The MacTaggert brothers have been forced from Scotland to London. Their mother, who left them seventeen year ago, has a signed agreement with their father that all three MacTaggert sons must find English brides before their young sister weds or loose their mother's monetary support of their home in Scotland, Aldris Park. The two younger brothers have found their brides in the first two books in this series by Suzanne Enoch, The Wicked Highlanders. The eldest brother, Coll MacTaggert, Viscount Glendarril is fighting his mother's plan. This storyline was so much fun. Coll meets and falls for actress Persephone Jones, a most unsuitable match. Add in the suspense of someone trying to kill Persephone, a lady heiress in hiding and you have a very entertaining plot. I really liked these two main characters, Persephone and Coll as they are both strong, forthright personalities.

4 1-2 Stars

This is a comedic romance with some suspense and family drama.

Coll is a prickly, sardonic, protective teddy bear .He's the eldest so his family's legacy is on his shoulders, wooing Persephone throws a wrench into things.

Persephone is a fantastic historical heroine. She is well aware of how society works and her place in it.
She plays off Coll well and understands when to let him help her.

This is a quick, well place read that showcases the relationships with a humor.

Hit Me With Your Best Scot is book three in Suzanne Enoch's Wild, Wicked Highlanders trilogy. The three MacTaggert brothers have been summoned to their mother's English doorstep, and commanded to marry English brides of their mother's choosing. Raised in the wilds of Scotland, none of these men want some delicate English flower for a bride, and Coll, as the oldest, does everything he can to show his disdain for the idea.

Invited to attend the theater with his mother, Coll is blindsided when not one, but two young women show up to sit with him. He walks out, finding his way backstage, where he meets the famous actress, Persephone Jones. She is the first English woman he can even tolerate, and her beauty reels him in. When he rescues her twice from accidents that could have killed her, she begins to see the benefit of having him as her "protector." For Coll, the added bonus is, Persephone's occupation makes his association with her scandalous in his mother's eyes. If he and his brothers don't marry before their sister, they lose their estate in Scotland. His brothers have both married - women their mother intended for Coll - so he's the last Scot standing. What if he marries Persephone, thumbing his nose at the mother who abandoned her three young sons for 17 years?

Persephone Jones has been hiding in plain sight for 8 years. She ran away rather than marry a man 40 years her senior, and has no desire to be bartered off by her parents again! Meeting Coll backstage proves to be both good and bad. Can she keep the independence she prizes, when her heart wants to keep Coll?

This story made me laugh, kept me riveted, and made me search out the first two books in the series! Coll's dilemma was actually pretty hilarious, and reading about all of the things he did in the first two books to get out of meeting the women his mother chose for him kept me in stitches. I also enjoyed the mystery of who was trying to kill Persephone.

I am a sucker for Highlander stories, so this one was a great choice. I definitely recommend.

Right off the bat the story seems very humorous, as was expected when I saw the title to the book.

Enoch continues her series about three hunky Scotsmen who are being forced by their English mother to marry Englishwomen. In this final book in the series, the oldest son, Coll MacTaggert, is totally uninterested in any of the London belles his mother introduces him to. Instead he’s attracted to Persephone Jones, the reigning actress on the London stage. He can’t resist her and when he realizes that someone is trying to kill her, his protective nature
comes out strong.

If you can suspend disbelief, this is a very fun read.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Book three in author Suzanne Enoch's WILD WICKED HIGHLANDERS is wicked good fun. Coll and Persie and a perfect duo. Although Persie wants to deny her attraction to Coll... he proves very hard to resist. What starts out as innocent fun quickly becomes so much more. Find out what happens in HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SCOT.

Coll MacTaggert, who also wears the title Viscount Glendarril, and his two brothers have come to England to find brides. Initially, they are angry to discover that funding for the upkeep of their estate in Scotland is dependent upon each of them marrying before their little sister marries--which is happening shortly. If not, then funding is to be totally cut off. However, many families depend on the income they get from working for or on this estate, so the brothers decide to head to England, to stay with the mother who abandoned them 17 years earlier, shortly after their sister is born. By the start of this book, two of his brothers have already found brides, and Coll is the final remaining holdout. However, every young lady he meets wants to talk about the weather--instead of anything of substance. He's bored silly, and they all seem so fragile. He's looking for a woman who can hold her own with him, who isn't afraid to speak her mind, and who can argue back when needed. He finally meets a totally inappropriate woman who fascinates him. Mrs. Persephone (Persie) Jones is an actress, and as such, is looked down upon by the aristocracy. Coll and Persie reach an agreement whereby she will help him find an appropriate wife, and he will protect her from whoever it is that is trying to kill her, as there have been several nearly fatal accidents happening to Persie lately.

This story moves along at a decent pace, with occasional spikes of tension--especially when Persie is being targeted. There are various themes running through this story, and one of the most enlightening is the feeling of freedom experienced by both of these protagonists. Coll doesn't care about the 'rules' of society, and Persie has had to make her own way, and has also experienced freedom in her own life because of her independence. Other themes explored include forgiveness, trust, loyalty, and creating one's own family. The reader is rooting for these two to find a way to be together, even though there are many obstacles to overcome. There are some lighthearted moments that offset the seriousness of the ongoing threat to Persie's life. This is a delightful book that should leave readers happy!

I received an advanced reader’s copy of Hit Me with Your Best Scot by Suzanne Enoch.

