Gah! I was so excited about this book, but it ended up being so underwhelming and not what I had expected. The fact that it took me a while to finish this one and not only because I was busy in general, but because it took me a while to actually get into this book. The characters really did not have any personality, and were just okay overall. To be honest, I was expecting a slow burn kind of romance which is just up my alley, but this one turned out to be more of an insta love. I don’t have anything against insta love, it’s just not really my cup of tea. However, the romance is clean and the plot is not complex so it might be an easy read for some.

I’m going to be honest. This is a teen insta-romance romance pretending to be a pair of twenty-something adults, one of which is a widower with a 4-year old kid. It’s not a bad thing. It’s a cute awkward, whirlwind romance full of mishaps and drama. A perfect fluff read to snuggle up with on a cold and grey day. All you need is a cup of tea and you’re set.

Charlotte is a widowed mother of a 4 year old, working as a waitress. She likes to shop on Tuesdays because she prefers the music played that day and can avoid all the mean old ladies who live in town.

Ian is a Hollywood superstar hiding out in his stepfather's grocery store as he licks his wounds of being left at the alter and tries to find himself...while working as a bag boy. lol

Fate brings him together with Charlotte in the alcohol aisle on a Sunday as she tries to avoid a horrid old lady from town. It's pretty much love at first sight for both of them.

If you are looking for a swoon-worthy romance this one is a perfect read! This book is based on a younger crowd, but overall a cute story. This book is well written and a quick read! Charlotte is so awkward it makes it impossible not to love her. And Her and Ian are perfect for one another.

The description of Love in the Aisles drew me right in. It had such a fun meet cute start, but then quickly became a DNF for me. He is freshly heartbroken, yet a week into his new job. he's in love again? They went from zero to all over each other so quickly I was no longer routing for them.

Thank. you to NetGalley for the ARC for an honest review.

A very sweet, clean romance. There was so much second-hand cringe that I had to put it down a few times and there were a a few plot points that we're introduced then never addressed. Some situations really stretched the ability to suspend disbelief but it was an overall enjoyable story.

OMG! SO SWEET
I love the storyline because it was so refreshing and hilarious, we get to know Charlotte, a 29-year old widow in a small town where her husband was a hero and since she arrived they treat her like scum because she was not enough. We also met Ian the new bag boy at the marketplace, however, Ian is nonetheless a superstar in Hollywood with a broken heart.
The relationship between them is so cute and how Ian began to fall in love with Charlotte. Wishing to settle in the small town with her and her son, but Hollywood and his fame are coming for him!!

This book surprised me bc I wasn't expecting to be such a fun quick read!

I received this book complimentary from NetGalley but all opinions are my own.
This was really cute though I thought the plot points were a bit basic. I also am over the whole simple secret being kept from the other person. I didn’t like that Charlotte didn’t stand up for herself but I did like Charlotte and Ian as characters. They were sweet and kind. I also loved the epilogue. I love getting a more rounded out version of the story

When Hollywood Hunk Ian Tate is dumped at the altar he escapes to his parent’s in the small town of Sunrise Valley for a break before his next movie starts. Ian changes not only his appearance but also his name in order to hide his famous identity. He never planned on meeting Charlotte Dawson, the beautiful and sweet single mother who seems out of place in the Georgia town. Outsider Charlotte Dawson married Sunrise Valley’s most eligible bachelor, upsetting most of the town and creating enemies out of the town’s older population. When he dies of cancer, Charlotte decides to stay in the small town, anyways, despite the daily bullying she endures. Their chemistry is instant and soon Ian’s secret is getting too hard to keep.
I blew through this one, knocking out 60% of the book before I looked up for a snack break. Their chemistry was instant and bot characters were relatable and likeable. The only thing keeping this from being a solid 5 star romance for me, was the sometimes unrealistic “fluff”. I am not a fan of the cheesy, overly sappy romance type in real life or in books so that opinion is 100% a personal one. Granted there wasn’t too much of that in here and if you’re a true romance fan you’ll probably love all of the sweet moments peppered throughout the dialogue!
This is a clean, instant love romance that will work as the perfect palate cleanser after a heavier book!

