Danielle Steel is an auto buy author for me and I have enjoyed her books for many years. She doesn't disappoint with The Affair. A very heartfelt and emotional read that I would definitely recommend.

I already LOVE Danielle Steel and was NOT disappointed with her latest book! You know the author is doing a fab job when you actually want to punch a character through a book - and then choke him lol. As much as I hated one, I loved the others. From the beginning, I thought Rose would be more of a main character, but she really wasn't - but it was all good. I did love the relationships between the sisters and would LOVE to see more books about them individually. I can't say that I would have made the same choices that Nadia made - but for this story, it worked. Thank you to Netgalley for providing a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review

I’ve been reading Danielle Steel for as long as I can recall. She has always been a champion of women in some way, even if small. They always seem to figure it all out and wind up with a satisfying HEA. In this book, she jumped the shark in a huge way. I found this book, though well written offensive and demeaning to women and trusting committed relationships, whether married or not. I finished it as I kept hoping that the main character, Nadia would continue to be strong and yet she completely caved and took her cheating disgusting cheating pathetic husband back. I cannot think of a single woman IRL that would ever debase herself or her children like that. It was if she was a cult member that couldn’t let go and I was embarrassed for her. I do not care that it is acceptable and very “French” to cheat and carry as if nothing happened no matter how many times the author repeated it. Not acceptable in any way. There was so much wrong with this story and DS’s portrayal of women that I wonder what she was thinking or why anyone would like it. If you want to read about women allowing themselves to be treated as second class citizens, emotional punching bags and having no respect for themselves then go ahead and read it, but if you have even a modicum of respect for just one woman, skip it. I wish I had.

I have mixed feelings about this book... I enjoyed it more than I didn't and it is classic Danielle steel! How a much publicized affair and a baby as a result of that impacts a high profile couple and their extended family. The ramifications are far reaching. How this family of sisters and their mother come together in support of Nadia and end up supporting one another and their individual difficulties in the process. They're different viewpoints on how Nadia should proceed and why. And ultimately, what Nadia decides! It was definitely an interesting book with many interesting viewpoints and I enjoyed the story from that aspect. As with so many other DS books, the characters are impacted by tragedy on some level or another but the characters are all beautiful and talented and successful and seem to have everything including the ability to always have a fairy tale ending. oftentimes her books feel a little less like real life for most of the world and a little bit more like real life for Danielle steel. I still enjoy her books and will keep reading them. I'd still recommend this book but it fell slightly short of what I normally have come to expect from her.

The Affair by Danielle Steel

DS has done it again!!!!!!!!!
Rose the mother is a powerful women at Mode Magazine. She has four daughters who are just as strong as there mother. Nadia, Olivia, Venetia and Athena. This book is about An Affair that Nadia's husband has with a very high profiled actress. It tells you all the twist and turns of this relationship. Should Nadia take him back should she end it with him. Should their love that have had keep them together. I do say that a lot of people today walk away maybe too fast before they try to work it out.
This story tells you more about the sisters and their life's.

This is a good book to read and will keep you interested. Maybe not what you want for an ending.

I went into this book thinking it is probably a story that has been done 1000 times. However, this one is slightly different and very enjoyable.

It started off with the Mother, Rose, telling the story. I wish we would have gotten more of a back story on her. She loves her career but yet still makes time for her daughters.

This book really begged the question, what are you willing to forgive for love ? I hope everyone gives this book a chance you will be pleasantly surprised

The Affair is an emotional read with likable characters and a storyline that was packed with family drama and some interesting twists. I loved that it wasn't just about one character but involved multiple family members. The writing is good and I look forward to reading more books by this author in the future.

I normally am really entertained by Danielle Steel books but I have to say I think this is absolutely the worst one I have ever read. I want to keep this spoiler free so I won’t talk about the ending, What I will say is that this book was even more repetitive than usual with her books, and more than two thirds of the book was basically the main character’s sisters and mother telling her to get a divorce while she hesitated, and the cheating husband wanting his cake and eating it too. Danielle just basically passes this off as just another day in France (stereotype much?). I will still be a long time Danielle Steel reader but this book was so unsatisfying for me..

As Editor in Chief for Mode magazine, Rose runs a tight ship and does not ever mix business with her personal life. When the staff wants to put on the cover an up and coming young, beautiful actress, Rose is shocked to learn that this actress has been having an open affair with a married famous French author, who so happens to be her son-in-law. And to top it off she is also pregnant with his baby. Attempting to not draw suspicion from her staff, she is quick to call her daughters to find out what is going on and if Nadia is aware of her husband's indiscretion. Despite Rose's success, being a mother and protecting her family will always come first.

Nadia is blindsided by the public humiliation of Nicolas' affair. Knowing she must protect her two young daughters from the media and gossip, she wants nothing more than to surround herself with her three sisters and mother. Even though all 5 women couldn't be more different from each other, their bond is strong enough to give each other love, comfort, and support. Even though all the women have differing opinions, it's ultimately up to Nadia what her decision will be. Though Nicolas is devastated and remorseful for doing what he did and hurting Nadia, does she have it in her heart to forgive him and give him a second chance? Or are her and the girls better off without him?

