Chief of Police Jane Hardy plunges into the investigation of a house fire that claimed the life of a local woman as well as one of the firefighters. It’s clear the woman was murdered. But why? The unraveling of Jane’s personal life only makes the answers in the case more difficult to find.

Then Jane’s fifteen-year-old son is accused of a horrific crime, and she has to decide whether or not she can trust her ex, Reid, in the attempt to prove Will’s innocence—and whether she can trust Reid with her heart.

Three days of Jane’s past are missing from her memory, and that’s not all that has been stolen from her. As she works to find the woman’s murdered and clear her son’s name, finding out what happened in those three days could change everything.

This is the third and last book in the Pelican Harbor series. I haven’t read the first two books, but as I went along reading this, I could slowly fill in the gaps and I didn’t feel that I was missing much.

I really loved the way the book started off; it grasped my attention right away. The plot was so fast and action packed. There are several mysteries and investigations going on along with some personal family drama, all of which adds to the excitement.

I think this is a perfect read for someone like me who loves detective or police procedural investigative suspenseful books!

Thank You NetGalley and Thomas Nelson--FICTION for this ARC!

Three Missing Days by Colleen Coble is the third book in the Pelican Harbor series. A woman dies in a house fire, and police chief Jane Hardy instantly knows that this death was not accidental but murder. Meanwhile, her fifteen year old son Reid is accused of murder, and it looks like the two murders might be connected. The key to solving these cases depends on Jane's memories of what happened over fifteen years ago, yet Jane cannot remember what happened during three days (hence the title of the book). Once again, Coble has created a fantastic conclusion to this series.

I have really enjoyed this gripping romantic suspense series! In this one Jane has a hard job and a hard time remembering everything in her past that would answer so many questions she has. When she is pushed to remember three missing days that could finally give her some closure, wow! I never saw that coming! Fast paced with a lot of mystery and suspense that kept me turning the pages!
I was gifted a copy by the publisher through NetGalley. No review was required. My opinion and review is voluntary.

Three Missing Days by Colleen Coble is book 3 in the Pelican Harbor series. This entire series is astounding! It is Christian suspense at its finest. I think this book is best read in order, after reading the first two books. Here, the continuing story concludes beautifully. The suspense and plot twists in this book make it a fantastic read. I really loved seeing the characters' lives continue to develop throughout the books. It was a very satisfying conclusion. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

Story Notes

Colleen Coble brings readers the final, much anticipated, installment of the Pelican Harbor Series and it is definitely one you won't want to miss.

Jane Hardy has finally gotten her son, Will, back in her life and has a chance at love again with Reid but it seems there is more from her past than any of them remember. A local woman is murdered in a house fire and the case becomes more bizarre with every clue found. Jane is scrambling to find answers before any one else is hurt but her personal life is about to implode. Reid's ex-wife is trying to get money but as she was legally declared dead, things are getting ugly. When she turns up actually dead after a confrontation with Will, Jane and Reid are thrust into every parent's worst nightmare - the arrest of their child for murder. Unable to work the case, Jane turns her mind to her first case for distraction and prays her fellow officers will find the answers to Will's case. But every clue that Jane turns up keeps returning her to Will's case until it becomes clear that everything happening is tied together in a complicated web of lies, deceit, murder and theft. Racing against the clock to save her son, Jane has to return to the dark places of her past to find the answers they need to solve the cases. But if she can't remember what happened in the three days she was with her mother, everything and everyone will be lost. Can Jane break through her mind block before she loses everyone she loves? Well, you'll just have to read the story to find out!! This was one of the most complicated books I've read recently. There were so many moving pieces and things happening that the story flowed very quickly. It was good to finally see questions being answered from the first book and to see how all the things that happened in the past two books were tied to Jane, Reid and Will. Nothing was left unanswered and there were even some surprising answers along the way too. The ending was very well done and I was glad to see how everyone got exactly what they deserved. And I'll tell you, if you can read this book without holding your breath in some places, you're a better person than me. I honestly didn't know how Ms. Coble was going to get everyone out of the crazy situations she had created for them. But she did it with her usual finesse and challenge to the readers' faith that she weaves so well into her stories. This is definitely a book you'll want to read and purchase for your shelves. I'm for sure looking forward to having my own copy so I can read the series again without a break so I can really see the connecting story threads. I certainly highly recommend both this story and the series and hope others will enjoy this trip to Pelican Harbor too.

I received this temporary complimentary E-book from the publisher via NetGalley in order to provide a fair and honest review. I will receive no fiscal compensation for this review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.

