The Finale to the BMTH trilogy was nothing short of amazing. I laughed and I cried. I was frustrated, overwhelmed, confused, and in love- right along with Zera and her merry band of friends.

It was so good to see old Lucien from book 1, after the broken shell of betrayed he was in book 2. He has come to terms with his heart and what it wants and can we just say that when this boy loves, he is all in. It takes Zera a while longer to get there- but she loves him in her own selfless way. We've been waiting for this love story to come to fruition for two books and it is here and heartwarming, and worthy of all your "awws." There is so much trust here- it's so nice and not complicated in that regard!

Malachite and Fione are the best friends and side characters you can only hope and dream of in every book you read. Witty, funny, but not always just nice. They sacrifice and know sacrifices need to be made. They are the best friends who will support you but not stop you. They won't put "friendship" and "loyalty" over the fate of the world and humankind. And that's something incredibly realistic. There have to be limits, always.

If you missed Evlorasin, fear not he'll be back in book 3, along with all the other Valkerax under Varia's orders. Varia's intents are good, but can she truly bring the Tree of Bone to heal when she can no longer different what thoughts are her own? Is it the thoughts of a girl she loves? Or is it the single minded desire to DESTROY. DESTROY. DESTROY.

Speaking of the bone tree- it sort of takes on its own characterization. It thinks it, feels, it speaks, and it has desires it desperately wants to accomplish. Interesting, no?

One star off for what I call a lazy ending. The author leaves us with an epilogue that answers no questions- but gives us just enough contentment that we all stop crying. Honestly though, I was pretty upset with the lack of very important answers. It felt very deus ex machina, ending it like that. Just for starters [SPOILERS]
-How did Zera survive the Tree of Souls finale? I'm sorry but "I remembered that you love me" is not an answer.
-Did she have her blue engagement ring on? Why was the rest of her jewelry in the rubble?
-Why did it take 3 years for her to come back to Lucien/what was she doing? Was it part of the whole "you're never really gone" thing?
-What happened to Evlorasin?
-Who was the sperm donor for Fione and Varia's baby/ or was magic used- Lucien mentions that Fione carried the Pregnancy but Varia created the baby.
-What happened to the rest of the Valkerax? (sorry, no one knows is not a great answer)
- What do the beneathers do now that their purpose of fighting the valkerax is no more?

[END SPOILERS]

There are enough big questions unanswered that I'm taking a whole star off. Some of these questions have been driving factors for the journey, the war, everything and they just up never get fully addressed.

So, enough rambling. It was a solid trilogy that leads me to solidly feeling empty with out it. I'll miss Zera, Lucien, and the rest of the crew. The humor, the love, the sacrifice, all of it. Definitely a series I can see myself re-reading in the future.

Send Me Their Souls was a wonderful finale to one of my favorite underrated series. Varia now possesses the power of the Bone Tree, and is now poised to destroy the entire world with her army of valkarex. Zera, now free of her influence, teams up with Mal, Fione, and her love Lucien to try and stop her and save the girl that they all love. What comes is a race to get the answer to their questions and to evade Varia, who is hot on their heels. But Zera soon comes to realize that the answers she and her friends seeks may come at a terrible cost, but Zera now knows that love often requires sacrifice, and she must decide whether saving her world and the people she considers family, or to let everything burn down instead.
I adore this series, and that is mostly because of its characters. Zera is so fiesty and hilarious, she always has me laughing and fully invested in her journey. What Wolf does with Zera's character development from the beginning of this series to its conclusion is nothing short of spectacular. Zera starts out as someone with no autonomy and no real self-esteem, but by the end she is a confident young woman who knows she is worthy of love and is capable of loving in return. I love seeing more of the romance between Zera and Lucien and how even the new Heartless bond they have and how they still managed to respect and support each other without turning to darker impulses. The banter between Zera, Luc, Malachite and Fione had me thoroughly amused the entire time. Wolf''s writing is a wonderful combination of wit and heart. So while I am sad to say goodbye to this series, Send Me Their Souls left me satisfied at its conclusion. Send Me Their Souls show us that true love is one that is willing to go above and beyond for the object of its affections, even if it means great personal sacrifice, and can only come from first love for yourself.

