I absolutely loved the illustrations in this book. They were gorgeous and complimented the writing well. I thought that the book may have been a bit too wordy for the average elementary schooler but that's not to say that they wouldn't enjoy it! The only other flaw was that even I couldn't find some of the pictures asked.
Sad to say I didn't take to this Where's Wally-styled adventure. The first two spreads I wasn't even sure if it was that format of book, or if we were really seeking things – we're told a chicken is missing its children, but not that we're supposed to wait before trying to find them. When we begin the search proper, it's to find very busy yet obviously digitally cut-and-paste sort of designs, with pretty much the same things to find in each and every one, which is a waste. Each diorama comes to us twice, as well, meaning we get a before and after in relation to the Easter Bunny's drop-off of chocolates. The incredible amount of detail to pore over as a result is one selling point here, but I still didn't like the job of spotting everything – the text was dry, the artwork unengaging and the whole felt too much of a chore. There certainly are better such search books to be found.
Very cute! Will definitely be reading this again especially as it gets closer to Easter. My 4 year old enjoyed it even though Easter is so far way. Thanks for the preview
Thank you for the opportunity to review this book. Absolutely smashed it out of the park with this Easter themed book! The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous and incredibly adorable. In addition, every other theme has a item search within the world, wherein the Easter Bunny has hidden things and the reader must find, for example 4 chocolate bars, or something like that. It is so cute!
