This is the third instalment in Fiona Leitch's Nosey Parker Mysteries series. Set in a Cornish coastal town, Jodie 'Nosey' Parker has moved back to her small hometown for a more peaceful life. She has served in the Metropolitan Police force for longer than she cares to remember and is in Penstowan after her retirement along with her daughter Daisy, aged 12, as new residents. Passionate about baking, she wanted to own and run her own catering company so she has retrained as a caterer, setting up Banquets and Bakes.

In this instalment, a film company is in town looking to cast the townsfolk for extras in a period drama fantasy to be shot later in the year at Polvarrow House, Penstowan Cross. Jodie sees an opportunity to spend some time with her mum, Shirley and Daisy and she needs the money to buy a new computer for her daughter and repair the Gimpmobile (her catering van) so tries to drum up some enthusiasm for the casting. Encouraged by her long-term best friend Tony Penhaligan, Jodie ends up cast as a washerwoman as part of a group of five, along with new friend Debbie. When the film company's food van owner Gino has an accident, Jodie jumps in to help feed the hungry crowds. Other mishaps and strange incidents occur and then the lead actor is brutally murdered and she realises there is a killer at large.

This is a riveting cozy, rich in mystery, intrigue and deception. The police investigate and Jodie is eager to offer her expertise and help in whatever way she can. I continued to warm to the character of Jodie and found her extremely down-to-earth, with a terrific no-nonsense attitude and the lead detective, DCI Nathan Withers was amenable to Jodie helping out.

Fiona Leitch's writing style is imaginative and the story has depth and a great flow. The author did a brilliant job of transporting me to the Cornish countryside and I felt the rustic charm whilst easily visualising the chocolate-box setting. Love is in the air for the ex-copper turned caterer, Jodie as childhood friend Tony is still around and there's the continuation of the odd romantic rumbling from DCI Withers who's happy to let Jodie assist in the case unperturbed by her wheedling into police matters. I enjoyed that all of the vivid characters had something to contribute to the story and this engaging mystery was a pleasure to read from beginning to end. I recommend A Sprinkle of Sabotage very highly especially if you like your cozies with mouthwatering recipes and a delectable dash of romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from One More Chapter via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

So this is my first Nosey Parker mystery, and I really enjoyed it! The characters are adorable, and they are so well developed, they really come to life for the reader! I thought the story was paced well, and really sped along at a great pace! I absolutely need to go back now and read the other books in this series because I want more!!

This is one cozy mystery series that is guaranteed to make me laugh out loud at least several times during the story. I love Fiona Leitch’s witty banter and charming characters and always finish her books feeling happy and satisfied.

Even though this is the third book in the series, you can easily jump right in to the story without feeling lost. There is just enough background to get you up to speed quite seamlessly, although I do highly recommend that you read the first two books in the series as well because it gives you a better understanding of all the characters and their relationships, especially the semi-love-triangle between Jodie, her best friend Tony Penhaligon and DCI Nathan Withers. In case you’re curious, here are my reviews of Book 1, Murder on the Menu, and Book 2, A Brush with Death.

The murder mystery itself was fun to unravel. The new characters introduced in this story all revolve around a movie set – there are lots of egos and interesting personalities, including an aging movie icon, a hearthrob movie hunk and a spoiled young diva. Both Jodie and Tony are pulled into the action when they get personally involved with members of the cast. Becoming friendly with the cast made it easier (and more believable) for them to integrate themselves into the crime-solving.

While I really enjoyed all the books in the series, currently A Sprinkle in Sabotage is my favourite of the three. The characters have been developed enough for me to be familiar with them and there is some great character development in this story. I also enjoyed the way the main characters engaged with the “new” characters – everything always feels very natural.

The pacing of this book was very even and moved along nicely – there was always something happening, but it never felt too rushed and there wasn’t any really slow points in the story.

Part of what makes this series so great is the main protagonist, Jodie. What sets her apart from most other cozy mystery main characters is that, while she’s the mandatory ‘amateur detective’, she isn’t really all that ‘amateur’. She retired from London’s Metropolitan Police Force in order to give her daughter Daisy a better life, but that means she knows her way around the law, and can take care of herself in a jam. That makes her actions, and her search for the truth and justice, much more realistic than most cozy characters.

And I’m not kidding when I say that I laugh out loud while reading this book. Yes, it’s a murder mystery and has all the seriousness of that, but at the same time there are a lot of light-hearted moments and just feel-good writing that you can’t help smile at. The characters are far from perfect, but there’s just enough quirkiness and flaws to go around that it makes them seem more real. I, for one, would love to hang out with Jodie.

