Appreciate NetGalley for the opportunity to read this advance copy. Having read every single one of Danielle Steele's books, I am always up for reading her newest. Unfortunately, this book left me with a wish that I could have gotten the hours back to invest in reading some other book. The basic premise was living through a high,y public and embarrassing affair. There were several side stories that never went anywhere and the whole book was predictable. Only the main character, Nadia, was fleshed out. The rest were one dimensional characters who were described the same way over and over. There was no one to root for. Near the end, there was a gentleman introduced and the hopes were that he would be interesting, but alas, he was not. I cannot recommend “The Affair” as a good read. Better to read “Neighbors” which was so much better!
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read the book for an honest review.
The book follows Nadia and her journey through her husband's blatant affair with a young movie star and the baby that is a result of affair. Her three sisters support her as well as her strong mother figure. Nadia has been in France for so long she feels more French rather than American.. Her decision and her actions following the affair, how she builds herself back up and regains her strength as well as confidence is a strong theme in the book.
The book does not flow well it appears that the writer writes different chapters maybe at different times and repeats herself through out the book. I have read many Danielle Steele novels, and this is better than the previous book I read but with the repeating it is difficult to get into the flow of the story.
I did enjoy the story as well as the interaction between the sisters and mother. This was a nice way to reflect on the strong relationships and the support system with family.
This book is about an affair that Nicolas has with a young beautiful actress.while his wife Nadia is working a full time job and taking care of their two children. The affair not only tears apart this family but also threatens another couple in the family when a deep dark secret is exposed, Nadia will have to make big decisions, can she forgive Nicolas or should she move on? If she forgives him can she forgives him can she ever forget? Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the chance to read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
It has been many years since I have read a Danielle Steel book, and to be honest I have been a little judgy of her work in the past. I am glad that I picked this one up though. Is this the most thought provoking and interesting book I have ever read? No. But, it was enjoyable book and was well written with a good plot.
Book was slow and boring at times. Took too long to get to the point of the story. One min she loves her husband one min she can’t stand him. Normally Danielle Steel books are great. Story didn’t keep my attention.
Danielle Steel is one of those authors where I know I’m going to love the book I’m about to read. The Affair is exactly that! I love the characters, the detailed storyline Steel writes, & the ending that was absolutely perfect. I will be recommending this book to everyone!!
I really enjoyed this book, but I question the small side story line, I wasn't sure why it was brought in, I don't feel it added to the story, or in my opinion made sense.
The relationships of the sisters is one I long to have with mine.
The descriptions of the house that was renovated for Greg, made me want to go there and see it. It sounds perfect.
Rose is the head of an upscale fashion magazine with 4 grown, successful daughters. This book examines women’s empowerment, family unity and marital/partner relationships. Each woman was faced with challenges, decisions and choices that begged the question “What would I do in that situation”. There were no easy answers.
I appreciated that there was no dying or death in this book – that would have been too much like “real-life”. A quick read
Thank you to NetGalley for sending an advanced copy of Danielle Steel’s book, The Affair, for me to read and review
I love Danielle Steel. I always know that its gonna be a easy quick red that always sucks me right in. Strong family bonds, with lies, drama and heartbreak. love how the story told about each sister and their lives, the strong mother that always made time for her daughters. The power of forgiveness and always a happy ending. would definetly recommend this book. Thank you Netgalley.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to review this book.
This book isn't revolutionary. It's not going to set the world on fire. The title tells you what it's about. It was a very quick, easy read, and actually better than some of Steel's latest offerings, so there's that. if you are looking for a novel that you will breeze through and won't make you think too hard, this is it.
A powerful story of love, divorce and family. Sisters close ranks to protect one of theirs. A look into who we love and how much we are willing to give up to forgive someone. Great read!!
As always, Danielle Steel hits it out of the park! I loved The Affair. The story of 4 sisters dealing with real life issues, but supporting each other through it all. It was the right book at the right time for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the character development and the resilience of the families. A great read. 4 stars.
The Affair By Danielle Steel is a story of betrayal in front of the eyes of the tabloids and their readers. A tale as old as time, successful married man falls for beautiful woman, who happens to be a young actress, and begins an affair that he is too entralled with to give up, and ends with a baby.
Rose is the editor of Mode and finds out about her daughter's husband is having an affair when the actress for September's cover issue is pitched in a meeting. Before calling Nadia, Rose calls her other daughters to see if they have heard of the news. She flies out to Paris to comfort her daughter and offer advice. Her other daughters offer their opinions and share secrets and good times with each other.
This was another heart tugging story from Danielle Steel that made me feel the betrayal and sadness and ask myself if I could forgive.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine for allowing me to read an ARC of this book.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an eARC of this book.
I decided to read this next because I was in the mood for an enjoyable frivolous read which is what one can usually expect from this author. I was so wrong. Book was a total waste of time. Poorly edited, boring, predictable plot which did not take any of the available twists, some of the characters are interesting but one of the major ones is not likeable. Many better ways to spend a day.

What would you do if your significant other had an affair and everyone knew about it? It’s easy to know what you would do, until you actually find yourself in that situation. I can always count on Danielle Steel to write a book that takes me away from reality and “The Affair” was no exception. Although I kept waiting for more from this book, bit never quite got there leaving it good, but not great.
This book was the perfect escape. It was lovely and fun. It was my first book by this author and I will definitely be on the look out for more!!
Thank you to Random House - Ballantine and NetGally for sending an advanced copy of Danielle Steel’s book, The Affair, for me to read and review.
If you’re looking to escape from reality, the book works. It’s about a perfect mother, and her almost perfect four daughters. They are beautiful, bright and successful. They travel to beautiful places.
Other than a couple of glitches, including “The Affair”, this is the perfect fairytale, if you like fairytales!
The novel publishes 03/02/2021.
I want to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for allowing me to read this book and give my honest opinion. This book is back to Danielle Steel at her best. At first, I thought this book would be about Rose, the head of Mode magazine and how she runs her magazine with an affair thrown in (because of the title). Instead, it was a book about a famous author who has an affair with a starlet. The author happens to be married to Rose's daughter Nadia. Nadia has three sisters (who are in the book way more than her last few with other characters) who are all at different crossroads in their life (a huge secret being kept from a spouse, to marry or not to marry, or adding another family to the mix). All while Nadia is dealing with Nicolas and his affair, she is continuing to build her interior design business. This is a book that I highly recommend if you are a fan of old school Danielle Steel (think Jewels or Zoya). Such a good book!
Have you ever played the game "what would you do?" where you say if this EVER happened to me... I would do ... This book has this as an underlying theme. All the time humans say one thing, and then when faced with that situation in real life, do you stick to your guns? welcome to the lives of 4 very different women and the relationships they have with one another as well as with their significant others.
Quiz read, that ends somewhat predictably, but like I said until you are in that situation you cannot say with certainty what the outcome will be.

I grew up reading Ms. Steel, and always enjoyed reading her books. Even as her books are formula; they were a comfort. Many were read during High School and College years as a distraction. As I grew up, we grew apart and I just started reading her again. Her style is one I can read quickly.
The Affair in true Danielle Steel Fashion is full of glitz and glamour as we are based in New York and Paris. The premise is a widower and her four daughters. All the women are strong, intelligent, successful but each have unique challenges in their lives. The different points of view on marriage, but in the end, we are family was refreshing. It was nice to come back to an author and get exactly what I needed from a book. I recommend.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballentine for the advanced copy for my voluntary review.
This review will go to Amazon on Release day, and Goodreads approx. Feb 2, 2021.
