I found this to be an easy-to-follow guide to help establish foundations to training with your pup. Each dog has a different style of learning, so every trick or approach may not work for you and them, but I feel confident everyone will find at least a few things to help them. I especially recommend this for those with new puppies.
This is a great little book full of joy and positivity.
The book has such a happy feel to it and the way that the Author writes how to train your dog is well explained and thought through. She very obviously loves dogs and knows her stuff.
My pooch and I will be trying out these new things soon and Im sure it will be easy to do as the steps are broken down into small pieces.
Thanks to Netgalley and Quatro Publishing for the ARc. My Review is my own opinion.
What a great book! I've been looking for something that would help me take my 1-year-old poodle to the next level, and this is exactly what I need! Step-by-step fun training exercises that build on each other and help you and your dog have fun while learning new things. The writing style is easy to follow, and the illustrations are great. Can't wait to get started! Love this!
This is a bright, positive, simple to follow instruction manual to train your dog. It is so well laid out with each piece of advice broken down into simple steps with accompanying pictures. A must have for anyone who wishes to train their dog.
A new puppy at home has made me realize how much I needed a book like this! One dog trainer I met with recommended using a shock collar (!), so I was so happy to see that this book is all about training with positive reinforcement. The book is a quick read with a lot of helpful facts on how to train your dog to do basic commands (and a few more complicated ones). The instructions are easy to understand and the included graphics add an extra level of explanation.
I'm not 100 percent sure all of the training aspects will work on my dog but I have a much better understanding of the do's and don'ts now (including how my dog's brain actually works) - which I'm very grateful for! I'd definitely recommend to someone who's looking for a basic training guide that's a super easy read.
Very informative and helpful. Great tips and tricks for teaching your dog. Easy to read language, great examples and illustrations. Highly recommend if you're a dog owner or have an interest in training dogs. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to review this ARC.
Fun look at dog training in a humane way. Author gives us detailed steps from basics to more advanced dog tricks. I enjoyed the fun pictures and easy to follow directions.
What did I like? The author shows a beautiful love for dogs that comes out in a humane approach to training them. From the easy tricks to more advanced this was an easy book to follow. Author gives you a list of things you need to train your dog and some tips that I’d really never heard before. Since the author makes her living training dogs, I’m sure even hard to train dogs will benefit from this approach.
Would I recommend or buy? I would love a copy. I can’t wait to try this stuff out on a dog. I’m apartment living right now but just bought a property and saving for a fence. After though, I would love to give a dog a loving home. I seriously think this book had some great ideas.
I received a copy to read and voluntarily left a review.
This is an amazing book! I am hoping to be a qualified dog behaviourist and trainer and this is extremely helpful. I also think this is a really helpful resource for those wishing to train their puppy or further their training with an adult dog. An amazing book!
Interesting little book, full of useful little tips that I've never tried before. Loved the bright vibe & useful pictures inside. Definitely going to be getting some of this on my two wayward pooches
I'm always pleased with Sundance's books. The instruction is clear with written instructions as well as illustrations showing the steps to training each behavior. Tips are given for keeping your dog motivated, making training fun and breaking down behaviors into easy to learn steps.
Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group – Quarry and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
This was a very colorful and interesting book. We recently adopted a puppy and since the pandemic we haven’t been able to get her into a puppy school yet. This book was very informative, although a lot of the tricks were more mostly fun tricks, then fundamental, I think older dogs who have the basics would be a better fit for this book. Some hints and tools mentioned however were things that we could work on, one our own, such as the sit and stay. The instructions given are simple enough a novice like me can understand. Overall it was a good book.
