When you fall in love, you can fall deeply. Sor some it can feel like they fall into a bottomless pit filled with that warm feeling and they cannot imagine ever being without their one. When that other person reveals they feel the same, you are over the moon and when you confess to each other you are obsessed with each other, you know that bond between you cannot ever be broken and you are in for the long term.
An obsession can be a good thing, but what if, for one party, it has a different meaning as ell and it drives them to despicable things?
In this book deceit and manipulation are the go to in order to get what you want, but all the blame seems to point in one direction. Is that person really responsible for everything or is there more to it than the eye can see?
After all some people are really good in what they do...
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I could not have guessed where it all lead to in the end. 5 stars
Thank you
Natalie Barelli is know for her psychological thrillers, and even though this book is thrilling, is more of a mystery read. It was well entertaining and I couldn't wait to see what the big secret was. Recommended.
I enjoyed this one. The twist at the end was good and the story flowed well. I will definitely be recommending this one and I will be checking out more from this author.
This was a powerful thriller full of twists and surprises, I did see a couple of them coming but not the main ones. The characterisation was on point here and the plot was very well written
A serious thriller that sucks you in a page a time until you are definitely not going to put it down to go to sleep. As you meet the main character....and what a character.....her life seems perfect. Then one by one, the perfect illusion crumbles and you meet the real woman, and she's much more fun. Each time something goes wrong, you just know she's going to reach out and cause havoc. But the surprises and twists are subtle, you'll not see all of them in time to figure out the end. A great read.
A good read. Enjoyed the twists towards the end. i thought I had it sussed and along comes not one but two twists.
An enjoyable read with lots of twists and turns which keep you guessing right to the end with an ending that I didn’t see coming!
WoW Unfaithful by Natalie Barelli was a brilliant psychological thriller! and its the first book i have read by this author which was a bonus for me. It was packed with brilliant twists and turns that just had me gripped from the beginning till the end and will not be the last book I read from this author.
I highly recommend this book
Big Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC

Plenty of twists
Will keep you guessing till the end
Will definitely read more from this author
Thanks NetGalley
Whoa! Didn’t see that coming! At first, it took me awhile to get into this book. But once I did, I couldn’t put it down! Go into this book knowing as little as possible because what I thought throughout the whole book, was such a twist on what ended up being true. I read a lot so I thought I had pegged the plot on this one but the author pulled the rug out from under me and I LOVED that! Great story, excellent twists and some very disturbing/creepy actions. Looking forward to more from this author!
plenty of parts bordering on the farcical but still a really enjoyable read. Skillful writing and very tense with plenty happening throughout. Nicely tied up at the finish also.
Overall a really good book. I was hooked from start to finish and enjoyed reading it. I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars.
I really enjoyed this book - apologies for the late review. The book had lots of twists and very surprised by the ending. Hope to read more by Natalie Barelli.
This book was so good. It had me hooked from the start. Many a night not wanting to put it down. It had me turning page after page to find out what was going on. I really connected with Annas character
I liked this story! I did think it could be a little bit more on the edge but still really good! ❤📖 Thank you Net Galley for letting me read this for my honest review.
This book was fun, hooked me hard, and even though I tried to go to bed, I ended up staying up way too late to finish it
This kept me on the edge of my seat, guessing all the way. Just when I was sure of what was happening, I would realize I wasn't quite so sure. The only thing I didn't love about it is who the "who-dunnit" turned out to be as it seemed quite out of character. But then again...they all say, he was such a nice guy, I would have never expected it after the fact, don't they?
Great read! Looking forward to reading more by this author! I highly recommend this book and author to all!
4.5 stars
[book:Unfaithful|55443453] by [author:Natalie Barelli|15369850] is a captivating thriller filled with twists and turns that I never saw coming. My issue with most thrillers is that the plot is often predictable, but with this book, I was completely blindsided. I loved it.
We have Anna, our main character, an associate professor of Mathematics, who discovers that her husband is cheating on her. Unlike what most others would do in this case (i.e., confront the SO about their infidelities, and either get a divorce or instead work on the marriage), she decides to take care of matters herself. Because the most important thing is that she protects her family, without ever losing the illusion of perfection they maintain. They're the quintessential couple, with the perfect kids. Everything about them screams flawlessness. Because that's the most important thing, right?
Then there's also the fact that her PhD student is dead, and that the police are asking questions -- a closer look would reveal that she's more than just involved with his life. What other secrets will get unearthed by their investigation?
Cleverly sprinkled with misleading clues, Natalie Barelli takes the reader on an entirely deceptive ride, with Anna drinking way too much to be a reliable narrator. In spirit of full disclosure, I will mention here that at one point, Anna's actions gave me severe anxiety and pushed me to the verge of a panic attack. The writing was that good. I was completely consumed by the book.
Even when I took a break from reading, my mind would come back to this book, and I'd wonder what would happen to Anna.
Honestly, there were times when I wanted to call out to Anna, tell her she was making a mistake and that she should go about this a different way; I was thoroughly involved with the book, and I hardly recognised anything going on around me.
The pace was swift and the language wasn't unnecessarily filled with prose. It had the perfect balance between dialogues, descriptions and actions, and I enjoyed the book a lot.
If you're a fan of Hannah Mary McKinnon, Liz Nugent, or Shalini Boland, I strongly recommend that you read this book.
Natalie Barelli is now on my "thriller" radar, and I can't wait to read more of her work!
(This eARC was provided to me by BookOuture. I know I'm a zillion years late with this review, sorry. Thank you for giving me a chance to read this enthralling story.)
Anna and Luis have a great life .. wonderful children, Luis is a successful artist, Anna is a professor of mathematics.
One of Anna's best students has died and she is beside herself with grief. Needing her husband, she visits his studio without warning. To her shock, there are signs that Luis is having an affair.
Instead of confronting him, she continues as though nothing is wrong. She needs the marriage to work to protect a secret of her own, something that could destroy everything she's already sacrificed so much for. (Book Blurb)
When police start investigating her student's death, they have questions that she cannot .. dare not ... answer. And when someone starts sending her threatening text messages, she learns that someone has been watching her .... and knows her secret. There are three people in her marriage ... and one of them is deadly.
This is a riveting story of how far a woman will go to protect her family .. herself. Everyone has a different story .. so who's lying? It's a well written tale with surprises along the way. Suspenseful from the very first page to the surprising, unexpected ending.
