as to what happened those weeks so that she can begin to find answers to the questions that keep haunting her: why did she break up with her boyfriend, Pete, and what could have possible prompted her to leave the dance early?

This was such a cute and fun story. Ella’s journey, from trying to find out who kept sending her the paper hearts, along with changing as a person and outgrowing the life with her friends and boyfriend that she thought had always been perfect for her, was really nice to see. I thought the way Ella stood up to her friends, especially Carmen, was really well done and was happy at the end when she was able to do things that she wouldn’t have had the pleasure of experiencing had she been the person her friends expected her to be. I thought the mystery aspect was great as well, really making me wonder who the secret admirer was; just when I thought I had finally figured it out, something in the story would pop up, completely changing my mind. As for the romance, I thought it was very sweet and I couldn’t get enough of it. The conversations between Andy and Ella were really cute and I wish I’d have more of them, especially in the end since it felt a little bit rushed.

I absolutely adored this! So much so that I read it in a day. Ella’s struggle is frustrating, but I thoroughly love the concept of someone taking it into their own hands to send her on an adventure that hopefully ends with her regaining her memories. I also love that you don’t really realize you’re reading a love story the entire time until the very end. Such a beautiful book, and one I will be recommending far and wide!

Ella's life was perfect until she got into a serious car accident on the day of the Valentine's Day dance. As a result she lost her memories of the eleven weeks leading up to the accident. Fast-forward a year later and Ella starts to find paper hearts with clues that take her on a scavenger hunt for memories.

The premise of this book was interesting a will make for a great cozy read leading into February with the right audience. I was not fully sold on the execution. I felt there were many things that still did not make sense to me by the end of the story. So I am undecided on how to rate this book. It is somewhere between it was okay and I liked it.

Thank you Netgalley for an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. I wish there was half star ratings.
