This was quite the second chance love story, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I felt as though it should have been longer though :(
It's worth the read~
Short story involving second chance love. Hot and steamy read.
Alexandria and Brody were in a relationship all through college and medical school for him, nursing school for her. When Brody gets his residency in Chicago, Alex knows she'll never see him again.
So she moves out to the East Coast to live on the beach. When her mom gets sick, Alex comes home to Wyoming to take care of her. Now that her mom died, she's staying in Wyoming. She bought a house and is turning it into a B&B, working there when she's not working at the Clinic in town.
When Brody comes to town 6 years later its pouring outside. So he stays at the new B&B rather than fight the rain. But both of them are shocked to see one another after all these years.
The attraction and chemistry is still there, probably stronger than before. Only Alex knows not to get attached this time, because he won't be staying.
Coming home to Alex is exactly what Brody needed to be able to understand what's important in life. After spending several weeks together he comes to a major decision. He needs her more than he wants Chicago. So he applies for a job in her Clinic, then he shows up surprising her with flowers. Then he proposes in front of everyone she works with. He wants to make her his wife and grow old loving her forever.
A sweet story.
The Beaches of Cheyenne is quite a short story, I think I'd call it that rather than a novella. Despite it being a very quick read, it was still enjoyable and I liked seeing Alex and Brody rekindle their romance. As I say this is very short and it's for that reason that I don't give it more stars. I assume that this is a start to a series and I think it works very well like that. I'd be interested to see where the following books go, I hope that they will be a bit longer and develop the storylines further.
I'm not really sure what 'The Beaches of Cheyenne' in the title and referred to in the story was about. I've googled and there is a song by that name apparently, I'm sure that there is some significance and perhaps if you know the track you might understand. Perhaps the author could have added some explanation for those of us that haven't a clue?
I'd like to see what's next in Cannon Creek and I'll be keeping an eye out for more.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
