Thank you so much to the publisher and net galley for sending me a copy of this book. I love Scarlett Hopper books and this one did not disappoint!
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. What a great story. If you love romance this is a great mood lifter story.
Eu gostei bastante do livro.
As good as the first one. A nice book, but nothing extraordinary. I would recommend it though and I would give a try to the authors future works.
This book wasnt for me. The entire plot revolves around a pregnancy, which is not a trope I enjoy. The blurb doesnt mention it which I think is a big mistake since its often a Marmite topic in romance novels. I don't know if it was solely down to my lack of interest in the main plot or not but this book was slow. It had no pace or intrigue. And the plot outwith the pregnancy was dull. The romance was kind of meh and it was more of a close friendship than a relationship. I loved Owen's character (the books saving grace really) and I initially really liked Lottie but once the story progressed and after her actions in the later chapters I just couldnt enjoy reading her. The writing itself was great and there were some really funny moments so I'd definitely pick up another book by this author, maybe even within this series but this one was not for me and I think really missed the mark for a romance novel since it had very little romance.
I enjoyed this book it’s so funny, a true chic lit book through and through. All of the characters are brilliant and just the type of friends you’d want to have. It’s light hearted, funny, easy to read and it made me cry. What more could you ask for from a book of this genre? If you want to cuddle up and read chic lit then you must read this!
Lottie Night recently moved back to London after following her long term boyfriend up to Edinburgh. She found out that he’d been cheating on her for quite a while, even before she left London behind to be with him. Just before she left though she managed to get a little bit of revenge on him by selling off some of his expensive electricals such as his new TV and stereo and gave the money away to a homeless man.
Lottie moved back to Notting Hill to be closer to her cousin and her friends, as she hoped to lick her wounds and get her life back on track. She has been lucky enough to get her old job back as a pharmacist, as her boss hadn’t gotten around to replacing her. Just as she thought things will get back to normal she discovers that she is pregnant setting her in to a tizzy of how she is going to be a single parent along with worry about loosing her job.
She decides that she is going to keep the news of her pregnancy to herself for now as she feels she can’t telling her friends as they are busy with their own lives. Besides she’s got plenty of time to tell them before she’ll start to show.
One afternoon Lottie meets up with her cousin and their other friends for a late lunch at their local hangout. A lot has changed in the time that she was in Edinburgh her cousin had managed to make more friends and now had the perfect boyfriend. While they were having their lunch they introduce her to Owen Bower. Lottie could tell that Owen likes her but she shoots him down she’s not ready to get back out there, especially now she’s pregnant.
When their food turns up Owen notices that Lottie starts to look a bit green around the gills and she discretely runs off to the ladies. When she steps back out Owen is waiting for her and he know her secret. He remembers his mother being like that around certain foods when she was pregnant with his younger brother.
Lottie swears him to secrecy and says that she will tell every one when she’s ready to tell them. Owen says he’ll keep her secret and before he knows it, he offers her his friendship which she is grateful for.
For months Owen keeps her secret and he becomes the only person that she can rely on. He goes with her to her doctors and hospital appointments. He keeps trying to persuade her to tell her family and friends about the pregnancy along with telling her ex boyfriend but she just refuses too. However when she does tell her ex boyfriend he doesn’t want to know anything or be a part of the babies life. Meaning Lottie ends up relying on Owen even more.
Even though Lottie and Owen become closer and closer Lottie keeps pushing Owen away. After all he’s not the babies father and he has his own life to live, but he still sticks by her side.
Eventually all of her family and friends find out about her being pregnant after she takes a bad fall at their local hangout. They are all shocked that she didn’t tell them all sooner. Everyone agrees to help and support Lottie and the baby for as long as she needs them.
All the while Owen keeps by her side and in spite of his telling her he wants to be with her she thinks he’s ruining his life. She does everything she can to make him go out on dates by signing him up on dating websites.
Eventually Lottie and Owen do become a couple but even though she knows she loves him, her doubts about their relationship keep making her push him away. She keeps telling him that she should be bringing up her child on her own. How much longer will Lottie keep pushing Owen away before he gets fed up and finally does leave her?
This book is the story from Never Now, only from Lottie and Owen's standpoint. This is their story. Lottie leaves her scum ex-boyfriend and moves to Notting Hill, and quickly gains a great group of friends. She meets Owen, who finds out her big secret by chance. It's so great to see a love story develop. There were certainly a few times that I was driven crazy by this story and wanted to throw my kindle across the room, but this was well-written and ultimately, I thought it was a great story. Read Never Now first! And then get this book!
