I was pretty disappointed because it doesn't say anywhere that this a short sampler, or an excerpt. I thought I was lucky and I was wrong which sucks.

I don't remember much of the last book but the ending but the second book was a letdown for me as it went somewhere I did not expect or really enjoy.

But Harper seemed to have more of her steel back which is something that was missing from the second book. I got more from her in that chapter than I did in the whole second book.

The whole story seems like two brothers fighting as children over their game play, which I think is kind of the point they are just older now. I am excited to see where the rest of the story goes though.

Oh man, what a tease! ESPECIALLY the way the excerpt ended. This is only fueling my excitement for this book to come out in January. I love that this series is told from multiple perspectives - and there is something about this series that makes me lose track of time when I am reading. I am so pumped for this book!

*This review is for a four-chapter sampler rather than the entire book.*

The first two books in this trilogy introduced characters and stories that are familiar to audiences in an unfamiliar way. A magical retelling of Beauty and the Beast, without the fairytale ending.

At the end of the second book, Harper and Rhen are in a rough place, Harper having helped Grey, Rhen’s long lost brother. The book was split perspective, following Harper and Rhen in Emberfell and Grey and Lia Mara in Shyl Shallow. These groups were on entirely different paths.

The first book sets it up to follow the fairy tale pretty close, with Rhen being the Beast and Harper being the Beauty. Throughout the second book, these roles were a little muddled and we can’t really tell if Rhen is the Beast or maybe Gaston?

This preview gives us a glimpse into each of the characters. Grey and Lia Mara are trying to fall into their new roles and Harper and Rhen are trying to fall back to each other. This sampler starts the tensions high, and I can’t wait to read what comes next.

I really love this serie so far and I tough this was the full arc as it wasn't writing sample. Should have know that I wouldn't be lucky to be automatically approve for the full one. Please I need to read the full book. Even if I'm sure I will have to wait for the full one. Can't wait.

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Ugh, chapter samplers kill me on this website! Please label them as such because this wasn't. Now after diving into the few chapters of this book, I'm intrigued enough to want to read the rest of it. Sadly, I don't have that option at the moment. Nor do I think I will be given the full ARC either since that doesn't tend to happen whenever I get a sampler version.

I guess I will have to wait until this book gets published. Le sigh.

This excerpt was not enough! I need the rest of the book asap. I loved the first book in the series and recommended it to everyone I knew that liked to read. The second book was even better. And now having read this excerpt, I know that the author will not disappoint. I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of the book. January cannot come soon enough. Brigid Kemmerer can do no wrong in my book.
Thank you the NetGalley and publishers for providing me with this excerpt.

This excerpt was far too short! I can't wait to read the full book especially since we will have chapters from the perspectives of all four narrators from the previous two books!

Title - A Vow So Bold and Deadly

Author - Brigid Kemmerer

Genre - Fantasy

I have read the first two books and its been a lot many months now that I'm yet waiting for the third novel to come out. When I realised that an excerpt is available, it didn't take me long to request it and I was blown away. We see a chapter of each character and one can deduce that the tensions have started rising among the characters and the readers will soon be thrown into action. Looking forward to the release of the book.

I haven’t read any of the other Cursebreaker books and I had absolutely no idea what to expect. After reading those four chapters I fell in love with not only the story but also the characters. The chapters are told in first person through the eyes of Grey, Rhen, Harper and Lia Mara. I find that this helps me to see and feel the same things they do, instead of just being told what is happening.

This preview has me so intrigued to what is going to happen next especially with that cliff hanger. I was definitely convinced to order the two previous books so I can catch up for when my preordered A Vow So Bold And Deadly is released.

I recieved an advanced copy for free, and this is my honest opinion.

Please kind people at Bloomsbury, Brigid Kemmerer, and any others, may I please have more of this book now?

One one my favorite parts of Brigid Kemmerer's A Curse So Dark and Lonely series is that she tells every side of the story. There is no one that is 100% evil (well perhaps Lilith, but her name literally means "Night Monster", so no one should be surprised when she's evil incarnate).

This except was amazing. I love how, within only a few pages, Brigid Kemmerer is able to bring you right back into the world while giving you all of the backstory you will need to know without it sounding like a history lesson. She also does a wonderful job giving all four character's their own unique voices. I'm sure that even if the chapter header didn't indicate which character's POV, that it would only take a few lines to figure it out.

This Excerpt has stirred up the kindling embers of my passion for this book and flamed them into a roaring fire.

I Cannot wait for the rest of this book to come out. Thank you for the opportunity to read the first bit of it.

Releases January 12, 2020

Book 3 of Cursebreakers trilogy

Received the four chapter sampler thanks to the publisher through NetGalley.

I have been waiting to read A VOW SO BOLD AND DEADLY since I finished book two. It has also been on my list to order since then too (and sitting my cart until it get a bit closer to release because I am absolutely preordering and it’s going to look so pretty next to its siblings on my shelf. 🥰

This sampler contains the first chapter from each POV (so 4 absolutely incredible chapters). The characters are just as rich as in the first two books and I am HOOKED. I cannot wait until January! I am so so so hoping that ARCs exist and I am lucky enough to get one.

The trilogy started as a Beauty and The Beast retelling but it has evolved so much that I keep forgetting that’s what I was originally obsessed with.

If you haven’t read A CURSE SO DARK AND LONELY you must read it now. I promise you will fall in love with Harper and Rhen and Grey.

I am so excited to read this book and reading this excerpt made me even more excited!!! I can't wait to see where Kemmerer takes this series next! Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

As always, Brigid Kemmerer's writing never fails to amaze me. Just from this excerpt I know that the third book in this series will be the most captivating one yet, having already seen chapters from all four main characters points of view. I am intrigued to see how the war will play out between both sets of siblings sitting on opposite sides.

A fantastic preview that only got me more excited for the future release! I love how all the stories are coming together now; we get all four POVs which makes for a fascinating in depth view into everyone's motives.

I was excited for this book before but I could be patient for its release... but now after reading the excerpt I don't think I can wait!
I forgot how much I missed Rhen, Harper and Lia Mara. I loved the insight into how Harper is dealing with everything that happened in the second book and I really enjoyed hearing from Rhen again, even if I'm still mad at him. The end of the excerpt caused me to freak out! Why does Brigid do this to us?!
I'll be counting down the days until it's out!
