I was so anticipating this third book in the Scottish Trilogy Wild Wicked Highlanders and was not disappointed! The continuing stories of the MacTaggert brothers bring us to the eldest of the three, Coll, who also holds the title Viscount Glendarril. He and his brothers found themselves having to leave their highlands and enter London society due to an old agreement between their mother, Countess Francesca Aldress, and father, whereas they all needed to find "ladies" as wives before their younger sister marries. The brothers, Niall and Aden have found their wives, and now Coll has 4 weeks to find and wed a lady. After both enduring and running from perspective brides presented to him by both his mother and sister, Coll himself finds the woman he wants to marry. Unfortunately, she does not meet the standards his mother and London society as a whole see as a suitable bride. The actress, Mrs. Persephone Jones, has captured his heart and his protective instincts, which leads to interesting interactions between them. Coll has broken through her barriers, but he knows there is more to her story than she shares, as someone is obviously trying to kill her. The entire MacTaggert family finds themselves involved in sorting things out, which brings some unexpected results. The father of the family is introduced in this book, which leads me to wonder if there will be a prequel to this trilogy where we learn the full story of Angus and Francesca.. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martins Press for the opportunity. #NetGalley #HitMeWithYourBestScot

This has been an absolutely delightful trilogy. The antics of the three lairds as they set London on it's ear even as they challenged their mother's cherished beliefs will keep you rolling. The emotions that roil between the lines between the mother and sons, and the father and mother add the necessary color to take a story from good to great.
Time's running out for Coll, Viscount Glendarril. His brothers have found the loves of their life and their mother has acknowledged them. He needs to marry before his sister's fast approaching wedding day or lose his estates. His mother's choice of suitable brides leaves him cold and he's unable to find one of his own because his wild ways of scared the ladies and they shy away from him. What's a viscount to do?
When chance brings him to Persephone's rescue he knows she's the one for him but she's an actress and definitely not a suitable match for a viscount. Despite thumbing his nose at his mother's beliefs he does know his duty and seeks Persephone's help in making him more appealing to a lady of the ton while he seeks to protect her against the increasing attacks against her. We all know where this delightful romp is going; yes straight to Persephone's bed. All's wells that ends well and with a stroke of a pen Persephone becomes a lady in hiding, masquerading as an actress. The rest of course is history my fellow readers but there are a few interesting tidbits in the telling.
Perhaps the bar from the first and then the second book is set so high that while this is delightful on its own merits I fear it's not as fun as the earlier two which causes me to lower the rating just a tad.

Coll MacTaggert is a Highlander who lives in Scotland, but is also a Viscount because his mom is English. His mom left Scotland 17 years ago, but before she left made their dad sign an agreement. The agreement says that their three sons have to marry Englishwomen before the daughter does, or they will lose her monetary support. This is her way to make sure her sons will come see her in London because they will come back for their wives’ families occasionally.
Coll needs to find a wife, but is only interested in Persephone. She is an actress, but isn’t a proper lady. His mom is not okay with this, but he doesn’t care. Someone is attempting to kill Persephone so he stays with her at all times to protect her. She has secrets as well that play into all of this. While I liked the general plot line, this book felt like it was missing something. The chemistry or tension between the couple was not super realistic or believable.

I received this book for free in return for an honest review.

Coll McTaggert, Viscount Glendarril, is in England with his sister, brothers and, Mother to find her wife within 30 days! He misses Scotland and, is furious that his mother is forcing him, his brothers and, sister to marry within 30 days or, lose their inheritance!
He goes to a play and, meets one Miss Persephone Jones, a highly talented, beautiful actress. The problem is that, in this point in time, actresses are considered no better than loose women and floozies!!!
Coll, however, has never been one to back down from a fight and, he goes after this woman he is intensely attracted to. He is determined to have her, even if that means he will only have her in his bed.
Problem is that someone is after Persephone, she doesn't know why and, she refuses to tell him who she is or, who these people may be.
This book was a bit too wordy but, the storyline was fascinating, fun and, a thoroughly enjoyable love story of a woman just as fierce and courageous as the man who is determined to have her forever.