Three Missing Days by Colleen Coble is the conclusion to the Pelican Harbor series. I was enthralled by trying to figure out what happened to Jane during her “three missing days” everything entertwines together.
Jane’s son ends up getting arrested and she and Reed are trying to figure out who has set him up. This was definitely a page turner.
There is the storyline of figuring out who really killed the victims and trying to figure out Jane’s past. The action will keep you on your toes.

This is the third book in the Pelican Harbor series. Another hit from Coleen Coble! She is one of my favorite authors and this book is no exception.
Police Chief Jane Hardy is investigating a house fire where both a woman and a fireman's lives are lost. Then, it's realized that this fire wasn't accidental.
Then, another death occurs that is also surrounded by suspicion. This one was outside the home of Reid. Reid is the father of Jane's, now fifteen year old son, Will. I felt Jane's emotions when her son was arrested for murder.
To catch up those who haven't yet read the first two books in this series, Jane and Reid both grew up in a cult. They were 'married' at a young age and from that 'marriage' came their son, Will. Jane managed to escape the cult and was told by her own father that her son had died, only to discover years later the deception. She is working at having a relationship with her son and trying to trust Reid. But, should she trust him?
This story is related to years way back in the cult, as well as the present day murders. Often times we are forced to revisit things from our past that we'd rather leave there.
You must read this one for yourself to discover the reason for the title, 'Three Missing Days.' Another great story from Coleen Coble!
I was given an advanced ecopy of this by the publisher, Thomas Nelson and Netgalley. I was under no obligation to leave a positive review.

As the final book in the Pelican series I found this not as good as the other two books. Solving the mystery of who killed the 3 people was the only thing that kept me reading as the other topics of Jane’s mother and her father’s family seemed rather far fetched that these secrets were kept for so long. The romance also seemed too take too much away from the story.

This is the conclusion to the Pelican Harbor series and what an enjoyable story it turned out to be. This story finds Reid's ex-wife and Will's adoptive mother show up once again in Pelican Harbor. She wants money, not Reid or Will, but will do whatever she needs to get what she wants. When she ends up dead after falling off the dock at Reid's house, Will is arrested for murder. Can Reid and Jane find the evidence they need to prove his innocence. There are all kinds of things happening in this story dealing with Jane's past, including finding her mother, dealing with figures from her days in the cult and trying to figure out what happened during her Three Missing Days, just before she escaped the cult.

This is a fast paced conclusion to this trilogy. Jane and Reid are tested to the limit in this book. They have to unearth all the secrets from their past in order to move forward. All of their family and friends, especially Jane's friends in the police department, add to the depth of the story. I like stories with cold cases, and I really liked how Colleen Coble tied the present day crime to past events. There were several tense moments and a lot of suspense. Family had to come together to deal with all the various aspects of this story and it was great to finally see Jane and her father show how they feel about one another. This is a Christian fiction story and there are times where the characters call on their faith to move forward and not give up. I enjoyed this story and I was so happy to see Jane and Reid finally get their happily ever after.

I have to admit, I wasn't as engrossed in Three Missing Days by Colleen Coble as I was with her previous novel One Little Lie. I found the plot to be forced, the secret that Jane's mother was hiding inconceivable (why would you hide something like that for 15 years???) and her mother's sudden turnaround at the last second suspect. Of course, knowing that Will would be safe in the end, I continued to read to see how that happened, but I found the whole premise to be somewhat unbelievable. My other issue with the novel, which I didn't notice as much in her other novel was that it was very preachy. I don't mind the occasionally reference to a character's faith, but in this novel I felt I was being bashed over the head with it.

Thank you to the author, Thomas Nelson--FICTION and Netgalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Hmm, this was an interesting one. I have to admit, I was looking forward to this book ever since I read the first one.
It didn't live up to my expectations but it didn't not live up to my expectations.
I really liked seeing all the characters again but I felt that some of the magic from the first two books was missing.
The plot moved along quite well and there were not any dull moments.
Although it was not my favorite, I would still recommend this as a good ending to a great trilogy.

I have absolutely loved reading this series. What an epic conclusion to a story that has had me captivated from the very beginning. Jane and Reid are back, trying to build their relationship, but there is always something trying to get in the way. Coble did a great job in creating real, but not trivial conflict between the two main characters, while also using faith to help see them through. When their son becomes the target of a murder investigation, they must do their best to stay uninvolved with the direct investigation, while also putting the pieces together to help save their son. I also enjoyed the real distress felt at the possibility of their son being wrongfully convicted. You felt real distress from the characters, to the point they had to lean into their faith to continue.