Couldn't get into this one. It had the makings of being a great story though. I just struggled a bit.
Late Love is about Lottie and Owen, though it doesn’t HAVE to be read in order, you get so much more committed to everyone if you start at book 1 - Saint Street.
I’m so excited to be back in the saint street world! These books and characters are utterly adorable!
I love how all three book have a coinciding timeline, so if you’ve read book one you know everyone already and in a round about way, you know or hint at what’s going on from the other books.
Lottie is a really wonderful independent, strong girl who can handle everything thrown at her.
Owen is a giant goofy, sweet heart who is carefree and tender.
I loved reading this sweet, down to earth fun loving story.
Owen is a Graphic designer and a member of a band with his friends. Lottie is a Pharmacist who just caught her boyfriend cheating. Owen and Lottie hang around with the same group of friends. Lottie has a secret and Owen is the only one that knows she is pregnant. The pregnancy definitely bonded these two in ways they never knew possible. I enjoyed This book. What I enjoyed most about this book was how they built the relationship slowly. Owen was madly in love with her but she took her time. Lottie was definitely in denial and didn’t want to burden Owen with a baby. I truly Enjoyed this love story.
First, I didn’t realize this was part of a series when I picked it up. I did feel a little lost at times, but I was able to make sense of the story. The beginning was confusing because there were so many characters.
I didn’t like the main character. She felt selfish and underdeveloped.
I also didn’t like the writing. It felt morel like YA than NA.
I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
The blurb gave me real high hopes, but it was only satisfactory, the book was not as gripping as the blurb. The author has done justice to the writing, the flow is lush. But I couldn’t help but be slightly disappointed.
ARC Review
Late Love is a book that show us a real-life story of love.
Lottie, who just broke up with her boyfriend, soon finds out about something that will change forever.
Lottie and Owen start as friends, Owen is always there for her, helps her. And with time, their friendship changes into something more, love.
I loved that the book shows a realistic perspective of love story that can actually happen in real life.
For me this book is light, interesting, heartwarming and easy to read. I loved the way the author built the relationship between the characters, it was on point, not too slow and not too fast.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was the first book I have read by this author and I’m so glad I decided to try it. The story was well written, fast-paced, and interesting. Charlotte “Lottie” Night broke up with her boyfriend and moved back home, only to find out she is pregnant. She meets Owen Bower who is a friend to some of her friends she hangs out with. She’s not ready for another relationship but feels a strong attraction for Owen. She isn’t ready to share her pregnancy with others, but Owen realizes it by some of her symptoms. He knows Lottie isn’t ready for a relationship but wants to be there for her during her pregnancy. Their friendship grows but so does their attraction to each other. Lottie is scared to commit because she comes as a package deal. She doesn’t want Owen to have regrets later. Can they overcome all their fears and have a future together? I enjoyed reading this book and will look for future books by this author.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was just okay for me, It felt very focused on the main character without any sub plots. Owen just seemed like too perfect of a boyfriend. It was good but not believable.
Thank you kindly to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for this review copy.

English Review:
3 / 5 stars
Late Love tells us the story of Lottie, a twenty-five year old girl who after a hard breakup with her one-year boyfriend Beck, she decides to return to London, where she remeets with her cousin Stana, who introduces her to Owen, a guy who quickly Lottie finds herself wanting to spend more and more time with. But, after a couple of weeks back to her old life and trying to forget about Beck, Lottie finds out she´s pregnant.
What I really loved about this story and what dragged me to it in the first place, was the topic of it all: a young woman dealing with an unwanted pregnancy and all the consequences and responsabilities a baby has. We also see other problems such as the fear of not being a good mother, the trouble of being a single mother, etc. And, as I said before, even though I really admire that about this book because of that, I don´t it was precisely handled in a right way. I felt that there were a lot of things missing so Lottie´s pregnancy could feel more alive; and I think this book was focusing more on the effect the pregnancy was having on Lottie, rather than the pregnancy itself.
What I didn´t really like about this book was Owen. He was the perfect character, always focused on what Lottie and her baby needed; and I get that´s the type of person Lottie needed in her life in that moment, but I still wish Owen was a more real character, with problems and insegurities of his own, instead of (literally) just a side character to Lottie´s story. I didn´t really care about the other friends, and they have the same issue as Owen: they do tell us things about their pasts, but they don´t really have problems of their own (except, maybe, Reeve; but we barely see him in the story).
Another issue I had with this book was that there aren´t any subplots, so the story is just focused on Lottie and her pregnancy; which, not going to lie, was sometimes rather boring to read, and made me have to stop reading between times because there would be chapters where nothing interesting will happened.
