I'm a little confused as to why this went the way it did, I did not appreciate. I will "yield" to my disappointment and give this a 3/5. The writing was ok, but man, the story.

This was just an excerpt. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to finish the rest of the book! This series has been one of my favorites since it came out.

I had high hopes for the conclusion of the Cursebreakers series, but A Vow So Bold and Deadly did not live up to expectations. I loved the first two books in the series, so I will admit they were high. AVSBAD just fell flat. There was a ton of build-up and then the whole story is resolved in 20 pages. I was left feeling disappointed and all-around dissatisfied with how the series concluded.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers, and author for giving me the opportunity to review this book. This series has been so much fun! I can’t wait to reread and discover all the little details that I might have missed.

Satisfying conclusion to the trilogy! Plenty of character development and progressive growth for many of the characters. If you've read the other two books in this series, you'll like (most) of how the story concludes.

When I initially requested this I did not realize it was just a sample. The beginning of this sample of A VOW SO BOLD AND DEADLY, starts off promising and I am excited to see how this trilogy concludes. A lot has transpired in the previous two books, so I am hoping for a strong conclusion to end everything with a bang.

I asked for this ARC not realising it was a sample! But in any case I have since read the book and was immensely satisfied with this final installment of Kemmerer's much-loved YA series. Strangely, I found myself connecting more with the secondary characters than the primary ones we fell in love with in the first book. A story that weaves magic with friendship, love and a brutal power-struggle, I'd recommend this series to anyone.

A Vow So Bold and Deadly is the third book in The Cursebreakers series by Brigid Kemmerer. I received the first four chapters to review, but have since read the entire book. A Curse So Dark and Lonely was my first YA fantasy book, and I immediately fell in love. What’s not love about a retelling of Beauty and the Beast? It tells the story of Rhen and Harper, but my favorite character was Grey so I was excited when I found out A Heart So Fierce and Broken would focus more on his story. It also includes a new character, Lia Mara. I gave both of these books 5 stars. When I heard that A Vow So Bold and Deadly would bring all four main characters together I couldn’t wait to read it.
The first four chapters alternate so each character has their own chapter. I was hooked right away! The book then goes into sections where we have Rhen and Harper alternating chapters and Lia Mara and Grey alternating chapters. I liked the way it was written from all four perspectives. The one thing I wanted though were more chapters with the four of them together.
I love Brigid Kemmerer’s books. She’s become one of my favorite authors, but I just wanted more from this story. I didn’t feel like it had the same excitement as the first two books and at times I actually found it somewhat slow. I still enjoyed it though and was happy to see how the story unfolded. I’m still #teamgrey for life!
Thank you NetGalley and Bloomsbury USA for an advanced excerpt in exchange for my honest review.

What a great read! I have enjoyed this series so much and this installment did not disappoint. “‘Don’t yield to me either.,’ I say, and I have to swallow past the sudden emotion in my throat. ‘Yield to yourself. Yield to forgiveness. Yield to happiness. Yield to this moment. It’s not hers. It’s yours. It’s mine. It’s ours.’” -A Vow So Bold and Deadly

I love this series and I hate that it's over. I feel like this book was getting close to the end, and I worried about loose ends getting ties up, but it delivered them in a tight little bundle. I also didn't like the parallel romances. It could have been mixed up a bit. Idk what was wrong, but I felt like we needed a bit more? It's getting 4 stars for the pace and conclusion, but not a 5 for perfection.

I really liked this excerpt and I cannot wait until I can get my hands on the full book so I can review it in its entirety!

I enjoyed what I read and can’t wait to read the full thing! I’m so excited to dive back in and see how this will all end.. we shall see

This was a complete and utter disappointment, though considering I didn't like the 2nd book of the series, it's not too much of a disappointment. I had hope that maybe this would be better than the 2nd but I honestly think it may have been worse.
I don't know what happened to the characters of the first book but there's a huge disconnect between them and the characters that ended the series. Not one of them really accomplished anything or even actively tried to accomplish anything. This whole book was extremely underwhelming and I hated the fact that none of the characters actually did anything to change what was happening. Rather than being actionary, they were reactionary, and considering how actionary they were in the first book, I felt really let down.
Add that onto the fact that I felt as if this book had no plot. They all spent 3/4 of the book preparing for a war that never happened. All anyone was concerned about was the war and the damn thing never even happened. The 'big' fight with Lilith was over in a blink of an eye and then Brigid threw some new conflict at the end that no one ever really touched base on and then bam, book over.
If there's more books to this series, I'm certainly not continuing because while the first book was a home run, the second two weren't engaging enough for me to want to continue on.

