This is the first book I have read from this series, and really makes you want to find and read the previous ones.
Great plot, amazingly crafted characters and fun to read.
This was such a great read. I was able to finish it in a day. The author done a good job at keeping me guessing who the killer was, (my first guess was right, but she had me change my mind several times). I reallt enjoyed the recipes at the end, too. I think they were a nice addition to the story, but I would have loved for ones that were mentioned in the story to have been included.
The pace of the story was really nice, and everything was evenly spaced. The mc's love life, work life, and the case were very well spaced out and the author didn't get stuck on one point while forgetting the others.
This was a nice, easy, and entertaining book that I would recommend for anyone who just wants a quick read while on vacation or who doesn't have a lot of time to spend on a full blown series where each book has to be read.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author but it works as a stand alone. I liked that Claire is a PI but that the book feels like a cozy mystery. But I found the relationships between Claire, Brian, Abby and David distracted from the mystery.
Fun cozy mystery based in Cleveland, OH. The murderer in this story targets local bakeries - and their head bakers - with poisoned tarts! A fun cozy romp featuring Claire, running her fledgling PI organization, her fiance detective Corrigan and Claire's authentic italian family.
This was my first read by this author. I enjoyed this cozy mystery! If you are looking for a mystery without the R-rated scenes and adult language, this could be the series for you! I enjoyed the characters and the author had me guessing until the end!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book!
This book is ok. I didn't like the relationship between Claire and David. I felt like the book focused on that more than the actual searching for the killer. #PastryandPoison #NetGalley
This is a great example of a book which offers a great mystery without taking itself too seriously. The relationships between characters are so well constructed that you can almost feel how they themselves feel about each other. Pitting the fiancés against each other was a stroke of genius .The dialogue is snappy and the setting appealing. Add on to this as mystery with genuine thrills and scrapes and you have a really great book.
I’m new to this author, but the cover and description had me intrigued.
The story was good, and the characters have potential.
I’m not sure if I would continue reading this series, but I will definitely keep my eye out for another book.
Claire and Brian try to solve the same murder. Will it be Brain with the police or Claire the PI. I enjoyed the story. It was a good mystery and the characters have good connections.
