Enigma Variations is the second book in the Justin Vincent thriller series by Bradley W. Wright. Justin a former cat burglar and his partner, a brilliant hacker named Ashna help recover items for clients when the authorities can no longer help.
Enigma Variations has Justin trying to decide between settling down with his girlfriend Gabrielle or getting back into the thrill of the job. Needless to say the Job wins when a friend of Gabrielle's father hires Justin to retrieve a music composers stolen notes in what should be a quick and easy case, it turns out to be much more.
Following in the footsteps best known by Dan Brown fans Justin follows a trail of conspiracy, cryptography, and intrigue through a century deep mystery involving music theory..
A witty, suspenseful, page turner that while lacking polish has a lot to offer fans of Suspense, Mystery, thriller, and historical deep dives.
Something I truly appreciated was the fact that Justin and Ashna could be partners without the cliche of the "will they or wont they" romantic tropes. Its a refreshing change of pace to see that dynamic between a man and a woman partnership, it feels like the female part wasnt there as part of a mans fantasy but as an equal.

Do you like reading descriptions of places, buildings, clothes, picking locks and people's appearance? Then you'll love this book. I unfortunately don't. I prefer good dialogue and some action.
The enigma did not incite my curiosity. I did not care about the solution. Besides the riddle I didn't care about there were too many players, too much conspiracy for my taste.