This is my first read by Suzanne Enoch so admittedly I'm reading the Wild Wicked Highlanders series out of order. But even so, I did not feel at any time that I was missing anything. I really loved Persephone Jones, she was an absolute breath of fresh air for a woman of the times. I mean, she was forward thinking and didn't faint whenever a man paid her any attention, like the "hot house flowers" of the London haute ton did in those days. And Coll was the quintessential Scottish alpha male who made me swoon.
I loved the bit of mystery that was woven through the story while reading about Coll MacTaggert needing to find himself an "English Lady" to wed per his mother's demands. I admit, I was put off my this ridiculous request she had made of her three sons, but perhaps when I go back and read the first two books, I'll get a better insight into that.
The dynamic between Coll and Persephone was perfect. She didn't back down to his brutish behavior, and he showed her in so many little ways just how much he cared for and respected her.
The ending was a little abrupt for me, I wished some loose ends had been cleared up and explained, but overall they got their happy ending and now all three brothers and their lasses can ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after.
Many thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for providing me with an advanced review copy of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

This is the 3rd book in the Wild Wicked Highlanders series, featuring the eldest MacTaggert brother, Viscount Glendarril. Because of an agreement between his parents seventeen years ago, he must marry an English woman before his younger sister’s wedding in a month’s time in order to keep the funding support to Aldriss Park, his home in Scotland. To defy his mother and to get her off his back, he declares to her that he will marry the famous actress Persephone Jones.
Coll is a big brawny mountain of a man who prefers fists to words. But he’s also honorable, responsible, and protective of the people whom he cares about. He sees Persephone for who she is underneath the many faces/roles she shows to public as an actress. She’s strong, intelligent, and independent, who sets out to pursue what she loves in life. When there are threats aiming at her life, she makes a deal with Coll that can be beneficial to both: he becomes her protector, and she teaches him how to court a lady.
There are mysteries, secrets, and surprised twists. I really enjoy the fun banter which made me laugh out loud a few times. I also love the wonderful family relationship of the MacTaggerts, who will always have each other’s backs, be supportive and protective of one another. Their sexy times are quite steamy 🥵, the story is fast paced and has a good flow. The mystery will keep you guessing throughout the book. Overall, I really enjoyed this light, fun, and entertaining read. I’d recommend this series if you love reading about men in kilts 😉.

What happens when you have a hot-headed and honorable Scot forced to marry any Englishwoman in four weeks and an independent and opinionated actress who’s life is in danger? You get trouble with a capital T.
Coll MacTaggert, Viscount Glendarril, is tired of all of the English hothouse flowers his long-lost mother parades in front of him. Many of them are afraid of him because of his size and lack of manners and the rest just want his title and money that goes with it. Now that his two brothers and sister have found the spouses of their choice that satisfy the agreement his parents drew up when they were children, it’s his turn to find a wife so he can keep his mother’s monetary support of his home in Scotland. But one night at the theatre, he meets the loveliest and most intriguing woman he has ever met. She calls herself Persephone Jones. He thinks she’s hiding something and he is determined to find out the truth by any means possible.
Mrs. Persephone Jones is the most famous actress in London. She has worked hard to be where she is by owning her own home with her own servants. Her own independence. Marriage is not in her future. Then she meets Coll MacTaggert, the rugged mountain of a man who is handsome, stubborn, and intelligent. He has become her protector to ward off the many men who profess their love for her after every performance. In turn, she will help him to find a wife. But her life is in danger, and Coll’s protection becomes more personal.
I love this captivating tale where this reader couldn’t wait to find out Persephone’s secret and who is trying to kill her. The chemistry between Coll and Persephone is instant and their clever and many times funny banter is entertaining. Coll’s respect for Persephone’s lifestyle is a nice change as he understands what her acting and her self-sufficiency mean to her. In turn, Persephone is a kind and charitable person who is sensitive to others’ needs and not harsh like others in her profession. Persephone’s theatre friends, her servants, and her volatile cat named Hades are a plus for the story. As well as the intimidating and noble MacTaggert family who are all unique on their own, but incredibly fierce when protecting their own.
If you enjoy a delightfully fast-paced historical romance with mystery, laughter, and family drama, give book 3 in the Wild Wicked Highlanders series a try.
Thank you to Ms. Enoch, St. Martin’s Press, and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

Hit Me With Your Best Scot
Book 3 in the Wild Wicked Highlanders Series
Rating: 3 stars
Thank you to the publisher for the ARC given through NetGalley for review. All opinions are my own.
Hit Me With Your Best Scot is the the third and final book in this series. This one tells the story of the eldest brooding Highlander brother Coll MacTaggert and the actress that steals his heart, Persephone Jones.
I will be upfront and say that of the three in the series this was my least favorite. I'm not a fan of when the leads know each other for less than a day and sexy times are happening. I enjoy more the slow pace of them getting to know each other and giving us situations of will they or won't they... Also, I feel that their relationship was more physical and not very much romance was involved.
I did like how protective Coll was of her, even when it was his own family making her feel less welcome. I loved Persie's independent spirit and how courageous she was to leave her family behind to protect herself from the future her parents wanted for her. She created this awesome persona to hide in plain sight.
This story also had a little mystery since Coll is investigate who is trying to hurt Persie.
I recommend this story to those who don't mind the insta-sexy times. Sadly, I would of liked to close off this series with a higher rating.

