LOVE IN A SMALL TOWN by Zoe York is a re-release of Book 1 in her Pine Harbour series. Liv and Rafe have been divorced for two years but can't seem to get over each other. It doesn't help that in the small town where they live, it's almost impossible to avoid one another. Can they overcome their past mistakes to find their way back to each other?

This story of love and redemption is not a light read, but it's heartfelt and emotional. If you like small-town and second-chance romance, you might want to give it a try.

I received an ARC from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

I became familiar with this author through other books I have really enjoyed written under her other pen name. Here, I found the same quality of writing and well formed characters with a more emotional take. Both styles are good, depending on your mood.

This was such a lovely, light hearted read that I loved.

The love story between Olivia and Rafe was beautiful, despite the fact that they are divorced, it is abundantly clear that they are still madly in love. Both characters were so authentic and realistic, you want them to find their happy endings.
The author does such a fantastic job at bringing this story to life and really adds so much emotion and drama to the story, you can't help but find yourself well and truly immersed in their lives.

A gorgeous, heart warming book that I adored.

I adored the love story between Rafe and Olivia. I found both characters to be relatable and engaging and as a couple one I really rooted for.

I thought Zoe York did a great job making these characters feel real and authentic and likeable with flaws and all. Rafe and Olivia are a divorced couple, who let's face it, never truly got over one another. The pain between the two ricochets off the pages. Something keeps pulling them back to one another, despite them having made the decision to terminate their marriage.

I loved watching Rafe's growth as he realized that he could still excel at his job as a law enforcement officer while making Olivia a priority at the same time. I appreciate stories that show real struggles couples go through and the growth that can occur if one puts their mind to it.

I would definitely read more from York in the future.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me an ARC of "Love in a Small Town" by Zoe York in exchange for an honest review.

A divorced couple keep gravitating toward each other, unwilling to move on from the love they knew was real, but cannot have their HEA without realizing what they really want out of life. Emotional and sexy, this is a great relaunch of Zoe York's classic Pine Harbour series.

I adored all the feelings this story gave me, and I love a good second chance romance, but I do wish Rafe had groveled even more. The full cast of characters makes me excited to read more books in this series!

Olivia is so not over her ex husband Rafe and he is too. Olivia is struggling financially and is too proud to asked for help. Given her current situation, leaving town to a new place to try her luck may seem to be the only way out for her. But why can’t she? Rafe tried to forget his ex wife but why he can’t bear to be with another women? And when the news that Olivia might be leaving for good, he is not happy at all.
I love storyline like this. Both are still holding on but is not doing anything to save the relationship. Conflict after conflict appeared and it forces them to come to compromise and learn about each other again.

Rafe and Olivia couldn't make their marriage work the first time around yet 2 years later, neither has been able to move on. Sweet and emotional with a likeable cast of characters and realistic setting. As a Canadian, I enjoyed the Canadian setting and cultural references.

I read this book many years ago and now the author has come out with a revised edition. With added pages. To be honest I barely remembered the story when I began the book. Though I felt that it started slowly only because you are getting the background of Rafe and Oliva their marriage, how they became divorced, and some of the reasons that led up to the arguments that caused Rafe to suggest divorce in the first place. His problem was he was not expecting her to say yes. Also, neither wanted to talk about the issues. Really that was Rafe not listening to his wife.
Two things about this book. Well more really. First, being in law enforcement when I was younger, I could understand Rafe’s desire to want to serve and protect just not to the point where you are neglecting your home life. Took me a while to get it but my wife would always say if she wanted to be a single parent she would not have married. Finally, it took and I found a working mind and a home life. Rafe did not. You do get to see his love for Olivia and then his effort in changing and this leads to her seeing a change in him. Not only in his actions but also in his words. He also began writing love letters to her which was one way to show her his commitment and that he was seeing her.
A very good story and much better than I remembered.

Emotional roller-coaster that hits all the right heart strings in the best possible way. The charters in this journey are so engaging and relatable, the problems they face are so easy to empathize with. Rafe and Liv's are so easy to adore and root for their happy reunion. Excellent reading!

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I remembered reading this book a few years back and enjoyed it a second time. Since, it was a few years ago, could not tell much difference between the two versions but this did seem more in depth version of their lives.

You could just feel the pain between Rafe and Olivia when they knew they loved each other but could not work out their personal lives.

It was hard to not hate Rafe when he brought his date to the diner where Olivia works - not sure how a guy could be that stupid.

I enjoyed watching as Rafe realized that he was pretty crappy as a husband and needed to make some changes if he had any chance of getting Olivia back in his life.

Now, I am going to have to read through the series again!!

4.5 stars

This was a fantastic small town romance. The best kind of second chance love story where nothing is swept under the rug and you get to see the couple’s failures and their growth. I really enjoyed it and will be checking out the rest of the series.

I love Zoe York and I love small-town romance so of course, I'm going to love her Pine Harbor series. I will admit I've read this series once before and I was excited to see it re-released. This is a second chance romance between a divorced couple. And while it's not my favorite trope it was still an enjoyable read. Zoe gives us a story that feels real and relatable and not filled with overused drama and "romance reasons" for the couple's issues. I love that this reunion was something that both wanted and not just one pushing the other to change. I recommend this and all of Zoe's Pine Harbor books.

