I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Another great book from one of my favorite authors. Highly recommend to friends and family.
Amanda Uhl is a new to me author and I have to say I am looking forward to reading more by this author! I loved this book
Meh. Sadly this wasn`t for me.
I did not care for the characters or the story. It was sadly, how it was.
Great mix of action, paranormal fantasy and romance.
Strong, believable world building and complex, likable characters.
This can be read as a stand alone book but I do recommend reading the first book - it's just as enjoyable as this one.
I'm looking forward to the next installment in the series.
Cross Waves by Amanda Uhl is book Two in the Mind Hacker Series.
This was an exciting read about two people with special abilities and secrets working to protect the other. Enjoyed it.
Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a decent paranormal romance. Both characters are intensely connected to each even when they try their hardest to fight it. I liked the magically elements of the story and the thrill of capturing the evil spirits. Worth the read.
I received this ARC via Netgalley and Backlit PR, in return for an honest review. While the second book in this series, it is easily read as a standalone. This is a paranormal romantic suspense book, featuring Geneva Erickson and Rolf Jorgenson. The book opens with a life-changing event in Geneva’s life. Fast forward, Geneva’s grown up and now working for a paranormal agency. Paired with Rolfe to find his kidnapped sister whose also her best friend, she gets conflicting messages from his body language and his actions. Given their long history, she wants to be partnered with anyone but him. Unfortunately, their respective psychic powers are best paired together. But Rolfe has his own secrets. When they head to Arizona, things get weird with power crystals and psychic threats abounding.
This book has a high action plot with the past and the future challenging everyone as they race to find Rolfe’s sister. If you enjoy romance with the paranormal, you should enjoy this book.
What a great fresh perspective to paranormal and urban fantasy!. The world and character building was just great, and I can't wait to learn more! Thank you for the opportunity to find a new and FANTASTIC author! I'll be handselling this one easily!.
Geneva Ericksen is a powerful psychic, so much so, she can kill without touching. She can't risk falling in love or being close to anyone because she just might kill them unintentionally. When her best friend and Rolf's sister go missing, she's tasked with helping Rolf find her. Rolf, the man who despises her and who she still has feelings for. Or does he? His smoldering gazes tell her one thing while his cold words tell her another. She can't be distracted by Rolf, she must find his sister before it's too late. But there's a sinister plot to abduct Geneva and Rolf, transfer their explosive and deadly powers to the crystals before killing. Can Geneva and Rolf combine their strengths and connection to defeat their enemy or will their mistrust of each other only bring pain and death?
Cross Waves is a thrilling paranormal romantic suspense I couldn't put down. From the beginning, I connected with both Geneva and Rolf. It appeared to be an enemies to lovers romance at first but then it turned into something much more intense. Rolf is a hero among heroes. He's conflicted on so many levels, it was fun to watch him squirm. The plot moves at a fast pace with plenty of twists and turns to keep you wondering who the enemy is. I didn't figure out who it was until it was revealed. The romance, though, is what makes this such a wonderful story. There's a lot of obstacles for this couple to overcome but when they do, wow! It's explosive, to say the least. Amanda Uhl is an outstanding writer and her stories are irresistible. I whipped through the pages and stayed up late reading. Yes, it was that good. If you're looking for a paranormal romantic thriller you'll lose sleep over, pick up Cross Waves. Highly recommend!
Disclaimer: I received a copy from the author in the hopes I'd review it.
My Rating: 5+ stars
CROSS WAVES by Amanda Uhl is the second book in the Mind Hackers paranormal romantic suspense series. Geneva Erickson and Rolf Jorgensen are strong and capable protagonists in this series set mostly in Cleveland, Ohio with forays into Chicago, Illinois and various locations in Arizona. Geneva has a psychic talent that is off the charts and capable of killing others. Rolfe is a psychic hacker with a deadly secret. Can these co-workers learn to work together when Rolf’s sister Julia goes missing? Can they even trust each other? Who is the kidnapper and how did he or she know that Julia was in Arizona?
Geneva and Rolfe are compelling characters and definitely individuals that you can root for. They felt three-dimensional and did distinct flaws that made them feel relatable. Their motivations seemed believable and were well-drawn. Despite their lack of depth, the secondary characters enhanced the story. The dynamic personalities meshed well within the context of the story line.
The book’s premise brought a fresh perspective to the paranormal elements. The world-building was clear. The plot has lots of twists and turns, the stakes were high, and the action was fast-paced making this a page-turner. Themes included childhood tragedies, relationships, friendships, kidnapping, murder, family dynamics, love, secrets, lies and much more.
Overall, this was suspenseful and entertaining read with great characters, lots of action, and a powerful ending. If you enjoy well-written paranormal romantic suspense novels, then I recommend checking out the series. This was the first book that I have read by this author, but I am looking forward to reading more in this series.
Thanks to Backlit PR and Amanda Uhl provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via Net Galley and the opportunity to provide an honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way. Publication date was October 19, 2020.
I’ve never read this author before, and I was eager to see if I had found a new author to watch. I started reading and I was immediately drawn into the story. While I’m not a huge fan of the protagonists hiding things from each other, it didn’t bother me too much in this story. I liked both of them, and I really liked the plot of the story. I didn’t need to have read the first book, but now I really want to. Add to that, I’m so anxious to read the next one with Nonna making me want to! Who’s Nonna? Read the book and find out. Highly recommend! I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
This is the first book by this author that I have read. It has all the elements of romance, science fiction and fantasy with exciting action. I thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining story and can't wait to read the next one. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.