I enjoyed Coll’s and Persephone story. Coll stood out as a character. His strength and personality really shown through in the story. Temperance is strong as well and doesn’t shy away from facing difficult situations. Both having strong personalities with differences of opinion that showed how well matched they were. They were willing to work together and compromise.

There was a good twist as far as the mystery of who was trying to harm Persephone.

The characters from previous books in the series make an appearance in this story. It was great to revisit them. They serve to show the love of family and how they stand by each other against any situation.

This is a great addition to the series.

Coll McTaggert is trying to escape his mother’s matchmaking, once again, at the theatre. He escapes backstage after greasing the doorman’s palm. There he witnesses the amazing Persephone Jones. The couple of times he’d been to the theatre he’s been running away from his mother so had never seen a production. Viewing it from the side stage gave him an interesting view of the woman he can’t take his eyes off.

Coll soon finds out that she’s “spoken for” but when he finds that she’s not as spoken for as the gentleman made it seem, Coll comes to the rescue. He then devises a plan to protect her from her many admirers and keep his mother off of his back by telling her that he’s engaged to an actress. Oh, the horror!

What starts off as just a bit of a jest ends up turning to true protection when Coll and Persie find out that someone’s trying to kill her. Not only do they have to find a killer but Coll has to figure out what his true feelings for Persie are the more time they spend together.

Ms. Enoch did not disappoint in this book. I have to admit that throughout the series I wasn’t a huge fan of Colls. I mean, I get why he’s so upset. He’s being forced into marriage in order to save his people, which might be fine if it didn’t have to be an Englishwoman! That’s the part that sticks in his craw. Maybe if it was a Scottish woman he would be slightly less antagonistic, but probably not. Lol Despite the fact that he wasn’t my favorite McTaggert, I liked this story a lot.

Persie and Coll were great together and their story was intriguing. Their relationship and the mystery of who was trying to kill Persie kept me turning pages. Top that with Coll’s mother’s reaction to Coll and an actress? Fireworks. 😊

In the end I was quite happy with how the story turned out and I had a very enjoyable time reading it.

I read this book before knowing it was the last book in a Series, but found that did not impact my enjoyment of the book. Both main characters were strong and engaging, and a really good match.

First off I want to admire this book cover for a moment, it's absolutely gorgeous!! Very eye popping and will grab your attention if you are looking through the aisles at a bookstore.

It took me a while to really get into the book. The story was great and I could really see where the author was going with the story and route that she wanted to take but I just felt like the characters were falling flat and short of what their personalities were meant to be like. It was hard for me to really get attached to them.

I really did enjoy the plot and the story line and I do want to go back and read the other books to get a feel for the other highlanders that are mentioned. I might reread this book after those and see if tat changes my mind then.

Can I tell you that I love this author, like love her, she has a couple of other series that I love. And some books in other series that I can't get enough of, this series just isn't one of them, I have tried, repeatedly and I just can't and it breaks my heart because I can't seem to connect with these guys like at all. The titles always tend to pull me in, and then there are the covers and throw in some highlanders and I am so there so when I start reading and the main characters are doing it for me i want to cry..so so sorry.

This book was a slow burn for me. But quickly Coll and Persephone grew on me. Coll needing to find an English wife in 4 short weeks, gets a surprise from his mother when he shows up at the theater and having 2 young ladies thrown at him. His answer was to quickly leave the theater box and hid in the shadows of the stage. Where he meets Persephone Jones. Adventure ends up being around ever corner for these two.

This was a good way to end this trilogy of the MacTaggert Brothers.

The MacTaggert brothers have been on the rocky road to matrimony for a few weeks now. The two younger have been lucky in love. Big brother Coll is the last man standing and he has no choice but to find a bride or the family will lose everything. That search is grudging, angry, hilarious, envious, and resigned. To complicate matters he becomes an actress's protector while engaged in his search. I loved this story! Coll presents himself to the public as a big dumb Scot. Big? Yes. Scottish? Definitely. But one of the smartest men you'll run across.

I loved reading this book. I really enjoyed it. I like how the writer gave this story humor. It had great comedic scenes. I like that she gave each character some witty replies. I enjoyed the excitement of the book. The mystery was an added plus to the book. The romance between Col and Persie was an steamy affair. I found the book easy to read. I really liked the Gaelic the writer used. I loved that the writer stuck close to the Scottish traditions and their way of living. The romance was a slow build. Perhaps if the romance could start at the beginning of the book. The book is a lovely story I think the readers will enjoy.

I skipped the second book in this series, and picked up in this one, but I don't feel like I lost any of the plot. Coll was a very dynamic character, with more depth than people realized. It's also easy to pick up on the fact that Persephone has more than one secret to her, but the respect that Coll had, to let her be her own person, was surprising and refreshing in a romance novel. Their chemistry and understanding of each other was really enjoyable to read.
The only reason I knocked off one star was because I think the villain could've used more time in the story. It was a really interesting turn of events, and I would've liked to see more of that aftermath, and I think it was missing from the story.

I immediately fell in love with this book. Coll and Persie are lovable characters who caught my attention from the start. Both stubborn and prideful. I loved how Coll rejected the lorded elite and didn't even like being titled. Though I've not read the previous books in the series it was still easy to follow along.

Hit me With Your Best Scot is a funny, romantic novel by Suzanne Enoch. I enjoyed this story very much. It has her usual charm from her other novels and does not disappoint in the romance department. I would suggest this novel for a quick weekend read or a great read to take your mind off of things around you.
