Cute story about what it means to look for a find a best friend. I love the darling illustrations and found the story quite charming.

I loved the illustrations and the writing style of this book. It transported me back to the types of books I read as a child. I definitely love the theme of best friends and definitely think that I will be looking into this when gifting books to toddlers and elementary age children that I know!

Er, shall I be the party pooper here? This is a very warm-hearted look at a sad little bear who's feeling a bit down in the dumps until his father advises him to play outside and find a best friend. But once outside, said best friend is nowhere to be found – until, perhaps, the bear engages a few other animals in the hunt. The ending is obvious, and it's what all children will want to read and experience in real life, but (spoiler alert) you can't have five best friends. So this is a good and pretty look at cooperative play and such, but terrible at teaching the superlative. Three and a half stars, what with the bad grammar built into the concept.

Thanks for the opportunity to review this book. This children’s book is about searching for a best friend, but the main character actually finds multiple by the story’s end! He gets help from woodland creatures on his search, only to find that he’s made several new friends along the way. Short, crisp, and really cute designs. Appealing visually. Straightforward and to the point.