I really enjoyed the conclusion of this series! There was plenty of action and the banter amongst the characters is one of my favorite parts. Of course, the romancy bits are always great too!

If you loved the first 2 books, definitely pick this one up - I can't wait to see what Sara Wolf writes next.

A perfect end to such a great series! I loved seeing the growth and development of each character and their relationships with each other. I loved the continued world building and would love to see the author explore this world with other stories (especially that of a certain beneather).

I felt like this series should've stopped after the first book. It had such a great twist, and the writing was amazing. Two books later and I'm just glad that it's over.

I was really looking forward for this books. Had a lot of expectations, but I finished kinda disappointed.

I love all characters, but they started to sound a bit off (?) along the book. The banter betwee Zera and Mal was funny at the beginning. Zera and Lucien were very cute, but their endless love declarations got me bored. Above all, their obsession in saving Varia sounded like they were trying to convince themselves that she was worth saving.

With all this and the looooooooooooong descriptions, an abrupt ending and that epilogue leaving a lot of questions about Zera's survival made this book not a good conclusion for me. It hurts me saying that because I really loved this series.

Sara Wolf took my advice! Thank got I got the ending I wanted. There were 2 books of them pining for each other and not even HUGGING. I couldn’t stand the anticipation! But thankfully she came though and I got that wonderful conclusion.

Ok so those of you who know me know I absolutely loved Bring Me Their Hearts and Find Me Their Bones. That being while I enjoyed the final book in these series… I would be lying if I said it wasn’t a bit of a let down?

The first 50% of this book: GOLDEN. Loved it. love. But than the whole thing just got a bit slow and repetitive and I was like where is the ACTION? Where is the SPICE?

I mean the only thing that got me pushing through this was the golden savior of this book: who was Zera herself. Seriously one of my favorite MC of all time. I loved her and will miss her sass and snarkiness like crazy. That being said the romance was bit of let down for me in this book??! Like I loved my boy Lucien in book one and book 2 and while I still loved him in book 3 I just wanted more from him and Zera’s relationship???

The ending also left me HANGING like what?? That was it? Your going to leave me there with no explanation to the EVENTS that have just OCCURRED?? excuse me if I was left baffled in a corner with no precious closure!!

Overall I just think the plot arc could have used a bit of work but this series is still a GEM and I loved the characters and the whole idea of heartless creatures so so much. If your a lover of this series than I definitely recommend picking up the final book and if you do read it please let me know because I need to discuss the absolute question mark that was that ending!!

Also if you love character driven books than this one is for you 😉

In all a solid 3.5 star read!

Send Me Their Souls by Sara Wolf
Zera is with Lucien, Fione and Malachite as they try to figure out how to stop Lucien’s sister’s rampage. She’s focused on destroying everything and everyone in the kingdom. The group travels and learns more about the Bone Tree and learns of the Glass Tree and its intensity and oddity. They begin to understand that the Bone Tree is taking over Varia’s mind and overpowering her judgment, causing her to seek and destroy. The group researches for solutions to stop the destruction while hoping to protect Varia at the same time. The dynamics of the characters and the loyalty make me laugh and warm my heart. Sara Wolf has a knack for endearing characters. The ending of an adventurous fantasy trilogy, 4 stars!

Send Me Their Souls kicks right off where Find Me Their Bones ends.
Zera has successfully helped Varia complete her mission and she’s reunited with the friends she’s made in Bring Me Their Hearts, the exact friends who feel she had betrayed them. She finally gets the chance to choose whether she gets her heart back and live happily ever after, and after years of suffering, it seems an easy choice. At the same time, she knows full well her decision could affect everything that happens after, and she ultimately decides maybe she’ll put off getting her heart back. Humanity can wait.

Which… kind of defeats the entire purpose of the first two books, because her goals in them were to get her heart back and be human again. So why the fuck would she not jump at the chance when she gets it?
In the third and final book of Sara Wolf’s Bring Me Their Hearts trilogy, Zera has undergone major character growth. She’s still full of sass, never shuts up and always takes everything lightly. But she’s also gone through a lot and her tune changes from “I want my heart so I can be human again” to “I want my heart so I can be human again, but I don’t want others to go through what I have.”