4.5 Stars!

Once upon a time (way back in 2014), I was introduced to the wonderful world of Kindle books, then the romance genre. Back then - before I wrote reviews - I’d finish one book and immediately start another, devouring about five a week. It was during this time of ravenous reading I discovered all the different tropes in love stories and decided that second-chance romance is one of my favorites.

I first read Love in a Small Town back in 2015. It was one of my first Zoe York books, and is probably responsible for my love of the second-chance romance. When I found out it was getting a refresh with some new chapters, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it, going so far as to message Ms. York on Instagram! I’ve been rereading a lot of my favorite books lately anyway, so reading one in my favorite trope, by one of my favorite authors, was a no-brainer!

Rafe Minelli and Olivia had a whirlwind three-month relationship before they married and moved back to Rafe’s hometown of Pine Harbour. But once there, between Rafe’s commitment to his two jobs and Olivia’s struggle to feel like she belonged, their marriage didn’t make it.

Now, two years post-divorce, neither is feeling settled back into single life, neither has been able to move on. Rafe still loves Olivia and wants her back. Olivia still loves Rafe but isn’t sure she can trust him to make her a priority. When a new job opportunity lands in Olivia’s lap, one that could take her away from Pine Harbour, Rafe knows he has to get his act together if he wants to win back the love of his life.

As per Ms. York’s usual...there’s no ridiculous angst, no crazy drama. Rafe and Olivia are a sweet, young couple who jumped into marriage too quickly with both feet but weren’t equipped to deal with the challenges of a new life situation in a new town. I could feel how much they longed for each other, and loved seeing how much they were willing to put what the other needed ahead of their own wants. Their road back to each other was filled with heart and heat and I loved it!

I liked this book sooo much! Olivia is such a great heroine. She is strong, intelligent and sensitive. Rafe is really supportive and committed to make their relationship work this time.
Rafe is a cop an is in the army part time. Olivia works as a waiter in a diner. After their divorce in small town Pine Harbour, they still see each other all the time and neither of them were able to put their lives together without the other.
After two years apart, Rafe is decided to get her back and learn to be a better husband this time. Olivia needs to find her place in Pine Harbour and discover what her dreams are.
This is a story of love and fighting for what you want, but most of all about commitment, learning from mistakes and asking for forgiveness.
They are amazing together. The chemistry is great, the dialogs deep and meaningful. But it's also funny and easy to read in a very good way.

This is a re-release of Zoe's first book with added chapters. I hadn't read it yet so when I was offered an ARC I said yes. I'm glad I did. I love second chance and small town stories. I saw this as a win-win. I've never read an husband-wife second chance story. This was a divorced couple who never really fell out of love, they just couldn't make marriage work the first time. Rafe Minelli is a full time cop and a part-time soldier/reservist who is a work-a-holic. This is complicated by an overwhelming family in a small town. Olivia Minelli is a city girl in love with this man and relocates to the sticks where she knows no one and gets married. They were doomed from the start.

We come into the story 2 years after their divorce. Olivia is working the only job she can find which is waitressing in one of the town's 2 cafes. She wants to leave town but can't make enough money to do it. Her heart is breaking with her ex-husband always coming into the cafe for breakfast every morning. When she stumbles on an opportunity of a temporary part-time job she sees her ticket out of town finally. Rafe Minelli still desperately loves his wife but can't figure out how to let her go. Neither one is dating and moving on because they still love the other but can't seem to live together.

Rafe decides he has to fight for her and make whatever changes in his life to make his marriage work and make Olivia happy. I found the first half of this story hard to read because it's everything that wasn't working in their lives. Zoe redeemed the story in the second half. Rafe did some serious soul searching realizing mistakes and what he needed to do to make Liv first in his life. Olivia also found purpose in her life through her part-time job that she was really good at. That allowed her to not focus on Rafe as her only source of comfort and companionship. This was a good lesson for all married couples. Marriage takes work.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I read Love in a Small Town by Zoe York when it was first published several years ago. Now I have read the revised edition which simply made the story even better. By the end of the book, I felt as if I had made new dear friends to whom I hated to say goodbye.

From the first page, I was drawn into Olivia and Rafe’s emotional turmoil. Ms. York helps the reader to see it from both perspectives, making it so that I was unable to take sides. Instead, I was wishing and hoping that they would find and take that second chance on love. In fact, it seemed as if everyone had an opinion on what was best for Olivia and Rafe. My heart went out to Olivia. I understood why she didn’t want to settle for less than all of Rafe, which had not happened in their marriage. On the other hand, Rafe could be the perfect male when he applied his workaholic skills to winning Olivia back.

So realistic. So authentic. So dramatic and vividly intense. This is one of those reads that I couldn’t stop reading but then I wished it wasn’t over when I had finished it. I think now I will go back and reread the entire series. It is a keeper for sure.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