Such a cute story!

We are introduced to single-mom Charlotte and her adorable son while on a last minute grocery store run for fruit rollups. While there, Char meets Ian Cleary who is working at the store. While trying to get away from the gorgeous "bag man", Charlotte leaves a lasting impression.

While Ian tries to swoon an accident prone Charlotte, he is dealing with the aftermath of being left at the alter in a Hollywood style wedding. Will Ian Cleary, who is really Ian Tate the award winning actor, choose to return to California or stay in the little town he is slowing coming to love?

The premise for this sounded so *me*, but, unfortunately, it was kinda too much of an insta-love story and felt too unrealistic? I know it's fiction, but...Ian is an Academy Award winning actor - he only won the award the previous year - but suddenly his tan is gone, his natural hair color returns, and no one can recognize him? If he was a lesser-known actor, I could believe it, but he's in magazines right in town. And I get it, it's a small Southern town, but I don't know, I don't really buy the idea that southerners hate people from the north that much. Along with that...why would the entire town have a fit because an adult woman went out and celebrated with her sister for her birthday? Leaving her child with a babysitter/her mother-in-law? What is so scandalous about that? Charlotte has been a widow for several years, but I guess she's never allowed to do anything but wear mourning clothes for the rest of her life. It just felt really extreme. That and Ian's ex is a bleach-blonde Hollywood socialite named Brittany. It was a bit much and really pulled me out of the story. There were definitely some funny moments though! If you can suspend disbelief enough, I can definitely see this becoming someone else's favorite.

I'm not a big fan of insta-love stories, which is the main reason I didn't really get into this book. Ian and Charlotte meet twice, don't have a real conversation and seem to be instantly in love. I never really felt invested in their relationship because to me it seemed to simply be based on "love at first sight" and not on liking and respecting the other person (which they seem to do but they just instantly fall in love which seems strange).
In somewhat the same vein is the whole tone of the book. It reads a little like a high school romance even though the characters are almost 30. Maybe the whole story would work better if the protagonists were in their late teens or really early twenties but both of them seemed rather immature for their age.
So overall I unfortunately wasn't a big fan and can't really recommend it based on the way the characters fall in love without a solid basis and are written more with the personalities of young adults.

Firstly I would just like to say a very big thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
If you are a fluffy rom-com, clean cute romance lover, then you will really enjoy this book - I did!!
Charlotte is a young mum who is widowed and in the town where she lives there are mean old gossips that won’t leave her alone. Then she meets Ian and they are both instantly smitten with each other.
Even though the story was a little bit predictable, I still loved everything about it. It’s a very heartwarming book that will keep you wanting what’s best for Charlotte all the way through to the end.....

Review:

Charlotte has not had an easy life... her parents were absent, her beloved husband passed away too young, and now she’s just made a fool of herself in front of the new and very cute employee at the grocery store. First, hiding in the liquor aisle when alcohol sales aren’t even open for the day, then rushing out of the shop so quickly that you knock over a DVD rack, then your son pees right on the floor. Definitely not the best day.... or maybe not such a bad day after all. Ian, the new man in town, has definitely taken a liking to Charlotte, despite all of her quirks, and this easy-reading romantic comedy shows just how many quirks Charlotte Dawson really has. Plus, he’s secretly a movie star!

Love in the Aisles is set in small-town Georgia, and as someone who grew up in one of these small towns, I could definitely relate. Everyone is always in your business and nothing is ever a secret for too long. The town characters felt very real to life. Where it fell a little flat for me was the main characters. Charlotte, who has done so much in her life to ensure she’s providing for herself, her sister, and her son, seems to fall apart when approached by anyone in town and turns into nothing but a blushing mess in front of Ian. And I know that Ian is supposed to come across as charming, but he felt a little creepy to me. He was way too familiar with pet names, meeting the family, showing up at her home, it all happened very fast. However, overall the story was cute, the writing was great, and I think most people who love rom-coms will really enjoy Love in the Aisles.

