I am a Natalie Barelli huge fan, ao when I won an ARC of this novel kn NetGalley I was so excited!

And the book did not disappoint. It's a clever mystery that will keep readers at rhe edge of their seats the entire novel. Every time I thought I had it all solved… a new element was added or a twist came. And those are not twists made solely for the sake of fooling the reader, nope! It all makes sense and is beautifully explained.

I'd like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, Bookouture, and the author Natalie Barelli, for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review.

Drama, twists, turns, thriller, and this had me guessing until the very end. We have a story of a professor who finds out her husband is having an affair, and a lot of different things start spiraling downwards in her life all at one time. The stress comes through the pages, and the book caused me to feel all of that stress while reading.

I truly couldn't put this one down, and while the ending wasn't my favorite, I truly enjoyed the story and the author's writing style.

Wow, every time I thought I had the story figured out I realized I didn't! A gripping tale of infidelity, jealousy, murder and a little bit of love! Had me reading late into the night to finish it.

Oooh this was naughty!! I wasn’t expecting it to be as gripping as it was!! It had me on the edge of my seat from the first page!! Anna is a college professor who witnesses (or does she) a student jump from his window to his death! From this everything seems to be stacked against her - she misses out on promotion, her boss keeps hitting.on her, her husband is or isn’t cheating on her!
I really couldn’t pin all this on anyone - so decided to pin it on everyone (I suspected the Uber driver at one point)
There was some real twists and turns which made it feel really original! Feel a bit blue now I have finished it!!

Thanks to NetGalley and to the publisher for the ARC, which I received in exchange for my honest review. Unfaithful is a compelling and dark psychological thriller with an unexpected ending. I read many books in this genre and it is the rare book that is able to deliver a true surprise. No worries in that regard here. Just when I was convinced that I knew exactly what was going on, the author throws such a curveball that I actually backtracked and reread a few chapters to take it all in.

Dr. Anne Sanchez is a college math professor who is taken aback when a post doc student with whom she was closely working on a breakthrough math solution ends up dead. Did the student commit suicide or did Dr. Sanchez have something to do with his death? As if this wasn't enough, Dr. Sanchez is dealing with a potentially unfaithful husband and unwanted sexual advances from her boss.

As the body count rises, readers are left to wonder if the good doctor is a psychopath or if there is someone else whose obsession has led them down a path way past the point of redemption. I don't want to spoil the surprise ending so I won't say anymore about the plot, but if you enjoy dark and twisty thrillers with a shocking conclusion, check this book out!

5 stars!

A new author for me and I thought I wasn't going to enjoy this book but I soon got involved in the story line. For me it wasn't an edge of seat thriller but there were plenty of twists and turns along the way.

The characters were all well developed although I wasn't particularly keen on them but overall it was a good book to read.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read this advanced copy.

Amazing twists and turns. This book has all the qualities I enjoy in a psychological thriller: suspicions abound for practically every character, great plot and a fitting conclusion. This book can and should be made into a movie…it was that good. It had me guessing until the very end this is why I loved it. Also the main protagonist was not a wallflower sometimes I absolutely hated her and sometimes I was rooting for her. An absolutely great thriller reminiscent of The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl.

I am a big fan of Natalie Barelli books, the lady sure can write a twisty psychological thriller! Unfaithful is a fantastic page turner full of unlikeable characters. It was a fun read that will take you on a crazypy ride.

Anna is a well respected math lecturer with the seemingly perfect family. She has a talented artist for a husband who is on the brink of his big break and 2 adorable kids. But all of that is about to come crashing down. Her life is falling apart bit by bit.. first she suspects her husband of cheating and then there’s is the death of one of her students. And that I said just the start. A string of events turns her perfect world upside down very quickly.

This is a thrilling ride and I loved it.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book to read.

Ok first off, I have read two other books by this author. I finished the Loyal Wife last week! I have since purchased all of her books! This book is similar to the others I have read in regards to her making the main character a completely unlikeable narrator. Her characters typically have personalities with little redeeming qualities. The twists in this book are completely unexpected. I think more suspense than thriller. A great, quick, mess with your mind read. Perfect for book club. A few weeks ago Jen Rogue (author) featured my favorite of Natalie Barelli’s books for her book club... they make great book club reads! She’s on my must read list and should be on yours as well!

Dependable, team player Associate Maths Professor Anna has a good life, she’s happily married to Luis and has two lovely children. One night she gets a call from her PHD student Alex which leads to her comfortable life imploding. Secrets and lies pile on top of each other until she doesn’t know which way is up, so there’s more cover up lies but someone is adding accelerant and torching her life .... ooohhh the intrigue!

This is really good! Anna should be a reliable narrator but she’s not, which is not entirely her fault as she’s being masterfully played which adds to the ‘entertainment’! I like the way this is written, the style is lively and engaging right from the start, with a soupçon of dark humour. It’s fast paced, sometimes so speedy my brain has trouble keeping up with the plot twists, which are really clever. It’s gripping, easy to read and though I wouldn’t do what Anna does (no, I really wouldn’t!!) some of it is really understandable and at times you want to egg her on! Yes, it’s gloriously over the top in places but strap yourself in and just go with the pacy flow.

Overall, this is a good read, full of suspense and changes in direction that keeps you on your toes. I can’t wait to read more from Natalie Barelli.

With thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the arc for an honest review.

Highly recommend this book.

Anna is a math lecturer, lives happily with her husband Luis, and her two young children. She has a perfect life which is about to be taken away from her. When she goes to Luis’s studio to surprise him, she finds his studio empty, and evidence suggests him being unfaithful.

