I liked the premise of this book but not the execution. Liv’s husband dies suddenly and she finds out that not only was he having an affair, his will left their wedding planning business to his mistress, Savannah as well as Liv. What a slap in the face. While I loved Liv and Savannah’s story and blossoming friendship, I could have done without all of the side stories. There was way too much going on and I feel like we never got anyone’s full, true story. I think it would have been better split I to multiple books with each set of characters being the focus of one book.

This book had an interesting premise and I was excited to read it. Sadly, the story did not live up to the expectations, and that might not be on me. I found myself struggling to connect and get into the book.

Such a cute book! I read it a long time ago and forgot to review it. I enjoyed all of the characters and the different POVs. It was an easy read and I was entertained the whole time.

The book started off a bit slow, but it didn’t take long to be invested in these characters. This was such a warm hug of a book!

Wow what a cute cute story! AH I jsut adored the characters and the setting so much!
It’s so sweet and swoon worthy! Loved the multiple storylines but I think that Liv was my favorite character. I loved how positive she was and badass. Faced with a shitty situation she tried to make the most of it all..

As someone who hates Love Actually, it’s funny how much I loved this Love Actually-esque book. The rom-com intertwines the love stories of various couples in New York City and kicks off with a doozy: a wedding planner dies and leaves the business to his wife and his mistress. I laughed. I cried. I cursed. I cheered. I would rather watch this every Christmas instead.

Didn’t love this one, it’s been on my shelf for years and finally got around to digging in. It was a dnf for me. I couldn’t connect with the characters and found the writing to be dry and not going anywhere. It dragged on for me so I didn’t finish it

It Had to Be You took the good parts of Love Actually and made it a book! I loved how the stories were delicately intertwined while featuring some of the best tropes. A fun and unique read!

First, I enjoyed this one. Love Actually-esque with a cast of characters. I loved all their stories. Buttttt, definitely pick up a physical or ecopy of this one and avoid the audiobook if possible!

DNF at 15%. Just was not keeping my interest whatsoever. I was even struggling to keep track of all the people. Was hoping for a fun, lighthearted romance but I don't think that's the case.

Liv Goldenhorn who runs a successful wedding planner business in New York with her husband. When he dies suddenly, he leaves his half of the business to his girlfriend. Say what?!
This was an interesting second chance love story with multiple storylines and POVs. It's slower paced but if you are into movies like Love, Actually - this one is for you!

This book was just sadly not for me! I was hoping for something different but it turned out to be something I was not expecting, which is okay and I'm sure someone else would love it!

This was cute, and quick. Some lovable characters and funny situations. Not a great deal of depth, but fun. This would be a very fun rom com movie!

I JUST SPENT THE LAST 30 MINUTES CRYING MY WAY THROUGH THE END OF THIS BOOK WHAT AN ABSOLUTE GOD DAMN DELIGHT??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love Actually vibes + wedding season + second chances + fake dating + real feelings + coming out + coming of age + growth and learning + grief + literally anything and everything else and oh my GOD I loved this so. I was a little concerned at first but I honestly didn't want to get out of the car when I got to work this morning because it meant I had to stop this book. I honestly took the long way home today so I had time to finish it.
My heart is bursting.

I loved The Bucket List, but I love Clark's departure from Women's fiction into an ensemble cast even more. The intertwined characters created satisfying little vignettes of love stories. Enjoyable and perfect to read during wedding season.

Imagine owning a business with your husband when he unexpectedly passes away and all of a sudden you find out that he has left his half of the business to his girlfriend! I loved the bucket list portion of it, i loved that Liv was able to get over this betrayal and offer a second chance. A great RomCom that left me wanting more.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher, for this free review copy.
This one started out so slow for me, but it did make me appreciate the characters more! We got to know them so well, and their lives. While it took me awhile to get thru, I absolutely loved the ending and how it all came together!

I don't know why I waited so long to read this one. It turned out to be a compilation of love stories that come together beautifully in the end. The book opens with Liv's husband dying and leaving her to deal with their wedding planning business. She quickly finds out that not only did he have a mistress but that he also left part of the business to her as well. The story continues on from there as we get to know various couples as they meet and come together. There is a movie star, a playwright, a musical duo, a chef who is a single father and more.
While I liked some of the stories more than others, none of them really lost my attention. I wanted to find out what happened with each couple and where their journey would take them. There is so much diversity in the stories, each with their own issues, that it sometimes feels like Clark is trying to take on too much at once. I worried that it would be too difficult to keep up with everyone while the book jumped from one storyline to the next, but I soon found myself transitioning with ease and appreciating how the stories subtly came together by the end of the book. It reminded me of the movie Love Actually in some ways.
As Liv says in the book, "We're adults, with big, messy lives and big, messy hearts." Clark captures this beautifully. I love reading about real, messy love and this book delivers on that. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a book with characters who are flawed and who choose to grow. I will be looking to see what Clark publishes in the future.

This audiobook had a full cast, which I really enjoyed! There’s probably 10+ POV’s and I probably would’ve been incredibly lost without it. This book featured SO many topics from grief, infidelity, domestic abuse, racism, classism, homophobia, etc. It was like 10 novellas in one book and I think that’s where my disconnect was.

I was absolutely hooked from the synopsis and I definitely got Love, Actually vibes. I loved the cast of characters and how everything came together at the end. A perfect feel-good romance.
