This is the third book by Jennifer Finney Boylan that I have read. I love her writing style. She really has a way with words. The previous books I read dealt with Boylan's life as she grew up transgendered and then the second book was about growing up in a haunted house. This book tackles the topic of parenting. Boylan started parenthood as a male, then transitioned to female which gave her an interesting perspective on parenting, which she shares more about in this book. Interspersed through certain sections there are interviews with other famous parents and their take on various parenting struggles. I enjoyed the book, but I wish there was more of Jennifer's writing and less interviews.

Jennifer Finney Boylan is one of a kind -- uproariously funny, insightful, and deeply humane. She has emerged as a major voice, and is now writing regularly and well for the New York Times.
