This was a miss. I'm a longtime fan of Nora, but her books have gotten to be so planogram that it takes all the enjoyment out of it. There's a definite pattern to the stories she's been writing, and they all read exactly the same.

Nora never disappoints and while her standalones are often not my favorites, this story held my interest and seemed fresh. I could have done without the view of the villain as I felt it took away from actually developing the main relationship a bit.

This book starts with a bang and doesn't slow down. The characters are so developed that they become familiar and you recognize relatives and friends in them. The story line is well developed and comes to a beautiful conclusion. I love that an ongoing theme through the book was "spend the time you have with those you love" - it's timely but it's also too easy to forget in the hustle and bustle.
Mrs Roberts never fails to thrill and provide us with characters and stories that will remain with us for years to come.

This book was more of a less suspenseful slow build story. It kept me interested but I do wish there would have been more mystery/suspense toward the beginning. You can never go wrong with Nora Roberts though!

I am usually able to fly through a Nora Roberts book, but this one took some time. It is a longer book, but it also has a slow build. It isn't a typical Nora Roberts romance either. The characters are really enjoyable for the most part and I felt I really knew the characters. I love the scene building and thought it sounded like a charming place. I didn't really think it was a mystery or suspense book even though it did have some of the dynamics. Overall, Legacy was a likeable book.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Nora Roberts for the e-arc of Legacy in exchange for an honest review.
Adrian first met her father at the age of seven, the day he tried to kill her. After the traumatic event, Adrian’s mother leaves her with her grandparents for the summer while she grows her business into a multi-million dollar corporation . Adrian spends her time making friends and trying not to develop a crush on her best friend’s older brother.
A decade later, Adrian has followed in her mother’s footsteps. She has created her own brand of yoga and fitness videos under her mother’s company but retains creative control. As her fame grows, so does the attention of obsessive fans. Everyone writes of the death threats that Adrian starts to receive as being part of the business, but could there be more behind the threatening poems than people believe?
I enjoyed some aspects of the book, and was not a fan of others. I liked following Adrian from the time she was little through to her adult life, getting the opportunity to see her grow and how the circumstances of her life shaped her. I didn’t like her pushing her opinions and outlook on fitness on her friends without any provocation from them that it was something they wanted, especially with the love interest. This aspect can potentially be very triggering for some readers.
Overall, though, I did enjoy the slow build romance and suspense. Though the suspense aspect didn’t pick up until later than I would have liked, the book had a satisfying ending. It was a more character driven story rather than plot driven, showcasing Roberts character building skills. I may be interested to try out another Roberts book, perhaps some of her more fantasy based works, but I will be checking the reviews beforehand.

Once again, Nora Roberts proves why she is the queen of storytelling. From the first page, I was invested in Adrian and I loved following her rise to success and fame. Her relationship with her grandfather and her friends was heart-warming and she was ready for the love that reentered her life. The suspense and drama that presented throughout the story was handing in perfect fashion, kind of like J.D. Robb might handle it. 😉 I would definitely not pass this one up!

Nora Roberts has long crafted strong, independent, mouthy heroines and Adrian Rizzo upholds this trend beautifully.
Are the characters sometimes unlikeable? Yeah. Three Sisters Island trilogy had a biting, very difficult lead character that you end up liking despite yourself (and in the past two decades she has become my favorite- may we all have the self-respect of Ripley Todd-Booke).
What I wanted in this work was just a little more tightly woven suspense and mystery; otherwise, this is classic Nora and I am, as always, here for anything she writes.

This is my first Nora Roberts book and I went in blind. At first the story line was interesting....but then it just started to kinda drag. I agree with some other reviews. The main character pushing her fitness lifestyle on everyone the way she did is annoying and not professional at all. Who just assumed someone wants weights and a fitness delivered the way she did it? Idk but kind of insulting to me especially after him just loosing his wife. And also I agree with he romantic side of this story like it went from did to the bedroom without any build 😬🤔. This is a long book so there was plenty of time to build that relationship but guess not........ the suspense side was interesting and good twist. Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read this.

Nora Roberts does it again! She is a master at creating fictional worlds that you want to be a part of and Legacy was no different. The characters were multi-dimensional and the entire story was so well written. I have been reading Ms. Roberts my entire adult life and she never fails to deliver captivating stories that you can’t ever put down.

