Since this is a sample of a few chapters, I won't be posting a full review of this book until it releases later this month and I get to read the full book. I loved this preview and I've been posting about this upcoming release though! I'm very excited to see how this series ends!
This excerpt has me incredibly excited for book three in this exciting trilogy. In my mind there is nothing more satisfying than a successful conclusion to a series and as old enemies arise and new battles occur this promises to be a thrilling adventure!
Well this was only an excerpt so I only got to read 4 chapters and it was not even the first 4, after the third it goes to chapter 9 but what I read I loved. I am definitely buying this book as soon as it comes out because I loved the first 2 books and they were top reads for me, this is definitely a must read for me.
This is a short 4 chapter preview of the book, A Vow So Bold and Deadly. Each chapter of from a different perspective of the main characters of the series. I loved getting to see everyone again and getting a little piece of their minds. We get the set up for the rest of the book. I’m so excited to actually read the entirety of it! Love the book and love the series!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bloomsbury YA for this awesome preview of A Vow So Bold and Deadly! I loved reading every moment of these four preview chapters and am even more excited to finally get to read the whole thing! I loved picking back up where we left off and getting to see the perspectives of all four main characters. Cant wait to read it all!
I received this and as an eARC to read for free in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and Bloomsbury USA Children's Books for giving me access.
I don't know why I do this to myself. This excerpt certainly did the job of sucking me back into Emberfall. Thankfully this is just about to be published so I can read the rest!
Such a great start to this third installment! Can't wait to read the full book. The characters continue to surprise me, and I love how the shifting points-of-view keep the narrative and the action moving.
It’s impossible to review a book based on a short sample, but if the first two books are anything to go by, this will be exciting and heart-breaking. It’s definitely onto a good start, and the cliff-hanger at the end of Lia’s chapter ensures that I’ll have to read the full book the moment it is published. I don’t know how it’ll be brought to a satisfying conclusion, but I’m definitely going to find out.
I have been anxiously waiting for Kemmerer's third book in the "Cursebreakers" series, since the second I finished the second book, in fact. Although my advanced reader copy was only an excerpt, I can see that I will not be disappointed with the story.
The last time we saw our heroes, Grey had returned to Ironfell to confront his younger brother Rhen (previously the man he had sworn an oath to protect as the commander of his guard). Rhen, clearly still suffering some PTSD after the magical curse that trapped him for hundreds of years in his castle, is unable to accept Grey’s presence in his life. Even his beloved Harper cannot sway his opinion, choosing instead to fight against any instance of magic in his kingdom.
I was immediately excited that this story returns both Rhen and Harper's perspectives, something that I sorely missed in the last book even if I did understand the author’s choice to remove them from the narrative. I think Grey might be one of my favorite fantasy characters of all time. His cold and stiff demeanor seems so at odds with the man who lays his coat down in the snow so that small children can have something warm to stand on -- the man who took a thirteen-year-old kid under his wing to protect.
I have already purchased the third book and am incredibly excited to read the rest when it comes out on January 26th.
The sample chapters, one from each perspective, were so good! I can’t wait to read the whole thing. I’m in love with this series.
Although I can’t truly rate this as it was only the first four chapters, I can say I loved what I read. I can’t wait to read the full book. I absolutely love this series
Although I can’t review the book because it’s only a excerpt, this got me more excited to read the book and I can’t wait to read it the rest.
What a tease. Not going to lie, I had hoped for a bit more but it only made me hungry for the actual book. In preparation I have reread the first two books so BRING IT ON.
It was hard to tell from this excerpt how great this book will be. The shifting between the four different voices might be hard to follow, and it seems like Rhen has become quite a different character as the series has progressed. Still, fans of the series, like myself, will certainly eagerly await the full novel to see how it concludes. I predict happy endings, although the ARC excerpt gave nothing away.
Thanks publishers for the sneak peak exercpt.
***THIS IS ONLY AN EXCERPT***
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Bloomsbury USA Children's Books for this excerpt in exchange for an honest review.
This was a tease of what's to come!!! I'm instantly hooked and cannot wait until my physical book arrives in the mail. We get to see all the character's POV in this last book and it is definitely interesting. I'm ready to have my third book hangover, please and thank you!
This was only an excerpt so I cannot write a full review yet. I will definitely be reading this as soon as I get my hands on it. I love the series and can't wait for this final book to arrive. If possible, I will update this rating after I read the full book. As it is my first NetGalley read, I mistakenly downloaded an excerpt.
I’m so excited for the conclusion to this series. Kemmerer has created a fresh new twist on a classic story.
I can not wait to read this book. I already know from the excerpt that I will be giving it 5 stars! Such an awesome series.
This sample was not enough, I wanted to read more!
Like all things, sadly, it is the end to a pretty great series. I’m not going to lie and say this series was prefect. Book one was amazing, so much that I read it really fast. I was extremely excited for book two and was disappointed. It felt like an entirely different series and left me a bit confused. So in reading this teaser I didn’t know what to expect but I kept an open mind.
To start, I really enjoyed having Harper and Rhen back as POV characters. I believe it is why I was completely let down when I read A Heart So Fierce and Broken. I couldn’t recognize the character I loved so much and I missed their perspective greatly. Having them back into the mix of the story was a nice surprise!
I can’t wait to see what else this book as to offer!
This small sample brought me right back into the world of Emberfall. I didn't remember much from this series before the sampler, but now I feel like I can jump right in again and finally start the finale to this amazing series.
I loved hearing from all four of the narrators in the sample. I'm a huge fan of Rhen, and I really missed his narration in the second book. Although Ali Mara wasn't my favorite narrator, I'm looking forward to these two sides fighting for control of Emberfall. The setup is amazing and all I want to do now is read the book!
Seriously, give me the book now please. I cannot wait another six days.
