Wonderful book! A good amount of suspense & very engaging describing what could happen with a sizable lottery win, what would change, how one could be treated so differently. Another “win” for Ms Parks!
I expected a little more mystery in this story. Just My Luck is a story of 3 couples and their children who have played the lottery together for years until 2 couples pull out the week before the numbers hit. Adele Parks shows the difference ways money can change a person. There were some parts that were interesting but it did drag a little in the beginning. I couldn't figure out what the mystery would be.
Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to read an early copy.
Ijust reviewed Just My Luck by Adele Parks. #JustMyLuck #NetGalley
3 stars. It was kind of predictable and I just couldn’t get into it.
Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for my ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Adele Parks never disappoints! This literary jam is packed with lies and deceit and some truly awful characters, but you will not be able to tear yourself away!
Amazing story, very easy to get into. I have never read a story like this. It makes one really think about the downfalls of having money. Yes money can buy you everything material you have wanted or dreamed of. But can it stop your daughter from getting pregnant at the age of 15? Will it stop your husband of planning a kidnapping or leaving you for another women? I will be recommending this to many different genre of readers. Great story!!!
Money can bring out the worst in people. I've witnessed it first hand with my husbands family!
But this book was great! I couldn't put it down! The characters you'll hate and love!
The way this was written was pretty genius.
I enjoyed this from start to finish!
I received an advance copy of, Just My Luck by, Adele Parks. This book was good. Lexi and Jake and their friends play the same lottery numbers, over and over, unthinkably they win. Their is a rift in the friendship, people get greedy. Will they all be friends when its over?
And they say don’t make friends and money. A lottery win causes a rift between a group of friends while they all struggle to keep a share. This book is a psychological thriller but it’s also an interesting character study about greed.
Three couples, best friends who share everything, have played the same combination of numbers in the lottery for years. Promising if they won, they would split the spoils. But then the friendship breaks down when one of them is caught in a lie. Things have changed, but when one of them actually wins the lottery, the idea of sharing millions of dollars doesn’t seem quite as fair as it did before. And that’s the kind of money someone will kill for
I have read several Adele Parks books in the past and enjoyed them. After starting JUST MY LUCK, I found myself not able to really get into the book and thought it was a bit "ho-hum". Holy Cow....I am so glad I pushed through and continued reading. What a fantastic book! So many twists and turns, it was hard to keep up. Absolutely loved all of the surprises and found myself gasping out loud! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy. Cannot wait to recommend this book!!