The story is primarily about a young girl, Adrian, who’s raised by a mogul and taught to be a superstar. After surviving the abuses of her ex-husband which culminated in a life-threatening attack resulting in his death, her mother Lina becomes ruthless in her pursuit of success. The horrific incident, that Adrian witnessed as a child, turned out to be beneficial to Lina but scarring for Adrian. Continued...https://booksuplift.com/legacy/

I LOVE Nora Roberts. I read most of her books, even though these days they are pretty much the same outline, similar to Caroline Brown's novels. You can overlook that normally because the characters are likeable and often really funny. This book felt like it skimmed most elements of the story and the main relationship felt a bit "light".

I really like Nora Robert's stories and how they really suck you in, but I will say I could not stand Adrian. She had no flaws and was completely unrelatable, pushy, and too much of the cool girl to feel real. I loved pops! I thought this would be a thrilling romantic suspense novel but, it was neither especially romantic or suspenseful.

This was a disappointment unfortunately.
I’ll preface this with- I have never read a Nora Roberts book- so I was pumped to get an opportunity to check out Legacy. I was not thrilled with the outcome. For a romantic thriller it seemed to lack both of those things and was instead rather bogged down with the minutia of daily life.
I think this could have been a better book if it was shorter and also if I had liked Adrian. Overall I found her to be kind of blah which lends to a lackluster reading experience.
I will definitely read other Nora Roberts releases in the future- but I think this one was not her best showing and not the one to start out with.
I appreciated the opportunity to read and review though and I look forward to trying another in the future. Thank you!
I appreciate the

I have read many Nora Roberts books. So when I was able to read this one I was very excited. But, unlike other books written by Nora Roberts I couldn't get into this one. For me it wasn't like other books I have read in the past. The book did improve as it went on. I was bored and disconnected unlike all the other books I have read that she has written. It did have good points in it. I didn't have any surprise or suspense in the book. It was, for me, all over the place.

Legacy

Thank you to NetGalley and the St. Martin’s Press for the advanced copy of this story, I really enjoyed it.
Adrian Rizzo is definitely her mothers daughter. Even down to the detail of being stalked. Lina Rizzo is a famous workout guru with her own fitness program and her daughter Adrian followed her mothers lead and started up her own fitness business. Mother like daughter. This story tells the tale of stalker that sends Adrian a poem once a year from different locations for years, then all of a sudden the poems start to come more frequently. Lina hires a PI to look into the poems and to find who is sending her daughter these poems. Who keeps sending these poems and why has the timeline increased?
Who doesn’t love a good Nora Roberts story? I have been reading her books for 20+ years and she never disappoints, including this story.
Again, thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press!!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC of Legacy by Nora Roberts. This is my first book I have read by Nora Roberts, and I really enjoyed it.
Adrian is a well known for her fitness and yoga videos. She gets threatening. notes that only get more disturbing over time. These notes are postmarked from different cities across the US, and it hard to know who these notes are from.
I loved the character development of Adrian. We meet her when she experienced a very difficult and traumatic event in her childhood, her endearing relationship with her grand parents who raised her, and as an adult a savvy fitness celebrity content creator.

First I want to say I love Nora Robert’s book and I was excited to get this book as an ARC. I rated this book two stars because I like Nora Roberts, but I did not like this book at all.
I normally don’t mind not liking the main character but enjoy the story because it has substance. Adrian was pushy and super judgmental of her friends and family's health choices. She thought her way of “fitness” was the only way to live. So not liking the main character and then reading a lot of unnecessary details and side stories that did not add to the book was frustrating. The “romance” between Adrain and Raylan could be a little more.
Nonetheless, this book will not deter from reading more books by Robert.
Thank you St. Martin and NetGalley for a copy of the Legacy in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed reading this book. I didn't like Lina Rizzo. Dom Rizzo is my favorite character. I knew who the killer was at the beginning of the book.
I received an ARC from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.

Was so looking forward to receiving this ARC from Netgalley, as Nora Roberts is one of my favorite authors.
I found this novel disappointing as the story did not capture your interest as her books normally do.
It contained little romance, little mystery but mainly focused on Adrian’s career and life.
As a teen, Adrian starts a business that is focused on fitness. She involves her friends in this business and it becomes extremely successful.
Adrian has been receiving poems for years but they become more concerning and her Mother ( also a fitness celebrity) hires a private eye .
Hoping that the next Nora Roberts novel is as good as her previous novels.