There is also a resolution to the love triangle that I mentioned earlier. Normally, I’m not really a fan of love triangles, especially ones that drag on for too many books. Also, if there is a triangle, I usually have a favourite and depending on the outcome, I have been known to quit a series if the MC chooses the (according to me) wrong man. LOL. However, I actually couldn’t decide between Tony and Nathan – they both had really good qualities and ‘fit’ with Jodie in their own way. So when the triangle was resolved, I felt a bit sad, but also happy that Jodie could move forward with her life. I seriously wasn’t kidding when I said I loved everything about this series!

While the first three books in the Nosey Parker Mysteries came out in pretty quick succession, there hasn’t been a fourth book announced (yet) so fingers crossed we’ll get more adventures with Jodie in the near future!

The third instalment of The Nosey Parker Mysteries was just as entertaining as it’s predecessors.

Classic British humour, delightful small town antics and a mystery that keeps you completely hooked.

You never want to read these books if you’re feeling slightly peckish. The descriptions of the food leave your mouth watering.

This is the type of series to lose yourself in for a few hours. I’m hoping we’ll get more books in the future.

This is the second time that I have read a book by Fiona Leitch, and I have found it to be quite entertaining. It certainly isn't high-brow literature, but it doesn't pretend to be.

The Nosey Parker is Jolie who has recently left her life as a detective in the Metropolitan Police, to return to her childhood home town in Cornwall. By now, in the third book, several of the characters are becoming more established.

I found the style of writing to be entertaining and rather amusing. The storyline is fairly unbelievable, yet I still enjoyed the Agatha Christie-esque red herrings which abound along the way to discovering who was behind the repeated problems at the film set.

Suffice to say that nothing is clear cut. I will keep my eye open for further books when I am looking for a light-hearted quick read.

I give my thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins UK for a copy in exchange for this review.

Third in the Nosey Parker mystery series and very very good

When cast as an extra on a period fantasy drama filming in the town, Jodie soon swaps standing around on set for hours on end for serving out of the crews catering wagon when the cook is injured in what can only be described as a freak accident, with a set of steps. What soon becomes clear after several other incidents is that someone is out for a little sabotage

Loved this and although this is only the second book i have read by this author i do feel as if i have know the characters for ever

Having read the previous book, I was intrigued how this could be read as a standalone, rather than part of a series, however, I did not need to worry. The author cleverly referred back ,meaning you were either having a memory refresh,or you could read the story as a one off, and still enjoy the book.
A jolly romp around a Cornish village, with Ms nosey Parker, at the helm once again.
Now with the added bonus of two leading men in her life, and a film production company that needs to be saved.

This book is great! It is entertaining, witty, fast-paced, and cozy mysterious! Whenever I picked up "A Sprinkle of Sabotage", I put on my sleuthing detective hat to solve crime.

This is the third book in Fiona Leitch's "The Nosey Parker Mysteries", and I so hope there will be many more! Her writing is delightful, and she truly knows how to bring a story to life. Her characters spring to life right off of the page, and she brilliantly creates a mystery in which the reader feels like they are solving what happened right along with the characters. The puzzle pieces and clues fall into place at exactly the right moment, and it is so intriguing!

Jodie is such an intelligent, funny, spunky, witty, and kind woman. When her friend convinces her to be an extra in a period movie (along with her mother and daughter already wanting to be!), never could she have imagined what occurs. As things start to go wrong, Jodie steps in to help in any way she can, including helping to figure out what really has happened. I do not want to spoil anything specifically, so, I will simply say, you must read this book! It is phenomenal!

If you enjoy cozy mysteries, I highly recommend this book! It had me turning the pages to see what would happen next, and, I hope that we will see many of these characters again in future books.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and One More Chapter for the ARC of this book, I so enjoyed it! All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Jodie might get stuck in a potato sack as a movie extra but she is a star when comes to subbing for the on set caterer. That is until the leading man serves blowfish at a small birthday dinner party. The story has you guessing as to whether it was a an accidental poisoning or if it was intentional. Jodie is as cheeky as always and feeling confused about what she is feeling/thinking about her best mate who does a Mr. Darcy (when did he get a 6 pack, eh?) and then there is DI Withers that causes her to ... yeah you get the picture. Jodie knows that something just isn't quite right and all that movie drama isn't helping. For the first time Nathan realizes that it is better to work with Jodie than against her and the officially team up to solve this medieval movie mystery. I almost jumped to the end because I was so into the story and the relationship development that I was tempted to see if it was going to make me cry or cry. Yep I cried, not gonna tell you why, as Jodie would say, you need to do the work yourself. I REALLY like how the recipe reads as if Jodie is reading it to you, and those tempura fritters were so good that I ate/sampled a bunch before serving them to the family. Quality assurance after all!

This is book number 3 in the nosy Parker series by Fiona Leitch and I must say it was a complete joy to read... I mean apart from the murder 😂

This time round a tv crew has come to the Cornish village of Penstowan, the whole village has been cast as extras even Jodie. She decides to enjoy her time as an extra but soon enough she finds that the caterer has been sabotaged and so Jodie steps in.