The book shows the bond between family and even during their busy and chaotic lives, they will always be there for each other. One sister in particular reveals a dark secret that ultimately does not stay hidden and her world is suddenly turned upside down. Though she gave Nadia some harsh advice, she now realizes that it's easy to tell someone what to do but it's completely different when you are the one physically going through everything. I've been a Danielle Steel fan for years from her books to movies and was excited to read this. Looking forward to the next book.

Thank you Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the opportunity to read this book.

The Affair is the latest novel by Danielle Steel. I found it easy to read with Danielle Steel’s trademark writing style. I have been reading this author’s novels since I was twelve (I borrowed them from my mother and then the library). Despite the subject matter, it is an easy breezy type of book. A husband has an affair, and we see how it affects his wife and children. The situation is further complicated because the mistress is an actress, and he is a bestselling novelist. The point-of-view switches between Nadia, Nicolas, and Rose. We get to see each person’s point-of-view on the affair and how it affects them. We go from Paris to LA and to New York as well as the French countryside. The author provides good descriptions of each character which allowed me to visualize them. I liked seeing Nadia develop into a stronger more confident woman. We also get to the see the four sisters strengthen their bond. This story did not play out as I expected which was great. I like that the women are smart and driven. It is wonderful that the author gave us strong female characters. There is plenty of glamour as well in the story (it would not be a Danielle Steel novel without a little glitz). There is some mild foul language in the book plus a repetition of information. I do not need a character’s backstory repeated to me several times nor the details of the affair. The Affair was a wonderfully distracting novel. I enjoy books that takes your mind of your own worries. The Affair is a poignant novel with a frustrating affair, sensitive sisters, a compassionate mother, a self-absorbed thespian, a sinister secret, a problematic pregnancy, and a reckless spouse.

It has been years since I picked up a book by Danielle Steel. And for the life of me, I don't know why! I used to read her book when I was in high school and loved them! The Affair made me remember why I loved her books! Wonderful story and characters! What do you do when your husband has an affair? What if he was a famous author and she was a high profile actress? What do you do when you can't hide away from the limelight your husband has dragged you into? While Nadia's husband is very sad he has put his family at risk, he still loves and cherishes everything he has, including Nadia. Nadia's sisters and mother rush to her side and help her make the hardest decisions of her life.
The affair has great characters and is easy to read. This book makes me want to visit overseas and take in the country side. I am so glad I decided to give Danielle Steel another try. The Affair was the perfect way to get back to her. I will continue to read her work and recommend this to others. Special thanks to NetGalley, Danielle Steel, Random House Publishing- Ballantine-Delacorte Press for the advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest opinion. #TheAffair #NetGalley

The Affair by Danielle Steel. I loved this story such a happy ending. I love happy endings. You will be amazed by this story. You would have never guessed the twists and turns of this story. I love the descriptions of the clothing and some of the houses Nadia designed. The American and the French culture combining. If you love Danielle Steel you will love this story.

Another great story of four strong women who happen to be sisters and have an even stronger matriarch Mother. All of these women are successful and accomplished in their lives and chosen vocations.
When ones Husband has an affair, the sisters and mom rally around each other and in comforting her they also comfort each other. They don't live near each other but still find ways to show up and and offer their support.
I love reading Danielle's books as I find them to be great feel good stories with strong Female protagonists.
Thank you to Netgalley, Random House Ballantine and the Author Danielle Steel for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Danielle Steele has an innate ability to describe characters and backgrounds that being them to life. It's a rare talent and I'm in awe each time I reasoned her stories. Although I fell in love with this family: how they rallied around to provide support, comfort and offer opinions, I didn't like the ending.

We all face difficult decisions in life and I feel how we arrive at a resolution is vital. When a family is altered by one person's actions, all members feelings and reactions deserve review. How any children involved are affected and what actions adults take define the rest Of their lives. It's a moral dilemma and although I don't think the ending was appropriate it was a great story.

The Affair by Danielle Steel

How an affair in one family can affect the whole family dynamics. Rose McCarthy is a whirlwind Editor in Chief of a fashion magazine, a loving marriage, three talented daughters.
Her youngest daughter, Nadia who lives in France is the one who has the husband who cheated with a young actress and then gets her pregnant. The worst thing is they flaunt their affair all over the press. Nadia’s mother even had to make the decision to publish the article in her own magazine.
Nadias two other sisters became involved because it was there sister.
Nadia and her two sisters and her mother end up taking a journey of self discovery, balance, resolution, and bonding.

Once again Danielle Steel takes a topic that is difficult, but brings it to the forefront in such a way that a person sees that there are two choices to make. The first choice would be to immediately start the process to separate and then divorce. The other choice is to see if your marriage can be saved. The growth of the characters is phenomenal and you feel for the sisters and the mother and the actual sister whose husband cheated on her!
This is such a awe-inspiring book that I definitely will recommend!

I received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.