There is less belittling and struggling with herself in Send Me Their Souls as she becomes more accepting of her Heartlessness and begins recognizing she has strengths that can help her accomplish what the others can’t. And ultimately, she utilizes them to protect her friends as much as they protect her in their own ways. We finally find out the purpose of the voice that’s been with her since Bring Me Their Hearts and it is far less overwhelming and distracting than in the second book.

Pretty much everything we saw less of in the second book occurs more in the third.
Lucien, Malachite (bless his heart I love him so much) and Fione (truly a badass archduchess who’s speaking prowess is far superior to mine) all make plenty of page time as they journey with Zera to try and stop Varia. I absolutely loved seeing them together again with their constant banter and jabs. And bonus: there’s romance development between Zera and Lucien because goddamnit they’re finally together more often.

In addition, we get to see more of the crew’s friendship develop as they work toward the same goal, and we get the chance to see many of the characters who played a major role in the first or second book but are not part of the main cast. Honestly, I’m going to miss reading more about all of them, and I’m saddened that I have to leave them behind.

Send Me Their Souls ends with loose ends and more questions.
Sometimes the pacing in Send Me Their Souls felt a little slow as it is very much a journey book where they try to find as much information as possible to find a solution. It isn’t something I noticed too much, though, or I didn’t mind due to my reading preferences being heavily focused on character development. For me, the characters and the writing style played a huge role, and I personally enjoyed this one more than the second.

Send Me Their Souls, however, does leave questions hanging with the ending. A lot of the bigger, important questions that developed from the first two books have been answered, but then there are more questions I feel could have been answered with a more extended epilogue. Instead, it kind of just left things a little… not so satisfactory?

*Thank you to Entangled Teen and Netgalley for my e-arc in exchange for a honest review.*

So this series started out so strong for me, I really enjoyed the overall story. And I really liked Zera! Bring Me Their Hearts was my favorite and kept me on my toes.

Send Me Their Souls was good and I enjoyed the humor, but it was lacking just a bit for me at the end the epilogue to be more specific. It just left me with some questions l’d like answered about Zera.

I really liked getting to see more of the world and understanding the significance of the trees and they fact they can be used for ones own will.

Overall this was a solid series and I enjoy the strong female MC. It’s a unique magic system and well written world building!

It started out well and she ties up all the loose ends here, but there is a fraying at the edges of this built world. For instance, she uses many colloquial expressions that seem at odds with the fantasy world she has built. Or references are made to modern concepts and expressions that seem not to belong. It is unfortunate because I found appeal in her being the monster of the story but struggling to maintain her humanity. She is a plucky and strong character that I enjoyed reading about throughout the series. I also found her loyalty to her friends and her interactions with them enjoyable to read. It is not a stand alone book.

WARNING: Spoilers for books 1 and 2! Sara Wolf wraps the series up with a bang. SEND ME THEIR SOULS is a rollercoaster ride of emotion, from tears and laughter to angst, heartbreak, and redemption. The third installment in the Bring Me Their Hearts series has everything I was hoping for and more. Picking up where book two ends, the author brings us right back into that world, reminding us of anything we might have forgotten over the past year since it was released. Zera, Fione, Malachite, and Lucien manage to escape with their lives after Varia brings the Bone Tree to life, unleashing a swarm of flying valkerax. The easy thing to do would be to kill Varia to save the world, but Fione’s love of her as well as Lucien’s means the only solution is to destroy the Bone Tree. And as with any good story, that is always easier said than done.

The group launches on a quest for answers, putting them in danger, testing loyalties, and breaking Zera’s unheart over and over as first she is reunited with loved ones, then Varia’s rage of terror wipes out one civilization after another. But this time Zera has the trust of Fione, Malachite and Lucien, making the treacherous trail they must all follow both easier and much more difficult, because when you love other people, you have so much more to lose.