With so much going wrong during the filming the cast and crew are left wondering if they are cursed or someone is trying to ruin things.

A great read and I must say I flew through this book, here’s hoping we get more from this author soon!

Oh and I also love that there is a recipe included at the end!

I love Jodie, she’s a sassy lady! A chef with a past. She’s a worthy partner in crime and life to DCI Nathan Withers.
I love her lovely little farty pants doggy, her meddling mum and her daughter Daisy.
This is a really fun book with positive female roles, I love the chemistry between Jodie and Tony her bestie.

Please write some more of these books.
They are books both myself and my Mum would love.

This is the third book in the Jodie 'nosey' Parker series and it has become one of my favourite series. It is well written with great storylines but what most appeals to me is the humour, characters and setting.

The books are set in Cornwall and I can visualise the setting as I am reading. I have found this my favourite book so far as we get to know Jodie and the other characters more - i particularly enjoy Nathan and Jodies mum.

This is a wonderful series to curl up on the sofa with and be transported to a quaint coastal town. I look forward to book 4

I loved it. It is a "cosy mystery", more Agatha Christie than Scandinavian crime books, so nothing too gory. The background is a film set during shooting a film, which makes the story even more interesting. The characters are partly the same residents of the little Cornish town as in the first two parts of the trilogy, partly actors from the film with their attitudes and quirks. Actors tend to be superstitious and soon there is a rumour that the film set is cursed as suspicious accidents start happening. Then somebody dies. Jodie, the ex-cop together with the local police investigates the case and in the end finds the culprit.
There is also some romance in the story, and a happy ending for the (secret) lovers.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was sorry when it ended. I can recommend it to everybody who loves romance and mystery.

A Sprinkle of Sabotage by Fiona Leitch is the best in the series so far. Hollywood comes to Cornwall and Jodies village all sign up as extras but our heroine quickly cottons on to the fact that someone is sabotaging the set.

I love all the inside info that is included and the superstition. It’s really well written and I won’t spoil it but this is definitely my favourite book so far. The suspense is really well handled and the reveals unpredictable

Unfortunately I couldn’t get into my NetGalley account until after the publication date but thank you to NetGalley and to Harper Collins One more Chapter for the e-arc in exchange for an unbiased and honest review.

Definite recommend to all those who enjoy a good cozy mystery and/or culinary extravaganza.

The third instalment of the Nosey Parker Mysteries, and the second I've read. I'm glad to report you don't need to read the series in order (though the more you know, the more you may get out of various character interactions).

This time around, a film company has come to the small town where Jodie lives and everyone's desperate for a part as an extra. It's a period production, so lots of roles to be had, though Jodie's not especially pleased to be cast as a kitchen-hand wearing a sack, when nearly everyone else is wearing beautiful gowns. Clothes aside, it seems quite fun... until the little incidents start happening.

Things start going wrong and people gossip - is the production cursed?

Soon enough there's a body, too. Can ex-police, now-caterer Jodie 'Nosey' Parker figure out who did it and save the day?

It's an entertaining read and I enjoyed spending time with Jodie and her family and friends (and love interests? Couldn't possibly say!). The mystery didn't pull me in quite as much as in her first book, but I was happy to go along for the ride.

This is the first I've read by this author/series but it does well as a stand-alone.
Jodie (Nosey) Parker is a single mom, daughter, ex-cop, dog owner, and caterer (who can't decide which of two friends she is more attracted to), and finds herself as an extra on a movie set. But there are a lot of pseudo accidents on the set, culminating in a death. Trying not to repeat the blurb or do spoilers but I really enjoyed this one!
I requested and received a free temporary ebook copy from HarperCollins UK/ One More Chapter via NetGalley. Thank you!

This is another great fun read from from Fiona Leitch, where we get caught up in third investigation by Jodie (Nosey )Parker and the dishy DCI Nathan Withers. I love the characters in these stories- they make you laugh and cry and you quickly become caught up in their lives. Covering themes of friendship, family, romance and murder, the story is a great mix of all things good and hopefully it won’t be too long til we have another chance to catch up with Jodie, Nathan and Tony.

Thank you to Netgalley, One More Chapter and Fiona Leitch for my arc of A Sprinkle of Sabotage in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoy the first two books in this series, though parts of book 2 disappointed me a little these issues were definitely resolved in book 3.
As usual we see Jodie 'nosey' parker heading up a mystery in her 'quiet' Cornish town. With the help of best friend Tony and potential love interest policeman Nathan.
These mysteries are a fun blend of cooking, outrageous behaviour and comedy along with Jodie's signature crime busting attempts that I've come to love.
I really hope that there will be more in this series.