The third and final installment of the Cursebreaker Trilogy, and honestly it was a bit draining.
I wasn't entirely sure who I was rooting for in this one. Everybody kinda sucked all the way around. The beautiful character building that was A Curse So Dark and Lonely was completely stripped to the bare minimum, the little bit of ump that was added in A Heart So Fierce and Broken is just gone and that leaves us pretty stagnant.
I honestly finished this book because I needed closure on this series. It turned into a downward spiral that I could not get myself out of until I was done with it. Completely disappointed.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me this Arc in exchange for a honest review...
I'm sad to see this series ending, I liked what I've read so far, can't wait to read the rest!

I absolutly love all of her books. I have every one of them and read them all mulitple times.
if you are looking for a beauty and the beast retelling and a heroic battle this is the book for you.
Also check out her other books besides this trilogy.
all of them are great.

This was only an excerpt but OHMYGOSHHHHHH!!! Cannot wait for the final book in this trilogy. I love retellings and I love how this story has run with Beauty & the Beast and then some. I will be getting this book to read the whole thing for sure!

I couldn’t wait for A Vow so Bold and Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer and when I got approved for it I totally freaked out!! I’m a huge fan of Brigid Kemmerer. Her Contemporaries are always so dang good and this fantasy retelling series doesn’t disappoint.
Description
I was so excited to see that each character, Harper, Rhen, Grey, and Lia Mara, had their own POV and an equal amount as well. We left off with A Heart so Fierce and Broken with Grey giving Rhen 60 days before they attack. What Rhen doesn’t know is that Lady Lillith is back and pretty much controlling Rhen and his actions by threatening to take Harper back. Rhen has not told Harper any of this. Their relationship has been strained ever since Rhen had Grey whipped and he doesn’t want to make things worse. Lia Mara, on the other hand, is having some trouble gaining the trust of her advisers and her people. Not everyone trusts her judgment and not everyone likes the fact that Grey, someone who wields magic, is by her side. Grey is happier than he’s been with Lia Mara and wants to protect her at any cost. He is just having some trouble getting the army to trust and follow him.
Thoughts
AHHHH. This was my thought pretty much throughout the whole book. I may have liked this one more than the second one. It was nice to get more of Harper this go-round. I also liked Lia Mara more in this book. Grey and Harper are still my favorite though. I no longer ship them but I do think they have a special friendship. It’s so hard for me to go crazy with my thoughts without spoiling any of the books.
Character Love
Harper- I love Harper and I have since the first book. There were a few times I got frustrated with her, especially with some of the decisions she made, but it didn’t last long.
Rhen- I got pretty annoyed with Rhen. I love him with Harper, but sometimes I think she could have done better 🤷🏻♀️
Grey- Grey has always been one of my favorites. I really like him with Lia Mara, and somewhat felt that he would make a good King.
Lia Mara- I haven’t always been her fan, but you can’t help but like her. She is so dang sweet and honestly wants what is best for her people.
Jake- I loved Jake in this book! His friendship with Grey was the best. I feel like he grew a ton in this series.
Noah- Always the level-headed one. I am so glad that he and Jake stayed and that they both went with Grey.
Zo- I can’t imagine a better friend for Harper. They really are perfect for each other.
Conclusion
I’m sad that this series is over but A Vow so Bold and Deadly was a great ending to the series. I know there are mixed feelings about this series, but I loved it. I cannot wait to see what Kemmerer comes out with next.

This excerpt of A Vow So Bold and Deadly was just enough to entice the reader. I loved every second of it and I cannot wait to read the rest of this book as soon as possible!

The pacing felt a lot slower than the previous books. While parts were enjoyable and I did like the ending, overall it was my least favorite of the series.
