Chloe and Xavier are the perfect way to end this trilogy. She’s running from feeling anything and he’s stupidly playing games because he feels too much. But when Xavier sees the chance to make some headway with Chloe, even if it has to start out as a ruse, he’s all over it. Wading through the murky waters of past hurts and new awareness with these two made for a story I didn’t want to put down at all. And when Xavier shows just what a dumb man he can be, his determination to make it right melted everyone on the page and this reader at the same time. This was a fabulous way to give Chloe her happiness, along with the closure she desperately needed from her past so she can finally open her eyes to all that the future could be.
