I have loved this series since the first book and I can't wait for the third installment to come out! This story has been full of so many surprises and twists, its easy to get sucked into!
This excerpt doesn't include much, but it certainly makes readers want to read more!
I read the sampler for this book provided on NetGalley. A lot is going on here, all of our key characters Rhen, Harper and Grey are at war with themselves and conflicted by the looming actual war they unwilling find themselves in the middle of. I loved that Brigid Kemmerer does a fantastic job of displaying the gray morality of both Grey and Rhen. Both men are doing something terrible for what they perceive to be good intentions. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this book. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this sample arc in exchange for an honest review.
I love this story but could not read the excerpt cause it skipped about 50 pages. When it does this it is too hard for me to get into the story. I only read the first part of the excerpt. I am very excited to continue and am hoping to read the full galley.
Doesn't reveal much, of course since this is only a sample. Sad to see this story end, but excited all the same for this title! Fans of the previous two books will not be disappointed.
I have really enjoyed this series and am so looking forward to the final book. It’s such a good fairytale retelling. It’s creative and really pulls you in as a reader.
***SCREAMING INTERNALLY***
A big thank-you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with a teaser eARC in exchange for an honest review. I mean, is it January yet?! 2020 will FINALLY be over and I can FINALLY finish reading the conclusion of a series that has grown so close to my heart. This one feels really special because the whole gang’s together. I was hoarding the Rhen & Harper moments in Heart, so I’m so happy to have their points of view substantially back in the mix. And I will say, even with just the teaser, I need to know more about what’s happening in Syhl Shallow. I really grew to love Lia Mara and Grey in the last book. I just can’t wait to finish it. Is it on your TBR yet? It should be.
**I’ll update further after release, but I can’t see my love for this series changing anytime soon**
I loved the preview to the third installment of the modern day Beauty and the Beast trilogy by Brigid Kimmerer. I love this writer and can't wait for this book to come out. I can't wait to see how the curse and prophecy play out.
I got excited when I saw 'A Vow So Bold and Deadly' by Brigid Kemmerer listed as 'Read Now' on NetGalley. Unfortunately, it wasn't marked as such.. but it turned out to just be an excerpt.
That being said.. it was still really good!
Admittedly, I haven't read the first two books in the series yet. I was interested in them and even purchased the first a year or so back, but I wasn't in a rush. However, the excerpt changed all that.
Though it was only a brief, 30 page sampler.. it gave me a glimpse of each major character so far as I can tell and left me wanting more so badly that it pushed the previous books up on my tbr pile to 'urgent.' lol
There's tons of conflict, both between the characters and within them. Lots of little unrests, cases of insecurity or even remnants of betrayal and anger from the previous books and I'm desperate to know more. I already love both Grey and Prince Rhen for different reasons and the villianous Lilith is intriguing as can be.
Time to go pre-order..
A wonderful conclusion to a wonderful series. It is with a heavy heart that I must admit that I'm finally done with this series and it's over. Though bittersweet, I'm still glad I got to read such a memorable series that i'll hold close to my heart for a long time.
First of all, I appreciated how we got POV chapters for all four characters. I am a fan of books with multiple perspectives because they give you an insight on things from different angles and this book delivered me with such. It really helped that the conclusion to the series wraps up in such a way that it felt complete.
The romance in this book was also spectacular. From the beginning I was hooked onto the romance and couldn't stop obsessing over them. It was glorious and I enjoyed it a lot.
In conclusion, this book had everything I wanted. Will I miss this series? Definitely. But I'm excited for more books the author will publish in the future.
This sampler was fun and does give me high hopes for the final book in this trilogy! I enjoyed reading the first few chapters and am looking forward to reading the full book when it releases.
Being only a sampler, I wasn't exposed to enough of the book for an honest and detailed review. However, what I was given was enough to make me excited for this release. I'm am so STOKED that it is from the perspective of all of the characters. I'm hoping Rhen gets his act together so that Jodi Picoult has a more likeable love interest. I also hope that everyone gets the happy ending they deserve, because Harper had to sacrifice so much to get to this point and I really hope Rhen doesn't ruin it all. How many more days do we have left??
It is so wonderful to be back in the world of Emberfall again! I missed these characters so much. While I am excited to jump into this world again, I will definitely have to reread the first two books because it seems that I have forgotten a lot that has happened, especially in the second half of the second book, which is critical to know when I will be reading the finale when it is released. I am very excited to be reading Rhen's and Harper's POV again! And I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how the events from the second book will play out! Since this is just a short sampler, my rating will just be based on the chapters that have been released already.
I can't wait to read the rest of the book. I'm so happy to be back in the world again and am anxious to see what happens to the main characters.
I didn't realize at first that this was just an excerpt, but it was so good. I need the rest of the book immediately! I'm really excited to have all four character PoVs in this last book!
As this is a very short preview it is hard to give a full review. I loved A Curse So Dark And Lonely, but was a bit disappointed in its sequel, I missed Harper and Rhen. In this preview are two chapters from their point of view so that makes me happy! I will definitely read A Vow So Bold And Deadly when it will be released because I want to know how it ends.
I got a sampler of this book and it is interesting and wish to read the full book. The Sampler had four chapters with the perspectives of four characters Grey, Rhen, Harper, Lia Mara. Wish to know who wins the war or whether there is the war of soldiers or with their magic. How Lia Mara thinks to be a good queen and the child who visited and what happens next is not known as this is a sample.
There are two kingdoms Emberfall and Syhl Shallow. Rhen is the prince of Emberfall and Lia Mara is the queen of Syhl Shallow. She killed her mother as she was brutal and arrogant to their subjects she wishes to be the good strong queen who thinks of the welfare of the subjects and she doesn't want to hurt the people in her kingdom and she thinks what the people think of her as she is not so brutal like her mother. Grey is the true heir of Emberfall who escaped from there and is on the side of Syhl Shallow. Will Grey become the king of Emberfall. Syhl Shallow is always ruled by a queen and they think they don't need a man by their side but doesn't know what will be the decision of Lia Mara on this as if he Capture Emberfall and be a man on the side of Lia Mara.in ruling Syhl Shallow and Emberfall together.
I am in so much pain in the best way possible. Pain that this was only an excerpt. Pain that the characters are all in so much emotional turmoil. Pain that I have to wait until JANUARY to find out what happens.
All I'm saying is if Lia Mara and Grey don't get a happy ending, I'm throwing hands.
Grey! Rhen! Harper! Lia Mara!
I’m so thankful for a short visit with these characters and can hardly wait for a longer stay.
As always, Kemmerer’s writing is beautiful and captivating.
I will be waiting on the edge of my seat to learn how this all plays out.
I thought it would be a full arc but I'm also grateful for this short snippet.
I love that we get to know all the perspectives and I'm so hyped to read on in January.
I thought this was the full ARC and it wasn't, however I am super psyched about A Vow So Bold and Deadly! I cannot wait until the release!
Thank you to Netgalley and Bloomsbury YA for the snippet.
