Full of twists and a page turner, keeps you in suspense till the end.
Paula is determined to find out what happened to her sisters child after her sister is found dead but no longer pregnant and no sign of her baby.
Sixteen years has past and a baby is kidnapped, can Paula connect the two and finally find out where her sisters child went to.
Brilliant book definitely recommend it.
I just loved this thriller book! This will have you on the edge of your seat!
We hear from several different characters and then it all comes together amazingly at the end!
Alison's writing is fabulous. I loved the way the characters were played throughout.
So many twist and turns..... Your bound to love it!
The book’s prologue describes a mother waking up and realizing her newborn baby is missing. Then the first chapter begins with Paula Donnelly visiting her sister Lizzie’s grave before returning home to her two children. Paula has always wondered if LIzzie had a baby before she died and if so where that child is now. Paula starts a search with the help from an old school friend of Lizzie’s, the handsome Johnny Shepherd. Other parts of the book are told from the point of view of Charlie who is a teenaged student who gets pregnant. There are also some chapters told from the point of view of Marian Glynn, a social worker.
This is a fast-paced and suspenseful book. Paula’s search for the truth about a possible niece or nephew she has out in the world somewhere is interesting. I enjoyed how she and Johnny teamed up, even when I wasn’t always sure if Johnny had some kind of ulterior motive. Most of Charlie’s chapters are very depressing. She is a sweet, but naive young woman and it’s hard reading about the situations she gets into. By the time the reader is introduced to Marian’s point of view, it’s clear how Paula, Charlie, and Marian are connected. However, I was shocked by the huge twist that comes in Part Three of the book and it makes the story even better. I like the way things turned out at the end, but the book stops somewhat abruptly with many things being wrapped up through the epilogue. This is the second book I’ve read by Alison James and I have enjoyed them both. I like the fast pace, the twist at the end, and interesting characters, especially Paula.

Absolutely brilliant!! So many twists and turns from the start. I was kept on the edge of my seat and enthralled throughout. A hair raising family psychological thriller. I would highly recommend it.
Sixteen years ago, Lizzie Armitage woke to find her baby gone. Days later, Lizzie is dead... Her sister Paula is determined to find out what happened to her sister's child and now, finally, she may just get some answers. Can Pauls not only find out the truth about what happened, but also stop another tragedy happening to another family?
Wow! This is the first book by Alison James I have read, and I'll definitely be reading the rest of her books now. This book was thrilling, tense and exciting, with an interesting range of characters. We hear from several different characters and then it all comes together perfectly. I couldn't stop reading until I was finished, and the ending was brilliant. I very much recommend this book!

I would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. Like every other Alison James book I have read, this one does not disappoint. While I found it a bit slow in the beginning, once I got into it, it just kept going and held my interest till the end.
Like the previous Alison James books I have read this did not disappoint.
I was captivated from the outset and devoured this in only two days.
Right, where do I start? This book was truly brilliant, I was totally hooked. A highly suspenseful family drama which has twists you just don’t see coming. Paula is desperate to find out what happened to her sisters baby, was Lizzie definitely pregnant or did she just imagine it? Marion and her husband Tom are desperate for a baby, what lengths will Marion go to, to get them the family they deserve? Such a fast paced book, my heart was pounding reading the last two chapters!
A baby is snatched. A woman is found dead on her apartment. A sister tries to find out the truth. Was there even a baby? Her Sister's Child is a good read. It takes a who,e to connect the story and when I realized the first ironic twist I thought it was very clever. Johnny was my favorite character. I liked him from the beginning. Marin was completely nuts. I had no sympathy for her character. I shook my head at the naïveté of Charlie. It's a suspenseful read that satisfied me.
Absolutely loved this thrilling psychological thriller! Couldn’t wait to see what would happen next but didn’t want it to end! Was totally enthralled from start to finish! The complexities of family relationships and make ups, history repeating itself and raw emotion take you the reader on a twisty turney journey with so many surprises along the way.Sensitive subject matter such as alcoholism, infertility, adoption and child abduction really add to the emotive feel of this book taking you on a rollercoaster emotions as you try to preempt the next twist!
Would totally recommend this book!

Ok I wasn't expecting it to end in that way. I was waiting for a twist which didn't come. Alison just punched me to my face with that twist of hers for which her books are known for.

Now, sixteen years after, Paula meet someone from past and it seems that they know what happened on that day.