Plot
As with the other two books, the pacing is perfect, moving from one exciting moment to another, with enough room to catch our breath and witness romantic moments between Zera and Lucien. Finally, finally they are together, in love, the way they should be. But with a twist I won’t reveal. Fighting together as a team this time, the group works to defeat a nebulous enemy and save Lucien’s sister and Fione’s love. We get inside Varia’s head through a weird connection between Zera and Varia that only happens in Zera’s dreams. But it’s enough to show us that love is a two-way street and her passion to Fione is maybe the only thing keeping her sane as the Bone Tree gets a further hold on her mind.

Characters
The characters continue to grow and develop throughout this finale, including Zera. Even though she’s frozen in time, she manages to mature along with her friends. The depth of character the author manages to capture on the page, brings these people and creatures to life in three-dimensional ways that have endeared them to me for long beyond finishing the series.

What I Loved About SEND ME THEIR SOULS
1. Zera. She’s as snarky as ever, but even without a heart, she’s grown warmer and more loving to those she cares for.

2. Young Love. The romance is on steady ground in this final installment and the sweet moments between Zera and Lucien zing.

3. Fione. She has much to be concerned about with the love of her life being the enemy now, but she uses that quiet determination of hers we’ve come to know in the first two books to keep on keeping on.

4. World Building. From a steampunk inspired zeppelin to a floating island in the sky, the author’s imagination knows no bounds as she creates stunning settings to drop her characters into.

5. Magic. With the prince now a witch, magic is on display in nearly every chapter and it’s as double-sided as everything else. Everything has a price, including using magic.

Bottom Line
The perfect way to wrap up a trilogy — satisfying on every level, but leaving me sad to say goodbye to characters I’ve grown to love.

Bring Me Their Hearts is one of those stories that buried itself in my heart. It’s one of those stories that you know has to end, but you don’t want it to. So it was a bit bittersweet to read the finale of this beautiful trilogy. I was saying goodbye to these characters I’ve come to love and root for, which is why it was so sad. But the ending was everything I could have asked for. Sara wraps up this series in a meaningful and extraordinary way that brought peace to my heart and left me smiling. It was an ending that was absolutely perfect for this trilogy and the characters.

Zera is by far the sassiest character I’ve ever come across and she alone steals the show. Her character growth is exceptional over the course of the three books. Her journey and her relationship with her friends are exactly what I was living for, especially for her scenes with Lucien (I was bursting with joy every time). She’s one of those characters you can’t help but love and root for, even if she does have some selfish tendencies (who doesn’t?). Zera is fierce and brave and witty and easily captivates any reader’s attention. Zera is definitely a character you will have a hard time forgetting. Her story is one you will have a hard time forgetting. She’s also wickedly smart and filled with sarcastic humor (her banter with her friends is the best). And yet, she’s honest and opens up more in this book than she did in the first two. She bears her soul to those she loves and puts her full trust in them. Zera starts to realize that she is capable and deserving of love, and she understands that through her friends who accept her and her self-acceptance.

But, yet, every journey must come to an end. Zera is smart enough to know that with every adventure, with every journey, comes great courage and sacrifice. But she’s not quite prepared for the sacrifices in her journey that she will have to make. And how Sara portrays all of that – all the emotions, the hiccups, the battles – it’s absolutely brilliant. The emotions in this book seem to pour right off the pages, and that’s all thanks to Sara’s gift in storytelling.

Sara’s writing, as expected, is impeccable. She delivers a story with heart and soul, and as the reader, I could see just how much Sara loves this story and the characters. Her writing draws you in and makes you feel as if you are right there, fighting along Zera and Lucien and their friends. Sara crafts a beautiful world that bears witness to the harshness of any fantasy world but also the beauty hidden within. It’s a world that showcases scars and epic battles, but also love and acceptance. And that’s all present throughout all three books, but more prominent in Send Me Their Souls. When I say this book had everything, I mean it: Send Me Their Souls is really brimming with all that emotion and captivating storytelling. It is, without a doubt, a series with an epic ending and an unforgettable story.

This trilogy will forever be one of my favorites. It’s got every element I love: exceptional characters, sizzling romance, extraordinary world building, and a gripping storyline. If you are looking for a new fantasy series, definitely check out Bring Me Their Hearts!