Charlotte meets Ian in the local supermarket where he is working. He can't wait to meet her again, but he is keeping big secrets from her, so what will happen when she finds out the truth?

A great read - I liked how it is told from both of their points of view.

The book for readers who love Hallmark movies!

Widow Charlotte Dawson was at the grocery store with her son Jake playing hide-n-seek to avoid Ruby Pearl who was the leader of the Sunrise Valley’s gossipy old ladies AKA GOLs who always put her down because she had married Jonah, the town’s golden boy. Charlotte almost ran down Ian Cleary who was the new bag boy, so she ran out of the store to avoid him. Little did Charlotte know that Ian was movie star Ian Tate hiding out in Sunset Valley after his fiancé left him at the altar staying with his mom and stepdad.

This a romance that would make a perfect Hallmark movie because you have a movie star who changed his looks and a widow that the GOLs pick on because they think she broke up Sunrise Valley perfect couple.

Meet Charlotte Dawson: widow, mom, sister, waitress, and enemy of the GOL. What’s not to love about the main character in this cute romance? Everything, according the the Gossiping Old Ladies of Sunrise Valley. Enter Ian (Cleary) Tate. From his initial run in with Charlotte, he’s smitten.

This romance was one I couldn’t put down. Normally, I enjoy a bit more lust in my romances, but the ease with which Heather Van Fleet and Jessica Calla guide you through the relationship between Charlotte and Ian make you forget all about it. There is so much spark and charisma between the two characters you can almost feel it. I even felt a flutter once or twice. Ian has a way with words and I found myself wishing I was his one and only “Sweetness.”

I loved that the heroin in this book was a widow and single mom working a blue collar job and was able to snatch the movie star with her heart and grace. Watching Charolette gain confidence and sticking up for herself made my heart warm almost as much as reading about her snagging Ian.

I will say this book was a bit on the cheesy side and slightly predictable but I loved it non the less. Highly recommend Love in the Aisles to anyone looking for a heartwarming, light read that will keep you flipping pages and cheering Charlotte on! 5/5 stars for me!

Thanks for the opportunity to read and review! #netgalley #loveintheaisles

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Southern hospitality turned into hostility when Charlotte Dawson married Jake, the hero of Sunrise Valley. Accused of breaking up his previous relationship, Charlotte had to put up with the constant judgmental looks from the townspeople. However, things got much worse after Jake died, leaving Charlotte alone with their son and her sister. Things change when Charlotte meets Ian, the newest employee at the local grocery store. He doesn’t seem to mind her clumsiness and he’s super attractive. Charlotte starts to consider being in a relationship again, but she struggles to ignore the harsh insults from the townspeople. Not to mention, Ian has secrets of his own, like the fact he’s a famous actor who ran away from Hollywood…
The premise of this book sounded adorable so I couldn’t resist reading it! Charlotte is a widowed young mom, just trying to get by. Unfortunately, the GOLs (gossipy old ladies) won’t leave her alone. I loved Charlotte’s character development; she’s come a long way from playing hide-and-seek in grocery stores! Ian is also a great character and he really helped Charlotte get her life back on track. As much as I loved this adorable duo, there were some things that bothered me. Charlotte is definitely a klutz, but I think it’s a bit overdone in this book. The number of incidents she has is a little excessive. It was also a total insta-love which I’m not completely against but it felt like the characters saw each other for two seconds and fell for each other immediately. Other than that, this was cute and I enjoyed it!
I’d recommend it to rom-com lovers who like fluff with a bit of angst! This is pretty much a clean romance (nothing sexual besides a cheating reference and minimal language) so if you’re a clean romance lover then check this out!

DNF (a rarity for me) at 20%. The concept was fine, the writing was fine, but the characters were painfully one-dimensional and the setting unrealistic (I lived in Georgia for almost 8 years) and resorting to stereotypes of “Southerners hate northerners” to create context for the entire story. I even scrolled ahead and read snippets from further along in the book to see if I could at least know I’d get hooked eventually but unfortunately, no such luck. Just not for me.