Once again, Danielle Steel will touch the hearts of readers everywhere! The Affair is definitely another 5+ star book! It is a must read that you’ll never forget! I might as well have been wearing my favorite pajamas and cozy slippers, and sitting in my favorite chair by the fireplace while reading this book because The Affair has all the feels! You’ll relive all your favorite moments and memories of your mother and siblings and fall in love with Rose McCarthy and her daughters Athena, Venetia, Olivia and Nadia.

The Affair is a gorgeous and deeply moving story about unconditional love. It is a beautiful portrayal of the depth of emotions a mother feels for her children, the unbreakable bonds between four sisters, and the love each of the sisters have for their significant others. It’s a heartwarming story about family royalties and suppport. Reading about the relationships between the four sisters felt like walking into a room filled with the people who matter the most to you and being enveloped by hugs.

Although the Affair is about the youngest sister, Nadia, and the tulmoutous turn her life takes after learning that her husband is having an affair, the book is equally about the endearing relationships between the sisters and their mother. The Affair is about much more than infidelity in Nadia’s marriage and the love, hurt, sadness and anger she feels. It is a story of love shared between sisters and their mother too because they are the uplifting rays of sunshine in Nadia’s darkest days.

Rose, the mother, is a highly influential woman and loves her life running Mode magazine. She is elegant and honest, and has always prided herself on ensuring that Mode is a dignified magazine. Her four grown daughters are happy and successful in their own ways as well. Their lives have taken them far from the home they once shared with Rose, so her passion for Mode keeps her feeling young and fulfilled. She and her team at Mode are planning for the release of their biggest issue of the year when Rose is hit with earth shattering news.

Athena is the oldest daughter at 43, and loves the life she shares with Joe. She is a free spirited and highly successful chef with a cooking show. After being together for over a decade, Athena and Joe are still madly in love and do not feel the need to get married. They are happy with their dogs as their children.

Olivia is 39 and is proud to be a superior court judge. Her husband, Harley, is a federal court judge. Will, their 14 year old son, is their pride and joy. Olivia has a more serious approach to life compared to her sisters. She and Harley were a perfect match from the beginning because they both share similar views. Even though Harley is much older, Olivia has always seemed wise beyond her years so they’ve always had a happy marriage.

Venetia is 41, and is admired for her unique and eccentric clothing designs, so she has also found a path in life that showcases her creativity and has made her successful. Her husband and their three children, Seth, Jack, and India, make her feel like the most blessed and luckiest woman in the world.

Nadia is the youngest of the four sisters at 36. She lives farther away than her sisters do, but has always felt more at home in Paris than in America. Nadia’s talents as an interior designer have made her one of the most sought after designers. She has always been happy with her life with her husband, Nicholas, and their two daughters Laure and Sylvie. She was blissfully unaware that anything was wrong until the dramatic revelation that Nicholas was having an affair.

Nicholas, a famous author, is well known all over the world. While on the movie set for a movie based on one of his books, he and a much younger actress, Pascale Solon, started a relationship. Their affair was outed at the Cannes Film Festival so there was no way for Nicholas to deny it. Nadia was hurt by the affair, humiliated that everyone in the world knew about it, and devastated and furious when she (and the rest of the world) learned that Pascale is pregnant.

Rose and Nadia’s sisters rallied together to support and help her, but Nadia was still torn over what to do. Nicholas apologized profusely, begged for forgiveness, promised to never falter again and insisted that he loved her and not Pascale. Despite his declarations about how much he loves her, Nicholas is still mesmerized by Pascale though and wants to be with her until the baby is born. Actions speak louder than words, and his choice to be with Pascale is an action that Nadia cannot ignore. Nicholas says it’s only until the baby is born, but that is of no comfort to Nadia.

While Nadia grapples with making a decision about what to do about her marriage and how to move forward with her life, one of the sisters shares a shocking secret. Even their mother was harboring a secret. None of the women were prepared for the rush of emotions they all felt at the news that was shared.

The outcome of The Affair is 50/50 because you know Nadia is either going to peruse divorce or try to work things out with Nicholas. While some readers will cheer for Nadia’s decision, others may disagree with it. Regardless of your personal feelings about Nadia’s decision, you’ll fall in love with the four sisters, their mother, and the dynamics of their bonds. I highly recommend The Affair, by Danielle Steel. It will warm your heart and touch your soul.

Danielle Steel finds a way to delight yet again with The Affair . She has a way of showing all sides of emotion throughout the book. I enjoyed seeing this side of her writing and it was a great escape from reality .
Rose is in charge of a major fashion magazine and tries to push off putting a major star on the cover as she is having an affair with Rose’s son in law. Rose feels stuck between what’s best for the magazine and hurting her daughter . Nadia thought she had a great marriage until her husband has an affair with an actress that ends up pregnant. Through spending time with her family she has to choose what is best for her and her children and doesn’t feel like she can overlook her husband’s affair even though she loves him.
This story is about family and the heartbreak that can come to everyone involved over one person’s choices .
Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for the arc for my honest opinion.