In conclusion, Late Love is a real story about a unplanned pregnancy; and even though it wasn´t my favorite, I still think it was a good book to read, with a subject that isn´t really handled among books.
Reseña en Español:
3 / 5 estrellas
After reading about Owen and Charlotte (Lottie) in Never Now, a book I thoroughly enjoyed, I was pleasantly surprised by the different perspective when seen through the two main characters’ eyes. Just to flag that this book can also be read as a standalone.
Lottie has returned to Notting Hill after she discovers that her boyfriend has been cheating on her and hopes to rebuild her life closer to family and friends. She meets Owen through her friends and finds herself attracted to him, yet events transpire to threaten a friendship let alone a possible relationship. However, Owen proves to be someone that she can rely on despite her personal dramas, but given her past, Lottie wonders whether she can ever trust him.
Whilst Lottie was definitely a troubled soul, with so much baggage, Owen’s character is difficult to not love. From the very first time he appears in the novel, he comes across as genuine, kind-hearted and someone that you would want to have around. Yet what adds to the depth of this story, is the support provided by both her cousin and her friends (and Owen’s friends). This is in no way contrived, so much so, that it easy to see why the story has continued into a series. A truly enjoyable read that will leave you thinking long after the last page has been read.
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
Slowburn romances aren't my usual cup of tea but I will not hesitate to recommend this reading.
the main female character felt VERY real, strong but vulnerable, and also funny. The development in it throughout history is palpable and even this felt at times like a personal discovery book (I'm not saying this as a bad thing, quite the contrary).
The only low points for me is that there really isn't much to say about our main male lead, and the writing could use a bit more polish because there were some words that were a bit overused.
“Anyway, the real reason I’m here is that I want to help you, Lottie. I know we aren’t exactly close, but it’s clear we get along. What’s also clear is you’re going through this alone and that can’t be easy on anyone. I know this might come off as weird or pushy. I’m not trying to put the moves on you or anything; I want to help.”
Charlotte “Lottie” Knight didn’t expect her world change drastically after she break up with her boyfriend, but it is. She’s a 25 years old pharmacist who was living her life without any planning, until she got pregnant. She decides to keep it in secret. The only one who knows about the pregnancy is Owen Bowers, a graphic designer and drummer of a band. Both have friends in common and actually at first they are not so close but then he starts to spend a lot of time with her earning her trust so she decides to tell him about the pregnancy. Their relationship is between the line of friendship and something else but neither of them dare to cross the limit. Owen is supporting to Lottie even if he is not the father of her child and Lottie is dealing with an emotional chaos. Their relationship is growing to a point of no return and Owen wants to take the risk but Lottie doesn’t...
𝐿𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝐿𝑜𝑣𝑒 is a sweet romantic, self-discover and realistic story. Lottie is a stubborn, strong and independent woman who is dealing with a new change in her life: a pregnancy. The book reflected the growing on the character; at first not knowing what to do, after that accepting her new rol as a mother. Owen had a great influence in her, being her rock supporting her unconditionally. He is so perfect: handsome, smart, generous, sweet, a loyal friend, and always a gentleman. So difficult no to fall in love with him. He was determinate de to get the girl because he really loves Lottie and the newborn, but Lottie had her insecurities and most of the time she was pushing him to do his life without worry about diapers and milk bottles. Fortunately she open her eyes and heard her heart. I love the transition of their love story. It was a slow burn but in the perfect point. Also I love to know about Stana, Ali, Emilia and Reeve.
ARC received from the Next Step PR. Voluntarily reviewing and all opinions are objective and my own.
I have been most looking forward to Lottie and Owen’s story after Never Now. I knew it’d be the best of the series and I was sooooo right. These two are everything. This book WRECKED me. I stayed up all night reading this book, unable to put it down, while the tears continuously streamed down my face. Just when I had a dry eye, it started up again.
Scarlett Hopper and her amazing writing seems to be the only books I take the time to quote in reviews, but this book has so many heart-string-tugging lines, I’d be quoting the whole book. The level of angst and heartbreak in this one was almost too much to handle. This book defines the word ‘angst’. I love slow-burn romance and these two are the epitome of slow-burn, angst, and all those wonderful other emotions.
Owen is literally the sweetest character from the beginning. I felt for the poor guy; he was really trying. Lottie bugged me. I have no actual complaints against the design of her character as it made sense, but her as a person bothered me. I wanted to reach through my screen and strangle her for being so dumb. She thinks she’s noble, but she’s missing right in front of her.
I can’t wait to see what next this author brings to us but for now, I’ll be healing from this amazing 6 star read.