Anna was at the house of her protegee Alex, when he had jumped through the window and died tragically. Was it suicide or Anna has hand in it? Anna soon receives threatening messages, stalked by someone, harassed at work. The promotion she was vying for has been usurped by a colleague.

This engrossed me, made me furiously flip pages to find out if my suspicions were true or not. I am happy to say I was blindsided by the reveal. Bravo Barelli! She created a plot with innumerable twists, which were hard to guess. She has created truly dark characters, makes the reader switch their loyalties as the story progresses swiftly.

I love how Barelli has cleverly crafted character driven narrative, filled each page with palpable tension. I couldn’t believe how the main character was played like a puppet where strings were pulled by many puppeteers.

My niggles are, one reveal was little unconvincing to me and I am ambivalent about the culprit as the motives weren’t strong enough. Other than these, this is a compelling, fast paced suspense thriller with plenty of twists that keeps the reader at the edge of the seat.

Thank you Bookouture for giving me an opportunity to read this unputdownable book.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and it won't be the last. The story involves a woman who is a teacher and her husband who is an artist. She suspects her husband is having an affair, and this causes her to get herself into all kinds of trouble. The mystery in this book will keep you interested until the end.

Expected release date 27th Nov
Thanks #NetGalley, my favorite publisher #Bookouture and #NatalieBareli for an ARC to review.
Second book I read for Natalie, the first was The Accident, I definetly liked Unfaithful more.
A fast paced quick page turner, so full of unexpected twists.
Professor Anna Sanchez's life is picture perfect, with respectful job, handsome loving husband and two ideal kids. I am not sure we should like Anna, her character is written in a way you would feel annoyed with her most of the time. That picture picture life though starts falling apart regarding every possible aspect suddenly leaving Anna desperate and not the best in deciding wisely her next move.
Really, go read it but beware there is lots of math stuff there :)
Totally loved it.

Dr. Anna Sanchez is a wife, a mother, a teacher, a homemaker and a thesis advisor. She always volunteers her time: committees, student support, fundraising, grant applications, and acquittals. She works, she pays the bills, and she supports her husband as an artist. Lately, she’s not feeling like she’s enough. She’s not feeling ambitious and the paranoia has set in.
Having been raised by ambitious scientists Anna develops a complex about her abilities. From a young age her mother makes Anna solve the The Pentti-Stone conjecture. It’s a famous problem, unsolved, first proposed in 1905 by mother and daughter mathematicians Claudia Pentti and Noemi Stone. For years Anna worked on this project. Later in life she becomes a mathematics professor where Alex insists she become his thesis advisor for The Pentti-Stone conjecture.

Overall:
She lost me at the Pentti-Stone conjecture. Every time I read these scenes I skimmed through them. So much time was devoted to these scenes and I kept wondering what’s the relevance?
I felt like the storyline was all over the place. One minute it’s all about Alex. Then it’s the gallery and her husband. Now it’s about this conjecture. Finally, Geoff and Ryan have a say. It’s all crowded together. I’m not sure what’s relevant. I’m losing focus.
This book seemed so promising with its gorgeous eye dropping cover design, great title, and a promising premise. Where did it go wrong you ask? Too many plot lines and some over-the-top characters.
When it’s all said and done I’m left wondering what I missed. How did the story go from one police situation to the next? The twist was great and extremely clever. I didn’t see that one coming by a long shot. However, the execution of this story was one huge distraction. There was few connecting points. It was like the entire premise was to throw the reader off course so the author could shock her readers in the end. Which I admit I was amazed by the ending, but I would’ve preferred a better beginning and middle.

Unfaithful was a dark, twisty read - just the way I like it! It's smart and complicated, full of red herrings and plot twists. Natalie Barelli does not disappoint!! Three words...READ THIS BOOK!!

I loved this book. A semi- unreliable protagonist, an affair, tumult at every turn. Really solid plot, twists and turns, good writing. Not your typical infidelity type book, the author has constructed an unputdownable story. Highly recommend. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy.

This is the first book I have read by this author, but will definitely be looking for more. The first thing that drew me to this book was the front cover! It’s stunning – so simple yet really effective! This book revolves around Anna Sanchez who is a maths professor, and married to Luis. When a maths student, who she is working with on a maths solution which has never been solved, commits suicide right in front of her Anna is devastated. Her student is dead, and everything she’s worked towards is in tatters. When she then accidently discovers her husband is having an affair, her world begins to fall down around her.

I won’t say too much about the storyline for fear of spoilers, but this is one twisted story, which has more shocks and surprises that I could ever have imagined! You initially side with Anna – a student is dead, her husband’s having an affair and her job is on the line – why wouldn’t you feel for her? But, as the story moves on, you begin to realise that not everything is as clear cut as you think it is, and perhaps you need to be looking at the whole story in a different way! I loved Anna’s character, but I have to admit, in a weird kind of way, I really enjoyed watching Anna’s life spiral out of control! The book did begin slowly, but the pace really does pick up very quickly into the storyline. It’s quite a complex story and you do need to concentrate to keep up with it at times, but it’s definitely worth that little bit of extra effort!!

The plot thickens as the story moves on, and you can’t in any way begin to guess where it’s going! It’s definitely a book of secrets, lies and mistrust, and whilst I knew someone was lying, I just couldn’t work out who it was! Completely different to anything I’ve read in a long time, this book will keep you turning those pages late into the night! Whilst not all likeable, the characters all played their perfect part and the author kept the twists and turns coming right through to the very last page. Thrilling and exciting, this book will keep your adrenaline pumping! Would recommend!
