Protecting His Pregnant Loverby Leslie North
Levon and Olive were opposites in high school. He’s a teen jock she’s the nerd coaching him in science as he’s fallen behind. Ten years later it’s all change at the school reunion he’s a Navy seal and she’s the ‘hot’ science teacher.
They have a hot one night stand. Seven months later he returns to start his first assignment since retiring to find Olive is very pregnant with his baby and she is the target of the drug deals . He must keep her and the baby safe and break the drugs ring infiltrating the small town.
Quick easy read. 3.5/5

I couldn't get into the storyline for Protecting His Pregnant Lover. I'm rating the book 2 stars it wasn't horrible but it wasn't the right book for me.
Leslie North consistently brings great characters and passionate romance to life. As a big fan of North's, her name provokes an automatic one-click from me. I am always entertained. Highly recommend.
Overall good book... Olive and Levon steaming up the pages in this book... An ex seal and a school teacher and one absolute hot night.. A great read
Protecting His Pregnant Lover by Leslie North is the first book in the Southern Soldiers of Fortune series. This is about Levon and Olive. They are older now, but back in high school, they couldn't be more different. They knew each other because they were lab partners. She was smart and he was the football jock. Life moved on for both of them, but suddenly they find themself seeing each other after 10 years. Levon is a Navy SEAL and Olive is a science teacher in town. The chemistry is sexy and hot, but Levon is leaving again, and the chance of a real relationship is out of the question...or is it....
Overall another fantastic read by Leslie North, she has an astonishing way of telling a story that you can get right into the book.

It was meant to be your first undercover you just didn’t expect your lover to be seven months pregnant. Earlier Levon had gone to his school reunion where he had bumped into his old school crush. Olive has changed in all these years & he can’t believe that he is with her now.
He has come back into town on a job not knowing that Olive is pregnant and he will do anything to keep them safe. He knows that he has to keep his eye on the real reason that he is back in town but he knows that they will always come first. But what happens after the investigation is finished? Will Olive want him to be part of their lives? A good read. I was lucky enough to receive a copy from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
This is a great start to a new series. From start to finish this story pulls you in and keeps you engaged in wanting to make sure things work out for the kids and Olive as their teacher.
WOW! What a story. Protecting His Pregnant Lover is another fantastic story by Leslie North. I liked the characters and enjoyed the romance. Nice job on the writing.
From the description I was expecting a slightly different dynamic between Olive and Levon in which they talked more about how they felt about one another in high school - the backstory is there, but mostly provided in the form of the characters' thoughts rather than dialogue. The crime/mystery part of the story was a bit on the thin side and for someone who is supposed to be so smart Olive behaves really stupidly and basically undermines Levon's work. And then she gets mad at him (and tries to cut Levon out of the baby's life) when he calls her on it. This made it difficult to both like her and root for them as a couple.
This was my first Leslie North book and I'd say I'd read one again. I love how she created her characters, their world and the conflict they were faced with. Both of them really. It wasn't overly drawn out where you were trying to get to the juice but didn't go to fast where you weren't able to connect with each character and understand their pull and feelings for each other. It carried just enough angst and wasn't overly done. Plus, I'm a fan of accidental pregnancy reads and this one is one I would read again.
4 stars for me.