*4.5 Stars**

Zera's complete life (un-life?) is in shambles, the choice to follow her current witch master versus her need to be with Prince Lucien and his newly discovered magic battles in her. Who does she choose to protect and will her choice cost those she loves their lives? Zera is about to enter the ultimate battle for her own freedom as well as everyone in the kingdom's freedom- and not everyone will survive what is to come.

I strongly recommend for you all to race out (or go online to your favorite online bookstore) and snag a copy of each book in the trilogy asap. Once you start it will be very hard to put it down and you will really, really want to know how everything plays out. That being said, this review will be super short so not to spoil what has been 3 incredibly epic books in making to get to this conclusion. I feel like I have been waiting forever for this conclusion, while at the same time I had been dreading reading this because I was so nervous that my people where not going to get the HEAs I so hoped for them- and I selfishly I didn't know if I was ready to say goodbye.

"I've barely worked a day in my life."
"You've worked quite a lot! With your brain."
"Brains are not hands."
"They're basically the same thing."
"If they were, perhaps we'd have an easier time holding on to our thoughts." She pauses, her grin miniscule. "This conversation is complete nonsense. You're rubbing off on me."
I grin back. "Unfortunately."

I highly recommend this series (and basically anything by this author but for other reasons) if you are a fan of fantasy worlds, heart wrenching choices, a heroine who never stops with the snark and the random string-of-consciousness commentary that fills me with joy, a prince with a heart of gold, zombie like creatures, witches and deadly magic, end of the world battles and a romance that is so sweet it can melt the coldest heart (or the heartless). I am so glad that I got to experience this series and I will gladly push it on everyone I know with complete abandon.

4.5 stars — Honestly? The whole story went in a few directions I was NOT expecting. I can’t explain, but the plot laid out differently than I was expecting in so many ways. Sometimes that meant there were lulls in action…but in those lulls we got to learn more: either about the world, the magic, or our characters. So it’s kind of hard to be disappointed in that, you know?

And the absolute ending satisfied both of my opposing needs, which is kind of hard to do, and yet Ms. Wolf accomplished it. I know, vague, but you’ll survive.

In general I was immensely happy with how Zera grew in this book. It was coming to a point of no return for me, but she made leaps and leaps. I loved the things she learned about herself, about the world, about love, about people. She really made me think at times.

And she’s a freaking shining star in this book. Her ability to befriend people, to care about people, to have them look outside themselves…it’s just kind of hopeful and awesome. She sees so many things that others don’t, and she inevitably makes everyone around her better people as well.

Also, she’s freaking HILARIOUS. And not just her, the whole group of them. It’s the way she brings out the sass in everyone around her as well. The bantering, the bickering, the just plain fun they had at times was delightful. It completely caught me off guard at times, because I expected a lot of anxiousness and worry and angst (and we got that too). It was such a relief to have that balance.

I’m going to miss this world. But mostly I’m going to miss these characters. They were so weird, but lovable and awesome.

This finale to the Bring Me Their Hearts series was exactly what I needed. This story had action, danger, heartache and laughs.

In this book there is more time spent with the characters who Zera met along the way in the previous two books and now feel like her found family. The group find themselves facing Vera and more Valkerax than they could have imagined. Having the entire group together created and entertaining and fun dynamic. Like the other novels, this book is filled with Zera’s typical wit and sarcasm but it feels like her character has grown and matured in many ways. I love her story arc and the way she learns to rely on those around her more. Much of her growth could be attributed to her friendships but particularly with her complicated relationship with Lucien. I adore these two characters together. They seem to be opposites in many ways but when it comes to making sacrifices for those they care about they fit perfectly together.

As for the plot, there were some parts at the beginning that felt a little slow compared to the previous two books but by the end I found myself compulsively reading and not able to put it down. I love how the author can pull me to edge of my seat one moment and chuckling the next. I thought this was a great conclusion to the trilogy. The end did leave me with some questions I wish could have been answered. I would love a novella or something to fill in a few of those gaps but I was still happy with this conclusion overall and truly loved this series..