This story does not lack in packing a punch. You will find complicated relationships, past hurts, revenge, murder, action packed suspense scenes, sabotage, but also faith, love, forgiveness, and friendship. Coble's best series to date, in my opinion.

I received a copy of this book digitally via NetGalley. I also pre-ordered a copy from Baker Book House. I read and reviewed this book voluntarily, and all opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Suspense, mystery, crime, romance, sweet, contemporary; Christian, series but stand alone read
Well written third book in the Pelican Harbor Series by C.C. Jane, Reid and Will's story along with both of their families, and friends was a thrill of a rid, mixed with faith, hope and light in the struggle to clear Will's name and solve 3 murders. Well done, great cast of characters, and of course, the trademark pulling together of the friends and family in this small town. I haven't read the other books in the series, but will definitely look for them to get the full impact of their story. Sweet romance and dedication between Jane and Reid, and Jane's dedication, determination to her job, and Reid's to solving the crimes as they work together to piece together some of the missing pieces.
Loved it!

I had started this book several days ago but had to find the first book of the series. These books are tied so closely, the second picks up shortly after the first, and the third follows the second to wrap it all up.

Jane Hardy was raised in a cult and left wither her father. In spite having moved to another state away from the cults reach, the members of the cult are never far away and watching trying to cause trouble. As Jane and Reid try to rebuild the trust that has been lacking they are engulfed in the murder of a woman and the death of a fireman attempting to save her. Reid's soon to be ex wife is also causing trouble only to be found murdered after a fight with Will, their son. It will take everyone to come together to find the truth that has been hidden for years.

I was happy to read the final book. The story was well written and carried through all three of the books. I liked the characters and the relationships with their friends. I really appreciated the strength of their faith even when they had reason to question it.

A house fire, two deaths. The house owner had previously called in a threatening phone call just prior to her death and the fireman who died in the blaze was just carrying out his duty and sadly died. Further investigations point out to arson and a deliberate attempt to kill the fireman by pretending there was a pet inside the house. The fireman was an avid dog lover.

Jane Hardy has these two deaths to investigate and a further case which is getting colder by the minute. When her 15 year old son is innocently drawn in as a murder suspect for the third murder and when it is so closely connected to Jane's partner and her son's father, it looks like as if the scene and things are being manipulated to seek revenge on Jane and her immediate family.

The story is a bit complicated - there are cults, and long standing unforgotten family disputes all leading to the present case.

I enjoyed the writing, the setting and the characters. I also understood the parents anxiety and what they felt was a miscarriage of justice and how often it does happen and what does one do in those circumstances.

Three Missing Days is the third book in the Pelican Harbor Series. Jane Hardy, police chief of Pelican Harbor, is investigating the mysterious death of a local woman when members of the cult she was raised in show up on an island nearby. She learns that their presence may be linked to Jane’s mother whom Jane has neither seen nor heard from in all the years since escaping the cult with her father. Jane and her ex, Reid, go in search of Jane’s mother and learn secrets that begin to unravel the memories of Jane’s past. But as Jane and Reid arrive back in town, they learn that Will, their son, has been framed for murder and could face life in prison or even the death penalty. Can the mysteries of Jane’s past help to solve the murders of the present? And will they be able to piece together all the clues in time to save their son?

I found Three Missing Days to be a book that caught my attention at the start and held it until the end. The story keeps a steady pace, never stalling out or dragging. The characters of Jane and Reid are likable and relatable. I appreciate the element of faith that Colleen Coble always works into her stories, and I appreciate that she writes clean romance. Overall, Three Missing Days was a good read — exciting, full of action, romance, and faith.

This is the third book in the series "Pelican Harbor".. I do recommend the first two in the series. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity. My review opinion is my own. Colleen Coble is a favorite author of mine and I always enjoy each one of her books. This is a captivating story that immediately drew me in to the charcters, intrigue and suspense. It is a story of family that is heartwarming and endearing to the reader.

In this last in the series we meet up with Jane the chief of police who is investigating a house fire with a murder then another murder occurs at the home of her son's Father. Her son is 15 and is arrested for murder. Jane suspects the two murders are connected and must work tirelessly to save her son while dealing with his Father who has just moved to her town with her son. His Father and Jane have a difficult history and have to overcome their history to work together in Faith to save their son.

This was such a exciting ending to this series. I loved the suspense elements, the charcters and the plot. I look forward to further work by this fine author and highly recommend this series.