Leslie North has always been one of my guilty pleasures. - easy to read, always satisfying books. I was pleased to see her venture into the Seal/Soldier of Fortune books. Though the title is not my favorite the book delivers an enjoyable read you can easily read in one sitting. She has a knack to provide a detailed view of her main characters - their thoughts and interactions are realistic. I liked the opposite attracts aspect of the book, learning there were actually more parallels in their lives than differences. It was endearing to hear how they perceived their own interactions as teenagers and then as adults. You grow to like both main characters and root for them in the end. There are a few secondary characters you hear about briefly, and a suspense that wrapped up a little too quickly (at least on details) but I greatly enjoyed having an epilogue to see where the main characters ended up. If you haven't read Leslie North this gives you a great introduction. If you are a fan - you will not only like this one but look forward to future titles in the series.
Leslie North does it again!
I love North’s books as they are easy to follow, have a storyline that doesn’t lose its way and they have an ending. They are the perfect books to read when trying to wind down or escape life for a few hours.
This book was based on a school teacher and ex seal who knew each other in high school and come together thanks to a mission the ex seal is on. Will he protect Olive when he realises the secret she’s been keeping?
Good read. There are several items that make this story interesting. I try not to leave spoilers, so there is a definite need in education to address learning disabilities, this story touches on this in a few ways. There is angst, drama, steam and romance, along with the terrible cover choice and title. Add to your TBR list, as this is a quick, easy read with a little bite.
My rating: 2 stars! I really wish authors would stop having their characters jump into bed in the first chapter. There is no chance for the reader to invest in any sort of character development before they hit the sheets! I really couldn't find any connection between Olive and Levon. Sorry, i wish I could have a better review but this novel did nothing for me.
I would like to thank the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review
3.5 stars - This was a quick, well-written read that had lots of enjoyable elements. It was a nice that Levon (such a great name) and Olive knew each other in high school and reconnected as adults. The suspense was light, the chemistry was great, but both characters were a little too introspective. It bogged down the story's forward momentum.
I’m a sucker for a surprise baby in a romance but I felt a little disconnected from Levon and Olive’s story. The beginning caught me but it just couldn’t hold on. I’m usually a fan of Leslie North but this one just didn’t hold my interest.
3 stars.
Enjoyable and entertaining read. Olive and Levon (where does a name like that come from?) we’re at school together and meet again at a high school reunion, have spectacularly hot sex and then he goes off on a mission and they don’t meet for 7 months. When they do, he finds out she’s pregnant.
He’s working a case in her HS tracking a drug gang and they work together, have sex together and finally agree they want to be together.
It was A pleasant, undemanding and enjoyable read. Perfect for passing a couple of hours. 3 stars.
Levon has just one more SEAL mission to complete before he leaves the Navy behind. Whilst attending an interview for a security firm he decides to head over to his high school reunion. After struggling with dyslexia during his time at high school he doesn't have too many fond memories of the place except for Olive - his lab and study partner.
Olive the only reason she's headed to the reunion is the hope of seeing Levon. Hoping that he'll see past her brain and discover the sexy grown-up woman she has become. Both a little emotionally unsure when it comes to each other, however, the sparks fly when they go to grab a drink together. Spending the night together before Levon heads off for his mission.
Seven months later and Levon is back in the area on a security detail for his new job. Looking to find out what is going on with the local gangs and how they are recruiting high school students. Bumping into Olive he discovers not only is she pregnant with his baby. but her students are involved and she's in danger. Wishing to protect her they work together to find out what is happening with this gang.
Was this just a one-night stand? Olive is prepared to raise the baby on her own, but is Levon willing to put her and the baby first in order to be together?
Both of these two were into each other during high school but each was fearful of the other one. Levon Asher was always big and muscular but was also dyslexic. Olive Owen his lab partner was smart and had been moved up two grades. She was the one that discovered his dyslexia and they would meet in the library where she would help with ways to overcome his problem. Each went different ways when graduating. He went into the Navy and became a Seal. She went to college and is a teacher of science. She is also back at the same school they both went to.
Now ten years later they both meet at the reunion and decide to leave and have their own night together. In the morning he leaves for he is to deploy soon. Asher is now working for a security firm and is back in his home town working on a case with the police on a gang and drugs. He just so happens to run into Olive and discovers that she is seven months pregnant yes with his baby. She has also been threatened by the gang to stay out of their business, so he takes her into his protection. It is here where the story really takes off and the two of them work together well at times but at other times not so well.
The story is good and the characters are also good. See if they can make it work or if they blow it up like s lab experiment.
3 quick and easy stars.
I picked up this book last night because of the description and read it in a couple of hours last night. This is a perfect between big reads book. Something to cleanse your palate after something more intense. The author did a great job building the plot for the book in the beginning.
We have two solid main characters, that sadly spend a little bit too much time in their heads for me. They both have a lot of insecurities and while they have know and crushed on each other since high school they are both hiding their true feelings out of fear. So when they meet back up at a reunion they have a little fun between the sheets. Levon is leaving the next day and Olive (love this name by the way) is just happy to have one night with her high school crush. Fast forward 7 months when Levon comes back for work to find his high school crush, and best one night stand pregnant with his child and in danger!! He immediately goes all protective alpha on her and that is where the story gets going.
In this case, I actually like our heroine a little more than the hero. I know, that doesn't happen often. But it did. She is a strong, extremely smart and actually pretty logical heroine. Like I said she spent way to much time in her head, but we are females, that is what we do.
Our hero was definitely protective and in some parts came off as alpha, but he was very insecure and I definitely struggled with that. I love my guys to be all caveman and never doubt themselves.
But in remembering that this is a quick read, and rating it compared to other quick reads it was enjoyable and author kept my attention through the entire thing.
