The typical Nora Roberts novel. Interesting and worth a read, however I found it a bit slow paced. I think I liked Raylen’s character more than Adrian’s. Part of his story is heartbreaking and brings you to tears.

In the words of Adrian and Rayman, this book checked EVERY one of my boxes - small town, community, family, children friendships, community, second chances, romance and mystery.(not necessarily in that order).

I also love the fact that the story builds over a long time frame, as does the romance.

There was laughter and there were tears, and once I started it, I could not put it down until I was finished. Now I can't wait to read it again.

This is a wonderful read. I have loved Nora Roberts for years, and this book is a perfect example of why. You get all the emotions : true love, humor, friendship, fear, loss, grief, a really evil big bad - everything you want in a book. Its cliché to say "i laughed and I cried" but I absolutely did. I cheered when the big bad got his due, and sighed when love was found.

As always there are a stellar cast of supporting characters. This is where I believe Ms. Roberts shines and puts herself at the top of her field. Her supporting characters are fleshed out with real lives, loves, triumphs, and tragedies. I end up worrying about and cheering for them as much as the main characters.

I love this book, and highly recommend you read it. It is a wonderful story and a demonstration of an author as the master of her craft.

Thrilling beginning and end but drags through out the middle. I think all the standard RS tropes were used also.

Nora Roberts hits all the right notes on family, friends, and most importantly love. Adrian Rizzo suffers a traumatic experience when she was a child when she, her mother, and nanny are attacked. Her mother takes her to her grandparents in Travelers Creek to avoid the publicity. There Adrian meets 10 year old Raylan Wells. Soon she goes back to her mother and life goes on. Raylan marries, has two children, and mourns when his wife is killed in a school shooting. Adrian becomes famous with her fitness routines.

I loved that Nora uses her granddaughter’s name, Kayla, as a character in the story. The story centers on family and all the iterations that family can mean. I would have read this in one sitting but my eyes couldn’t stay open at midnight.

Loved this book and the chance to review it.

I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley and this is my honest review.

I’ve heard of Nora Roberts before but this is the first book of hers that I’ve read and I absolutely loved it! I expected a romantic suspense novel but it was so much more than that I’m not really sure how I would class it. The first half had very little suspense but I loved the way that it built up the characters and spanned over a period of time so that you could see them all grow. It really made you root not just for the main characters but also the minor characters as well and it really set it up for the more action packed second half. Adrian was slightly too preachy about the merits of diet and exercise but there was something so likeable about her that I didn’t really care and the dogs just stole the show in the book for me, definitely my two favourite characters! I can’t wait to start getting into some of Nora Roberts previous books now.

Oh, what a tangled web of stories and events and lies. Adrian and her friends and family, Raylan and his family, and the lives they all live are the focus of this rambling tale of life, love, and loss. It’s broken up into three distinct parts, almost like a “leading up to”, “starting to see it through”, and “life as we know it” separation. It’s quite a long read, for sure, but I’d still say it’s a 3.5⭐️ read. Nora managed to twist everything on its ear a few times here. Adrian thinks she’s got a plan laid out, then her plans change and she uproots herself while convincing the friends who built her empire with her to make the move, or at least adjustments, with her. She remains charismatic and loving to all throughout the story, even to a mother who is distant at best (though that seems to be all Lina is wired to be most of the time), and tries to please so many along the way.

Raylan loved and lost in a horrid manner, and he’s forced to find a way to keep on breathing for his kids. Little does he realize that his wife wanted him happy more than anything, and she is 100% on board with his future love.

And then we have the danger. Who is it? Why? And once it all comes to a head, the hints along the way tie together and paint a very angry picture full of misplaced hate and a refusal to listen to any logic or reason. And the savior isn’t the expected party, but is my favorite character in this whole read: a Newfie named Sadie.

In classic Nora style with a modern leaning, we get such a clear picture of everyone’s lives that it’s difficult not to see this being adapted to screen in the future. Sure, it’s not her JD Robb series, but it’s definitely got all of the elements of a read that can engage and interest classic romance readers, suspense readers, and romantic suspense readers all at once.

I enjoyed the storyline of this book, although it was really really predictable. I had it figured out in the first 30%. That being said, it was still a decent read.

It’s been years since her own father tried to kill her. Adrian Rizzo moved into her grandparents farm and lived a happy, bucolic life. As adults, she and her mother, Lina have each created a workout empire, but they are no longer close, only cordial. When Lina begins getting death threats, Adrian dismisses them, but as she new threat appears in the form of a rhyme and the postmarks get closer and closer, Lina and Adrian begin to fear the threats are real

Once I started reading this book I could not put it down. This book follows Adrian across almost 3 decades. This book is broken down into three parts and each one of them is interesting to read. You will meet several people along the way who become Adrian's core people. You will laugh and cry while reading this book. The book is very emotional, well written with a mystery to solve.

As an avid NR fan, I was excited to read this. while I enjoyed it fully, I was able to predict early on who the villain is. On the other hand, it was an interesting twist from the usual to have the hero with a family already in place. Note that none of this would stop me from recommending or reading this book.

I absolutely loved this book. It was classic Nora Roberts at her finest. I finished it in one sitting and thought it was very well done.

The book deals with it all, family issues, love, death, intrigue and ambition. Roberts once again kept me fully engaged from start to finish.