Love this series and all the characters, but Coll was my fave. Hiding backstage at the theater from his mother and her machinations, Coll MacTaggert meets Persephone Jones, the lead actress. They had one of those instant connections which I don't normally like because it's like the HEA is over too quick, but this was well-written with plenty of tension leaving you to wonder how in the world would this one would work. Coll is very protective of his loved ones and friends, so this carries over to Persephone right away. Each of the brothers in this series had interesting qualities, but Coll wanting to solve everything with his fists was adorable especially when Persephone taught him some restraint. Someone wants her dead and finding out who depends on the secrets she keeping, but never fear when the MacTaggerts come to the rescue. I loved meeting their dad finally, maybe there's another book there. Hmmm?

Hit Me With Your Best Scot is a delightful read. I had my reservations going into the eldest MacTaggert’s story because Coll was a lot to handle in his brothers’ books, but Suzanne Enoch showed him to be a wonderful hero without changing him into someone else. Coll is blunt, brash, and brawny, his keen mind hidden beneath the exterior he uses to fool people who don’t want to look deeper. He has no patience for the rules of society and even less for his mother’s demand that he wed an Englishwoman within the next month or lose the funding for their family’s home and tenants. To stop his mother from meddling, Coll claims he’s engaged to Persephone Jones, the famous actress. He doesn’t really intend to wed her, but Persephone is the first woman who actually makes Coll want something more. Her wit matches his own and sparks fly between the two immediately. And when he finds out Persephone is in danger…well, nothing will stop him from protecting the woman who is fast capturing his heart.
Persephone is taken with Coll from the start as well. The handsome, straightforward Highlander sees the woman she is instead of the roles she plays. Persephone is a self-made woman who carries a secret and I liked her right from the start. She’s a woman who isn’t afraid of going for what she wants and desire isn’t something she’s afraid of. She and Coll are incredibly well-suited despite their different stations. I was rooting for them to get their happily ever after but first Persephone has to survive the attempts on her life. I enjoyed watching Coll learn the pieces of her past though I don’t believe the mystery is all that, well, mysterious. What I enjoyed more was the love story. Coll and Persephone fit into each other’s lives perfectly and their banter made the pages of Hit Me With Your Best Scot fly by. I enjoyed watching Coll charm her household (especially her cat, Hades). And though I felt like the climax of the book was a bit rushed, I was still so charmed by the book overall that I can forgive the hurried wrap up.
Hit Me With Your Best Scot is the third book in the Wild Wicked Highlanders series but it can easily be read as a standalone. Coll’s family members all play supporting roles and man, did Enoch make me want a novella for his parents. The Earl and Countess Aldriss are flawed characters who have definitely made bad calls as parents and as husband and wife but they have an undeniable chemistry that makes me yearn for their story. All in all, Coll and Persephone’s book was energetic, exciting, and wholly entertaining.

Persephone Jones is a successful London actress who's not interested in marrying. She's content with the life she was forced to make for herself when she had to go into hiding. After an awful incident with her protector, Coll MacTaggert steps in to replace him. Coll, a huge stubborn Highlander, is being pushed by his mom to marry a proper English lady. He's not looking for love, just someone to marry so he'll get his inheritance. There's just something about Persephone beyond her beauty.
Hit Me With Your Best Scot has good pacing and dialogue with a little bit of mystery mixed in. I loved Persephone's personality and strength, and I'm a sucker for the grumpy one falls for the sunshine one so Coll fit in perfectly. I do not recommend reading this one as a standalone. I felt lost in the first two chapters, almost like it was the continuation of a cliffhanger from the previous book. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had all the backstory. Either way, read as a standalone or with the series, this is a great historical.

This is the first novel I've read by this author. Who could resist with this title? Also, I just love me those Highland book boyfriends!!!
This was an enjoyable read, and I loved the dialogue. Dialogue, I think, drives the mood of the scenes and the story! In this case, that's exactly what it did.
I will check out other novels by this author!
I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Hit Me With Your Best Scot (Wild Wicked Highlanders, #3) by Suzanne Enoch
WOW! This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Col and Persie's story...and what a story it is. We have suspense, attempted murder, hidden identities, lots of family drama, and loving and loyal family and staff, add in the theater also very strong H and h and lots of steam all getting us to a very happy ending.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Action-packed Easy-to-read Entertaining Funny Happily Ever After Page-turner Romantic Scary Steamy Wonderful characters

I really enjoyed the Macbeth tie in’s to this book! Being one of my favourite Shakespeare plays, the quotes scattered throughout this book were refreshing and added something to the story in a way I really enjoyed. The romance was steamy, and I liked how the characters weren’t hesitant in admitting their feelings to one another as you sometimes encounter in period romance. Overall I found this book witty, Persephone and Coll were enjoyable characters to spend time with who had genuine chemistry with one another. I also enjoyed the side characters and will definitely pick up the other books in the series to read more about the MacTaggert clan.

Suzanne Enoch has written another fantastic book! She writes so well that I can picture each scene in my mind as I read. Hit Me With Your Best Scot was so fun! Heroes like Coll that are the responsible protectors of the family and fall hard are delightful! How can Coll and Persie be together? Ms. Enoch found a way! Highly recommended entertaining book!
I received an advance reader copy through Netgalley. These are my opinions voluntarily given.

Definitely a good end to this trilogy! I loved the complexity of the plot and Ms. Enoch did not leave us wanting. I would recommended reading the books prior to this one, while this book can be read as, I personally feel like it's better when you have more of a background on the characters!

I absolutely loved this book. I laughed so hard at times while reading this. Coll is just wonderful. It’s his turn to find a wife he thinks he doesn’t really want, until he meets his match. Now he has to find out who wants to take Persephone away from him just when he’s found her.

An Entertaining Story.
Coll is the Highlander who is being forced to marry and Persephone the unsuitable actress to whom he is drawn when he escapes the company of his mother’s bride choices. A series of accidents aimed at Persephone lead to him protecting her rather than searching for a bride and he finds he has feelings for her like no other woman.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Suzanne Enoch is a hit or miss kind of author for me. She used to be one of my favorite writers years ago but her latest works don’t usually sit well with me. That’s why I haven’t read the two previous books in the trilogy and that was a mistake. Because you need to read the other books in order to get into the world of the McTaggert brothers.
Regardless of that fact, I must say that even if I liked this book, and it’ wasn’t more than a simple ‘like’, I found it at some points rather lazy. I loved the plot and the heroine, but the rest of it was meh. And I think the fault is in the way Suzanne Enoch portrays Coll, the main male character, and his brothers. It’s full of topics and stereotypes, and I wouldn’t have minded much if it weren’t for the fact that Ms Enoch has a vast experience writing Highlanders and she’s done it well in the past, but this time she just wrote stereotypes.
So the story revolves around an actress with a past who has someone threatening her life and a viscount who is a big mountain of a Higlhlander who is in want of an English wife. He needs to fulfill an agreement signed by his parents some seventeen years ago in order to receive the funds he needs for his lands from his mother. So Persephone and Coll meet and they make a deal; she will help him find a wife and in return he will be his protector. And then they fall in love.
Persephone is the best part about the novel. She’s a self-made independent woman who doesn’t need the support of a man and who is perfectly happy portraying strong female (and sometimes male) shakespearean characters in a theatre. And Coll is the ABC of a Highland born man. He’s huge, he’s strong, he’s stubborn and he has a huge sense of honor. But of course “I can read and write”. I mean he’s likable enough, he has a good heart and he’s gentle. But he’s constantly described as a brute, and more eager to talk with his fists than with words, and he of course despises the English and their ways. He’s reminding everyone of how uncivilized he is and how wild his childhood was… it gets boring after the third repetition of the facts. This character doesn’t deserve that! Of course he’s not the only one being described like that, his brothers and father also get the same treatment.
I can’t go into detail about the McTaggert family situation because it would spoil the entire trilogy, but I found the reasons for their parents to go their separate ways incredibly stupid. Let me only say this: she’s English, he’s a Highlander. That sums up the whole thing.
As for the romance aspect of it. I didn’t like how it started (a kiss out of the blue, and then a tryst, also out of the blue) but I liked very much how it evolved. So in the end, that side of the novel was alright.
I truly wanted to like this book better but it’s boring and lazy writing. It gets better by the last third of the book but I know I will forget about it as soon as I pick a new book to read. I expected more and better of Suzanne Enoch honestly, she wrote some of my favorite Highlander romances in the past after all. This time… NO.

**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.**
I knew that Coll was going to need a woman with a lot of backbone. He did not want to lose his lands but he did not want his mother to win either.
Enter stage left, actress extraordinaire, Persephone Jones. She is the toast of the town but definitely does not meet Coll’s mothers standards at all. She has a lot of spirit & a lot of secrets.
Of course, they strike a bargain to help one another. We have some educational courting.
There were a lot of things I really loved in this book. Coll & Persis are a great couple. There were a few things that didn’t work for me but that’s just an opinion.
I had hoped to see their father and mother in the same house because I didn’t buy the story that she left and didn’t care about her sons.
All in all, it was a satisfying finish to this series. Perhaps we’ll get a prequel with the parents?
